  1. I had really bad heartburn for the first 4 or 5 days...I'm on prilosec though and it's been a huge help!
  2. Congrat's on your first step! This site is great, very useful!
  3. I'm sure that should be fine. I just talked to my nut today and she said clear broths were fine. I have heard other people straining other types of soup for the better flavored broth too.
  4. Don't worry Tap, you are definitely not the only one to feel this way! You have a responsibility to do what is best for you though and I totally sympathize with sitting in the house feeling drained and not doing anything. That is a big reason for my having the surgery, I'm so tired of having no energy...I want to get out and live my life for a change! Sounds like you're heading in the right direction and being worried about all of those things is a good sign I think that you are really ready to change!
  5. lol I totally understand..."you're so pretty for a big girl" or "you could be so pretty if..." I can't wait for a nice open-ended compliment without the slap to go with it!
  6. Wow, definitely a bad idea...you would get so sick. There is soo much sugar in alchohol.
  7. Wow, I'm sorry you have to go through this but wishing you a quick recovery!
  8. ahhh, my first post-op appointment is almost 3 weeks out! I definitely can'twait that long!
  9. Congrat's! :-) I'm 6 days out too! I am trying not to weigh myself until tomorrow though. lol
  10. My whole stomach is still very tender, I was sleeved 12-11 but I do have one site that is definitely more painful than the rest and it's not red/leaking/swollen either. I still do my pain medication once a day and at night if it's bothering me. I know it's hard but our bodies do need time to heal!
  11. Congratulations, you lookamazing!
  12. That's crazy...and wrong of course. I don't understand why they would want to take away one of the most important tools in our success!
  13. Wow, you look great! Good luck as you continue on your journey!
  14. Yes, it would still hurt me to sneeze...and the burping/gas is uncomfortable in my chest.
  15. I did bring my phone which was nice to have but I was too tired for any other diversions. lol I pretty much slept/drank/peed/walked and then by the time your done you're ready for another nap! I did enjoy having my own robe but it's not necessary, mine is very long so when I draped it behind me I felt safely covered and also if you are not big on sleeping with their slipper socks on it was nice to have slip on slippers from home (def not a necessity but I don't like asking for help to put them on every time I need to get up). Oh, and definitely bring some type of chapstick/carmex, it is so dry in the hospital! Hmmm, I can't think of anything else you might need! Good luck!
  16. I'm havinga lot of gas too...wish I could help!
  17. I want to enjoy my time with family and friends for christmas, that is number one. I would also like to have a good kickstart into my weight loss journey having been sleeved 12-11, I am ready to make this next year a great one full of new adventures and activities!
  18. Wow, that's great you both feel so well!
  19. I'm going to lose it if my husband complains about being hungry one more time as i'm choking down some protein, and then he goes and gets Mcdonalds.
  20. Well, I went all day without pain meds today (sleeved 12-11) and it was just too much. I finally took some and am feeling so much better, even getting some good fluids in if not more protein.
  21. I've decided that they give pain meds for a reason...so I'm going to start taking them again.
  22. I'm having a ton of gas (sleeved 12-11) but I am definitely not hungry. I am still having alot of pain with swallowing in my chest, anyone else?
  23. I had lost 80 pounds, met my husband, moved to a new city, got pregnant, got married and life was pretty good. After I had my son I'm not sure what happened...maybe staying at home too long and my husband wasn't really active either. I gained the 80 back and then some. When my son was 8 months I was admitted to the hospital for some bronchitis/breathing problems and over the next year I was sick with bronchitis 3 times, one of which kept me out of work for 4 weeks, other than my smoking and weight there was no physical reason I should be getting that sick, they don't even think I have asthma. I want to be a mom my son can be excited to come home to and is not embarassed of. I want him to ask me to play soccer/baseball or whatever with him and not worry about if I'll be hurting or if I can do it without passing out, I need this surgery to help me become me again and hopefully an even better me! I want to do things with my family and friends without having to worry about weight limits or physical limitations! I was sleeved 12-11 and I'm ready for 2013!
