I think everyone loses differently so there is that. I started high weight/bmi and I think when you are that big it just shows faster. One day soon you'll be like who is that in the mirror. After 2 weeks I noticed my face changing and now I feel like I can't see anything even though my numbers are still going down. Every pound counts towards the ultimate goal!

I am only 3 weeks out but have already been fitting into clothes I previously couldn't or finally able to 'dry' some others. I am also lucky enough to have old clothes for my trip down. I did go thrift store shopping the other day though and it was great. I didn't buy anything that fit comfortably and bought some stuff that didn't even fit! I spent 35 bucks and got maybe 6 or 7 shirts and a pair of jeans. I am loving it, I don't plan on buying store clothes unless I have some sort of event/party to attend. It's goodwill for me for now, I don't want to blow a ton of money on clothes that aren't going to fit for long.

I am almost 4 weeks and I can have very soft veggies like carrots/broccoli cooked really well. My nut said no string veggies like asparagus, it's harder to digest.

I never felt restrictions until I started on the pureed/soft foods (more so on soft).

I did go to some thrift stores yesterday...kind of buying shirts ahead and jeanse that 'almost' fit. I am also lucky I have clothes for the next 3 or 4 sizes down.

I told the people who I wanted to know. I told close friends/family/co-workers, I did not post it on Facebook however. lol Right before I left work I did basically tell people because I work at a hospital...if you disappear for 4 to 6 weeks and come back thinner, they will know anyway! It's a personal decision, you don't owe it to anyone to tell but might want to share with some for support.

Hmmm, I have to say I have never heard that before...6 months seems a bit ridiculous. My doc was happy to hear that I had been walking at 3 weeks.

I was told that 1200 cal a day was more for the maintenance period and that to be losing calories ahould be 700 to 800. I'm sorry you are going through all this..I can't imagine how frustrating it must be.

Good luck selbradey! I agree with one other poster...if it's horrible it will allow for some great stories for later! My friends and I still laugh about some of the train wreck dates/guys I met! lol At least you'll be looking good with your new outfit!

So far I have not rewarded myself but I love the zip-lining reward! That is something I have always wanted to try but have been too big! I also think another good reward is an amusement park or some other thing that being too big has stopped you from enjoying! (I am thinking bigger rewards here like woohoo 100lbs gone) I think pedi's re always a great idea or getting a new haircut (I'm saving that for when my hair falls out). Purses are a great reward too...doesn't matter how skinny you get that purse will still look great! lol

I was sleeved 12-11, and I'm down 32 lbs since surgery. :-)

Hi Jamie' date=' I had surgery 12/28 and I've been feeling the same way. I guess we just keep trying. I called my bariatric dietitian and she said that it is more important to make sure we put Fluid before Protein because we don't want to get dehydrated. It has gotten to the point where I can't STAND the smell of my chocolate Protein Drinks. Going out today to see if I can get some chicken Soup and blend it real good. Hang in there! [/quote']Where are you from in michigan?
Hate winter
