  1. That is such great news! Congratulations and your update is a lot of comfort to me and I know others who are going through surgery soon. Hugs!
  2. So excited for you!! Just breathe.....
  3. Well Terri you have an amazing opinion. We will be on the loser's bench fo sho!!
  4. Those thoughts have crossed my mind as well as my date is coming up this upcoming Monday. But I try to remind myself this is what is necessary for me. Limitation is our friend and we should become besties with it. Fave foods will taste even better in moderation and I hope to appreciate them when I do occasionally partake. Also keep in mind that your tastes may change where you won't even care to eat your favorites. I kinda hope to be in that boat. Stay strong and good luck with your surgery! Please let us know how you are afterwards when you can!! ♡
  5. Anyone else having problems with this during the pre op liquid diet? No major bloating or gas yet but haven't "gone" in a few days. Should I be worried for an upcoming surgery in the 11th? I hear constipation is an issue after surgery as well.
  6. Hi Sue! Doing okay over all. I have my tough moments, that's for sure. Like tonight when my husband was cooking himself some delicious smelling gyoza. I ALMOST grabbed one but decided against it. It was a proud moment. Had really bad headaches last week. What kinda troubles are you having? Were you put on a 2 week pre op?
  7. Lookin for my fellow February 11th surgery buddies!!
  8. Woo Woo! Just love before and after pics! Fantastic job!
  9. Gorgeous!! Congrats! I hope to have as much success!
  10. Don't mean to pry but did you keep up with your Vitamins and Protein? This girl I work with had gastric bypass and experienced terrible hair loss and I can really tell. I'm pretty sure she didn't keep up with her vitamins and protein though. I guess it is common enough so I should just accept that it will happen. I'm still scared though.
  11. I really really hope so!! Thanks peeps for your support! <3
  12. I've been taking 10,000 MG of Biotin for quite a few weeks now and am using hair rejuvinating shampoo to rev myself up for my upcoming surgery on Feb 11th. I have bookmarked wig web sites and bought Xfusion for some coverup if needed (paranoia much??) I am SO scared of hair loss. My hair is already on the thinner side to begin with. So my questions are these... Is hair loss solely due to lack of Protein and other Vitamins? A shock to the system from surgery? Does EVERYONE experience hair loss? Could I possibly be spared?? I realize there are a lot of other things I should worry about other than my own vanity but I can't help it.
  13. Under the link: PRE-Operation Gastric Sleeve Surgery (VSG) Questions & Answers Click on the thread: The Official What You Will Need For Your Gastric Sleeve Surgery Thread! I checked this out yesterday and received lots of good info!!
  14. Sorry I don't have an answer for you but I can vent along with you concerning wasting money on products that I don't end up liking. Although, I have a feeling most of us have encountered this challenge throughout the process. I spent 140 bucks on the bariatric advantage vitamin regemin pushed by my surgery center. The shakes did not work for me and I spent about 150 on those. Tried some egg protein and hate it so wasted another 40. My plan is to ask my surgeon on Tuesday about when I will be ok to start swallowing pills. I know I won't be a big fan of the chewables as well. Good luck to you! <3
  15. Wishing you the best!! Let us know how it goes!
  16. @Tstorm Maybe try a different drink? Slim fast contains a lot of sugar which could be contributing to your cravings. I'm on day 6 now and cravings arent so bad anymore.
  17. Hello fellow pre and post sleevers!! I fall into the pre category and I'm wondering... What does YOUR positive self-talk sound like? You know, those words you say to yourself to keep on track and going strong. Those things you think or say out loud to defeat the doubt and urges to cheat or give up... Today is another day to show my strength I love me...especially a healthy me Ya know, sappy stuff like that... Thanks everyone! ♡ Cher
  18. And yah noodles a total must. hehe
  19. I heard lots of good things about the Unjury chicken. I ordered and it should be delivered today. Excited!! And I agree...the switch between broth and shakes helps a lot! First two days are the toughest. I experienced some major headaches. Keep busy and have support that will help keep your eye on the prize. A good friend has made sure when we hang out, nothing has to do with food or liquor. Also, I suggest fiber supplements. The protein shakes I'm drinking don't have much for fiber and I'm feeling a little stopped up. 8 lbs lost since Monday though! Good luck! ♡
