i've definitely lost some inches :)
So this is crazy but my entire week 2 post op I complained and complained about the scale not moving. Sunday I get dressed for church and my slacks were soooo loose I couldn't keep them up. I ended up having to grab a pair of slacks I hadn't worn in about a year (because I had outgrown them) and they fit, but a little loose too! Cha-ching!!! Then I'm on my way to work and threw on my black flats... walked in the office and they're flapping off my feet. I wanna measure so bad but I'm gonna wait until my one month surgiversary.. little excited I'll admit!

December sleevers! hows your progress coming along?
i was sleeved on the 20th of December and am 2 weeks post op! It is a real struggle getting all my liquids and protein in. I'm barely getting all my liquids and maybe a fraction of my protein. I have found a shake that seems to go down a bit easier: Premier protein shakes. They are at costco and are literally saving my life lol. I also struggled with constipation. Today is the first I've had a BM since surgery. Getting better though. 21 pounds down in 2 weeks. I won't compain!!!

2 weeks post op
Excited but a little exhausted at the same time!!! Had surgery on December 20th and the first week was smooth sailing. Wasnt until about 12 days post op did I realize I had not had a bowel movement. I was in an all out panic and my surgeon was too. He ended up having me take some Miralax and Colace and this morning had my firt BM since surgery.. Glad that's over with! Stepped on the scale last night and was 235.6lbs!! Not much of a loss like in the first week, but I'll take every single pound. Starting Weight: 256 Day of Surgery: 247 Day Left Surgery: 258 1 Week Post Op: 241 2 Weeks Post Op: 235 total loss thus far: 21 pounds Not bad. Won't complain. But I think in this week I will begin taking my vitamins (and boy there are a lot!) and doing some cardio at the gym. So blessed to have gone through this process with little to no complications and even more blessed that I am on my way to a healthy new me! Happy losing all!

Surgen called back about constipation problem.. now im nervous!
Thats the thing.. I feel perfectly fine. It's so hard getting the protein in but overall I know that the bowels should be moving again. Im praying that I don't have to be poked and prodded again. I have soooo much flatulence.. but never once the urge to go. I'm thinking maybe I just dont have enough in me to produce a bowel movement. The pre-surgery clean out was a bit excessive. I had to drink 2 10 ounch bottle of magnesium citrate and a fleet enema. Talk about walking into surgery 10 pounds lighter after only an evening of pooping. Im sure whatever i had in me was cleaned out with those 20 ounces of magnesium citrate! I'm absolutely positive. Especially considering i was on a 7 day liquid pre-op diet. Im thinking to myself, what could possibly come out?

Surgen called back about constipation problem.. now im nervous!
So yesterday I had a panic attack because I havent had a bowel movement since surgery. I called my surgeon and left a message and when he called back he was through the roof! He said if no bowel movement is produced within 3-5 days after surgery you open yourself up to all the toxins that waste is leaving in your intestines. He also wanted me to do a magnesium citrate cleanse every 4 hours until bowel is produced, but after my pre surgery experience i just can't keep it down! He also said if i don't have a bowel movement by today he will have to re-admit me and run some tests. He was soooo mad. But it's not like those specific instruction were in the after care packet. How was I to know? I hope he's over reacting!!!! I did however have some miralax last night and a stool softener this morning. Im sooo nervous!

Craving Strawberry Soda
Now i know soda is completely off limits, but oh how I've missed it! My addiction to this soda is worse than coffee. Every night on my way home from work, I'd stop by McDonalds grab a large strawberry soda for $1 and set it by my nightstand and drink it throughout the night while i sleep. I know weird habit but its sooo refreshing when you havent had anything to drink in hours. Trying to figure out how to get over it but I feel like Kel from Kenan and Kel "Who loves strawberry soda.. I do I do I do-ooo" lol.. Plus my liquids dont really quench my thirst because I can't gulp like i use to.. sipping barely takes the edge off.. welcome to the sleeved life!

No bowel since surgery.. what should i do?
I'm sure that is it as well. Just trying to see the limits of my tummy. usually if something growls in there and does anything out of the ordinary, i stop til i feel it's safe again lol just me being scary...

When I drop my weight, I'm going to try (insert answer)!
Taking some dance classes and auditioning for the Laker Girls!! Growing up I was in gymnastics, ballet, dance, and a varsity cheerleader. Most of the skill i still retain. I think I'm so gonna try it!

No bowel since surgery.. what should i do?
Lots of flatulence and I've been probably getting about 30oz of liquid in a day and about 10g of protein. still no bowel. But i have had luck with flatulence. I'm hoping what little i do have is just slowly making its way down to come on out!

No bowel since surgery.. what should i do?
I was sleeved on 12/20 (13 days post op) and I havent had 1 bowel movement since the big cleanse (pre-surgery). I have been getting very little liquids in since surgery and think this may be the cause. however, its starting to scare me a bit because I'm at a stall only 13days out. Presurgery lost 9 pounds (247), left surgery with 11 pound gain (258), and 1 week post op was 239. This is the second week and since about 9 days post op I've been at 234 no movement. Nevermind the stall, I just want the bowel. Been drinking apple juice because I don't want a stool softener and end up with the craps, but was there anything anyone did to alleviate this problem. I left a message with my doctor on some possible solutions to this but was hoping someone out there had any suggestions... Please help!

10 days post op... Mixed emotions
I know it gets better but the emotional roller coaster I've been actually living through the bad days does take a toll. Now I'm like ok I have no pain, no nausea, noncustodial reflux but will take one sip and burp and its back up. As for the energy I have tons for some reason though when I work out I can't even run for a full 15 minutes.. But no head hunger or anything, once I'm out and about food is the last thing on my mind...

10 days post op... Mixed emotions
Now I said when I started this whole journey that I would be completely honest with myself about life before and after the sleeve. Half of me is like yes!!! I did it! I'm On my way to a new life. The other half is like Tia wtf did you just do. Juice and sipping and vitamins forever? Was it that serious? I'm definitely having mixed emotions about this procedure at this point in m journey. I'm 10 days post op an have lost 20 pounds (22 pounds if you wanna count the day I left surgery at 2 pounds heavier than my starting weight)... Unfortunately I feel this is due to the fact that I haven't even gotten 10oz of liquid in a day since surgery and no protein. Everything I want my stomachs says no and spits it out. From broth to protein to Gatorade. I have this foamy spit that comes up by the loads. Looks like little gas bubbles in it and I'm not sure if this is my body's way of releasing gas or my body's way of saying nothing will stay down. So frustrating! I have found that the premier protein shakes are a bit more tolerable than any other protein shake but I can ony tolerate maybe an ounce an hour. If that! Also vitamin water is my best friend. It's the only thing that goes down and stays down. Minus a few burp ups I may have... Overall I guess the journey has been interesting but definitely one filled with so many emotions. Ups and downs on a daily basis. The few people that I've met in this forum have done wonders for getting me through the last week and I thank goodness I have this place to vent and release my thoughts. It'll take me literally 50 pounds to drop a dress size so at least I can hang onto all this fashion for a while. Other their than that I've been a trooper since about the second day post op. out and about shopping and hanging out. Went to a football game last night and getting ready to go roller skating this evening. Things will get better but my doc has me on liquids for a full 4 weeks s by the end of this ill probably never want to see or hear anything about soup again in my life. I thank god for the opportunity to get to my goal weight but I'm also saddened that this is all there will ever be! Looking forward to better days...
