  1. I am over 4 months out now and I did have problems with Water in the beginning. I could only drink crystal light, Powerade zero and stuff like that but at some point I tried drinking water with spearmint gum in my mouth and that really made it go down easier. (no idea why but hey it worked) I can now drink plain water with no problems and it is actually all I drink these days, no more sweet drinks for me! ;-) I know it is really annoying but hopefully someday you will be able to drink water like normal again! ;-)

  2. I am over 4 months out now and I definitely had doubts initially post-op like "oh my, what have I done to myself?" lol My honest answer is this...there are negatives, I am losing my hair and occaisionally I take that one bite too much of something and feel like crap, I have to take antacids and Vitamins daily, and sometimes I want something and just can't do it because I am afraid my sleeve will not approve, or sometimes I do eat that something and it doesn't taste as good as I remember. The first 4 weeks post-op is a pretty rough time as well! Considering these negatives, I still have not one regret, I am 95 pounds down and my quality of life has improved immensely and so in turn has my family's! My health is better, I have no problems breathing, I quit smoking for surgery and have not started again, I can get up in the morning and go, I take my son for walks and to the park and to the mall. I can come home from work and not need to sleep for 2 days because I am exhausted! The list of positive things in my life is much longer than 4 months ago and I wouldn't trade it for the world! ;-)

  3. @KAT... hahahahahaha thank you!!! :):):):) Even though im already fabulous being thick ;)

@jen Im glad your hair is growing back its my WORST FEAR on top of not being able to tolerate milk anymore ( my addiction) My hair is my identity its long and about medium thickness if i lose it I will probably shoot myself. ahh so nervous about that :-/

Well, I have super thin hair already...so if I lose much more hair people are going to start thinking I'm sick! I am a little sad but with the chop I can donate my braid to locks for love and the new cut makes me look thinner and my hair look a little thicker! Lol. Sometimes you just have to look at the positive!

  4. Okay so I start my two week diet tomorrow and I am super sick today. Like not eating sick' date=' digestive flu sick. But I am still amped about getting me sleeve on May 6th at Spectrum Health in GR. Can't believe its in just two weeks. Besides being sick this is gonna be a great few weeks. I have been getting so much inspiration from this site and Facebook groups. Can't wait to be one of those people with a before and after pic. Yeah[/quote']

Yay! It's great that you're so excited. I had surgery at spectrum blodgett and loved it! there

  5. Had my 4 month check up today. Down 69 pounds....for some reason I was really hoping to hit 70' date=' but that's close enough! All my labs are good, they are pleased with my loss, so all is good. I feel so fortunate....to have been able to have the surgery, to have suffered no major complications, and to have lost this weight. Oh, and found out they used a size 36 Bougie....all this talk of bougies made me wonder![/quote']

That's funny, I had my four month yesterday too! ;-)

  6. I spend weeks stalling! Then I go down 1 pound then stall again! It's getting aggravating! My "time" of the month seems to be worse!

My time of month is horrible...always messes with my weight loss! I have been up and down the same 3 or 4 pounds for 2 weeks and now have my period. :-( oh well, maybe when I come off I'll lose 5 pounds! Lol

  7. I love the wonton wrappers and the muffin tin meals! I made an especially good one today that I thought I'd share. :-)

    24 wonton wrappers

15 oz container of low fat ricotta

1 pound lean ground turkey (I used ground beef but won't again...I still don't care for it)

    1 and 3/4 cups 2% mozzarella shredded

small can mushrooms stems and pieces

    small can black olives sliced

bertolli vodka sauce (you can obviously use anything but I don't recommend the low fat sauces, you use such a small amount per serving but it packs a lot of flavor....I have used low fat in the past and it was awful)

I browned my meat with some italian seasoning and garlic salt. When it's done browning, I mixed the meat, ricotta, mushrooms and black olives together. Spray your muffin tin with a non-stick spray and put your wonton wrappers in the muffin cups, then put a large tablespoon of the mixture in each cup. Then add about a tablespoon of sauce and put another wonton wrapper in and more mixture, sauce and then top with the shredded mozzarella. I baked at 375 for about 18 minutes. I thought they were pretty delicious. I am not sure on the exact calories but less than 250 and at least 15 grams Protein. One serving usually fills me up and sometimes I can't finish.

  8. I finally weigh less than my hubby! woohoo (I totally don't care that he is more than a foot taller than me! lol) I also fit into the sweater I wore on our first date again and the same winter jacket too! It just feels great to be sliding into these clothes from 3 or four years ago and seeing them fit! I am also 13 pounds away from 100 lost and I will be able to go zip-lining! I would love to hear everyone else's NSV's too!
