Previous to my surgery I drank many diet cokes a day and no water. I was totally addicted and had been for years. Have not had one post surgery and so glad to be done with carbonation. Now I drink flavored water. My surgery was feb 4th and have lost 54 lbs.
  4. You look great, congrats! Does he know that you have lost?
  5. I just had Chinese food with my sister today we were sleeved on feb 4. We shared broc and beef with fried rice. We had both been craving Chinese food. We maybe each had a fourth of a cup and were completely done. In the past we would have each had our own order, eaten all of it and still would have Wanted dessert. Some how for us the mental part is fixed. When you are full in your stomach you will be done. we have both lost a total of 50 pounds and feel wonderful! Good luck on your surgery you will never regret it. My daughter is getting sleeved on June 10.
  6. I had the same experience with the bariatric advantage vitimans. My sister and husband love them. Just thinking of them make me nauseated.
  7. I found a chewable calcium / vit d supplement at Walmart and it is delicious. You take two at a time. I will post the name of them later today. Also, I was told to take a b12 supplement.
  8. I fortunately have not lost any hair. My sister and I were sleeved on the same day, feb 6. She has started loosing hair. My family doc told me any surgery can cause hair loss. My sister has thick curly hair and mine is fine hair. It is not obvious that she has lost any. ????
  9. I had surgery on Feb 5 and have started taking centrum silver. It is a huge pill and I have had no problems. I hated the chewable bariatric vitamins. I also started some delicious calcium chewables.
  10. My hairdresser says my hair is fine and I have a lot of hair. I sure hate the idea of loosing my hair. Did you have to wear a wig? Did people notice you were loosing your hair?
  11. Was your A1C 7 before surgery? I am very glad to hear of your success with your diabetes!
  12. Keep up the good work!! It is exciting to hear about other people's success.
  13. Have any of you with diabetes had any problems post op? What were A1C numbers before the surgery?
  14. Has anyone had a problem with a doctor refusing to do the surgery because of worries about diabetes. My sister's last A1C was 11, she has been working hard and her blood sugars have been responding and going down. We wanted to have our surgeries on the same day and we are scheduled for Feb. 4. I know I can have my surgery I am worried she won't be able to.
  15. I was surprised that it took only one submission and I was approved in about 1 week. I have a surgery date for Feb. 4th.
  16. I got Premier Protein shake at Sam's Club in vanilla and chocolate and it is delicious. There are 30 grams of protein in this shake (160 calories). Also, got the Premier Protein bars (290 calories). I love the taste and the texture. There are twelve shakes in the box and the cost is $18.00, approximately $1.50 per shake.
  17. I was also nervous about getting denied with BCBS and they approved me immediately. I am waiting for a surgery date. Good luck!!
  18. I wish I could have my surgery tomorror, lol. Waiting on insurance.
