  1. I put a lot of value on not gagging and wretching. If you look at it that way, the price isn't an issue
  2. I'm seven weeks out and still don't get hungry. I have to remind myself to eat.

I've got the same steamer. It's the PERFECT size for reheating leftovers and making veggies for one. Hard to beat for $8.

    SERIOUS HELP!

Dense Proteins hit me like a lead weight if I don't take REALLY small bites and chew the daylights out of them before swallowing. It takes a pretty conscious effort to keep it up and every once in a while I slip and it sure lets me know in a hurry.
  5. I had surgery on a Tuesday and Friday I was out and about playing tour guide for my friend who flew in for my surgery. If it wasn't for the incisions and the pain in my shoulder from the C02, I really didn't even feel like I had surgery. It was kind of freaky, especially after hearing about how others who had surgery around the same time were doing.

I love my George Foreman grill.

to mosh or not to mosh

A Pink Floyd mosh pit? What's next, a Kenny G mosh pit? Maybe a Zamfir mosh pit?
  8. I certainly think so. The powders all made me gag. I wouldn't have been able to go through with the surgery if it wasn't for the Premier shakes.
  9. Awesome! I had a little sticky rice from a dim sum place last weekend. In TINY bites, it didn't cause me any issues so enjoy but take baby steps
  10. Popcorn is fine, just as long as you wash it down with a martini or two.
  11. My menu is all over the map, but I try to have four or five 200-250 calorie meals a day with a couple of snacks thrown in.
  12. I love the chocolate, thought the vanilla was nasty. Way too sweet. I still have a whole case (minus the one I tried) of Vanilla I'm looking to dump off at my next support group meeting.

    Chilli, what kind?

Nalley's Chili. Best canned chili I've ever had.
  14. I was a little stalled when I was that low and the weight didn't start dropping until I was in the 1000-1100 range.
  15. How many calories are you taking in daily?
  16. I hear you. I still don't really get hungry so I have to remind myself to eat or the day will have flown by and around dinnertime I realize I haven't had anything since breakfast.
  17. If you cut the calories down too much, the body goes into starvation mode and slows your metabolism. It sounds counter-intuitive but you need to up your calories if you want to kick off the weight loss.

    I failed my sleep study

Some people never do. Not all sleep related issues are a function of weight. There are many skinny people who use CPAP machines.

    I failed my sleep study

Don't beat yourself up. The sleep study is not a pass/fail test, it's an evaluation tool. If getting a CPAP will help you, it's a very good thing that they found out.

    premier shakes.

Was it warm or cold when you drank it? They go down MUCH better for me when they're as cold as possible. They get a little slimy as they get warmer.
  21. Protein doesn't shrink the liver, drastically limiting your carb intake does.

I don't have any experience with their WLS program, but they're a great hospital otherwise.

    Protein Shake

I know just how you feel. I tried EVERY flavor of protein powder that unjury and Suntrax(Nectar) offered and they all made me gag and a few almost made me chuck them right back up. The day before my surgery I went to see my dietician worried I might have to cancel the surgery because I couldn't stomach the protein drinks when she recommended the Premier Protein Shakes. They saved me. The chocolate is great but I didn't like the vanilla at all, too sickly sweet for me. 5+ weeks post-op and I still have one every day to kick up my protein. They made having this surgery possible for me. DEFINITELY try them and good luck!
