    FMLA/time off question

That is a question that you need to ask your physician. There is no way I will be ready to go back at 2 weeks but I work 12 hour shifts and do a lot of lifting

    I have lost a "Howie"!

You know it doesn't sound right that you guys are so excited to have lost a dog and a child? LOL Just kidding by the way, congrat's and those are great visuals!

had one week check up today

Congrat's that is awesome! I seem to be the only person who doesn't have a one week appointment...mine is at 2 weeks which pushed to 3 due to the holiday. Oh well, I have lost 19 pounds since surgery. I'm doing okay but doc had to call in an antibiotic because a few incisions are infected...hoping that takes care of it!

    clumsy

I really feel like you should get checked out, that doesn't sound good or normal.
  5. I understand that you're frustrated but 18 lbs in a month? Everyone loses differently and I'm sure it's hard to see people who are losing 18 pounds in a few weeks but at 18 pounds in a month you are still over 4 pounds a week and that's not too shabby if you ask me. I think sometimes we expect everything to happen so fast, the weight didn't pop up over night and it is definitely going to take time coming off. If you hit a 'stall' then call your nut for some advice but sometimes it's just about waiting it out. Best of luck to you!
  6. I'm confused. If you are already eating the smaller amounts/low calories/high protein then how is a revision of the sleeve going to help?
  7. good luck and hoping for a quick recovery for you!

    clumsy

I would go get checked out if I were you. That doesn't sound like anything that should be happening, are you dizzy/light headed?
  10. It is hard ladies...I went to the store the other day and it was crazy how many things in there were screaming my name! I was actually sweating it was so bad! The junk is everywhere but we obviously need to stay strong! I love the crack reference by the way! lol We only have another week and I figure I can do just about anything for one week! As a prior poster said...we are going to lose a ton of wight over the holidays and all of those face stuffers can't say that!
  11. lol I have been wanting to watch this stuff and I have been pouring through my healthy cooking mag like crazy too!

    Being cold

Well, it's nice to know I'm not alone! lol I'm so miserable my hubby offered to turn it up...but 74 degrees is ridiculous!

    Being cold

I'm only a week out and I am freezing all the time! I used to always make my hubby turn down the temp and now I'm begging him to turn it up! lol I even wore a thick robe over sweats and a long sleeve shirt today (thermostat at 72)!
  14. Wow, you guys are great but I can't even go back until after the first of the year when I have my first post-op appointment! I also don't think I could yet either...my stomach still hurts and 2 days at work and I'd be soo dehydrated!

I really miss smoking...it would make this whole thing a lot easier to deal with! If they came out tomorrow with a cig that isn't bad for you, I'd fight my way to the front of the line! lol

    5 Confessions (Join In)

I confess... 1. that I like this thread a lot! 2. that I am afraid of what I will look like when I am thin 3. that I may not need to worry about number two ever happening! lol 4. that I was totally out of control (binging) before surgery but am glad I have behaved since! 5. that I am worried my husband (who isn't fat) will never get his butt out of his chair to do things with me. 6. that I am really happy I found this site

    Last Week Sleever?

I was sleeved 12-11 and am doing good. I am getting at least 3 15 Gm protein drinks in and sipping soups too but water is still pretty rough going down. I'm down 16 lbs since surgery. Is anyone else still having pain, like the internal abdominal pain?

100 lbs lost in 6 months with pics

Wow, you look amazing and that smile in your newest pic just seems to go deeper! This is so awesome for me to see, especially because I am only one week out and your starting weight is close to mine! Congrat's on such a big success!

    Today 12/19/12 is sleeve day

Congratulations healthy, good lucky with sugery and a speedy recovery!
  21. I still have a hard time with water but drinking it at room temperature does seem to help. I don't ever throw it up but it literally felt like lead rolling down into my stomach. Protein drinks feel so much btter going down for some reason. I am 1 week out by the way.
  22. I think that's great, I have heard of a few others doing this together as well! How wonderful to be able to take the journey with someone! I myself am a little nervous of how this is going to work with my husband. He is not obese but has a very low activity level and I don't think he's going to want to 'change' with me because he doesn't need to?

When is the right time to try?

My doc told me no earlier than 18 months but he also said that it would be best to wait until I was completely done losing weight and at goal for a while.
  24. I have had a few of those uh oh moments when feeding or getting food ready for my son, I'll be ready to lick or take a bite and I'm like oh no, I can't do that. It's crazy what a habit food can be sometimes! Good luck with the cream soups! I had butternut squash soup and just that different flavor felt really good.

Well, I guess they can also mean support hose and you can buy those anywhere. Basically they are reall tight stockings to reduceswelling.
