    Compression stockings

compression stockings were provided at the hospital and I wore them before and after. These are not something you come home with, they basically wrap around your calf's and inflate and deflate continually to help promote circulation and prrevent blood clots.
  2. Congratulations! I love hearing about NSV's, they are so different for everyone and they are truly the reasons we made this change! Numbers only mean so much, it's important how wefeel!
  3. Wow, congrat's! I love seeing these posts, so inspirational and it makes me excited to think about being there someday!

    Juice for nausea?

Juice is a no no right after surgery, it's way too sugary. Everything on my diets is low sugar/sugar free. I also wasn't able to drink anything at all the day of surgery but that depends on the physician.
  5. Hmmm, are you getting all your liquids in? I find that I am constantly sipping and don't really get hungry. I was sleeved 12-11, I did finally try some cream soup today and that was very helpful!
  6. Hi all, it sounds like everyone is doing great! I was sleeved on 12-11 and have lost 16 pounds since surgery...I'm still having some pain though mostly tolerable I have been using my pain med once a day.
  7. Fluid goal for the day is 64oz, 32oz from water. The rest can be protein/broth etc. I am 1 week out and can't get that much in! I would say bring down your water a little and up your protein and you will be right on track!
  8. Those are some amazing affirmations that you are with a great surgeon...if the nurses chose him I can garauntee you he is one of the best!

    Full liquid question

I'm sure that should be fine. I just talked to my nut today and she said clear broths were fine. I have heard other people straining other types of soup for the better flavored broth too.

Panic mode starting to set in

Don't worry Tap, you are definitely not the only one to feel this way! You have a responsibility to do what is best for you though and I totally sympathize with sitting in the house feeling drained and not doing anything. That is a big reason for my having the surgery, I'm so tired of having no energy...I want to get out and live my life for a change! Sounds like you're heading in the right direction and being worried about all of those things is a good sign I think that you are really ready to change!
  17. lol I totally understand..."you're so pretty for a big girl" or "you could be so pretty if..." I can't wait for a nice open-ended compliment without the slap to go with it!

    alcohol

Wow, definitely a bad idea...you would get so sick. There is soo much sugar in alchohol.
  19. Wow, I'm sorry you have to go through this but wishing you a quick recovery!

    Painful lap site?

My whole stomach is still very tender, I was sleeved 12-11 but I do have one site that is definitely more painful than the rest and it's not red/leaking/swollen either. I still do my pain medication once a day and at night if it's bothering me. I know it's hard but our bodies do need time to heal!

  24. That's crazy...and wrong of course. I don't understand why they would want to take away one of the most important tools in our success!
