  1. I was also sleeved in the 25th and having the same issue. I know I'm not getting in my fluids and Protein. I get terrible gas pains every time I drink or eat anything. I have been trying to drink the Atkins shakes but I get so bloated. I'm lactose intolerant' date=' I can no longer get yogurt. I'm looking for a lactose free protein powder. It is frustrating but I am positive that it will get better. It has to![/quote']

Muscle Milk is lactose free is you wanted to give that a try. I'm lactose intolerant as well and Unjury protein powders work for me. Unfortunately there has been lots of trial and error as far as finding something that is both tasty and not gonna make me feel like exploding!! Lots of stomach aches and $ wasted. :-/

  2. I am 2 weeks out today' date=' and I found that I could easily eat/drink without feeling "full" immediately. My surgeon said I just tolerated liquids better than most and that was fine. I started mashed potatoes, pureed chicken with mayo, and eggs earlier than I was suppose to. My surgeon told me it was fine as long as i could tolerate them. You are not alone.[/quote']

    Yup! Same with me!

  3. I was sleeved on 2/28 as well...I'm on here all the time just to make sure what I'm experiencing is normal :) lol

Seems each day is better than the day before. Still having some gas pains, but more than anything, my back muscles hurt...I've been putting the heating pad on my back and ice pack on my stomach, seems to keep the swelling down, but not much other than the liquid lortab helps my back right now :/

Anyone else got a really sore back?

My back was SO sore and just started feeling back to normal a few days ago. I'll be 3 weeks out tomorrow. The pain was mostly in my middle to lower back. Lying down and having my husband rub my back were really my only remedies. It'll get better with time though!

  4. My name is Rebecca. I was sleeved on 2/11. Started at 386 with 61 BMI. Down to 347. Located in Greenville' date=' SC. I don't seem to be having any of the problems I have been reading about. A little nauseous after surgery, but relatively no pain. Eating soft food 1 1/2 weeks after surgery per doctors orders. No problems so far. Digestive system is working great. Feel energetic and have been able to take walks, looking forward to being released to work out and expend some of this energy. Very happy with my decision to do this.[/quote']

    How have you been?

  5. Okay so the cramping has mostly gone away. BUT...

As of last weekend (which was 2 weeks post op), I started feeling sharp pain, almost a pulling feeling, above my main incision on my left side. It seems to hurt more when I go into the cold, go figure.

In any case, it is annoying and hurts to the point I have to bend over slightly while moving around or hold onto the area to stop the pain. I don't feel it much when I'm sitting or lying down though.

I'm hoping this is normal. Just found it weird that this pain sensation hit 2 weeks after surgery versus from the very beginning.

    Anyone else experience this?

  6. I have had the same issue' date=' bery little pain in belly button but my backk is very sore and that makes it difficult getting up and down. It takes a while to be able to stand up straight. I see my doctor Tuesday and plan on asking him about this if it is not completely improved.[/quote']

My back was so extremely sore 1 day post op until the other day. The pain has subsided a lot!

  7. I'm having a lot of soreness right above my main incision. Feels like it is inside in the muscle. Last night it bothered me so much it hurt to press on it. Just seems strange the pain mostly hit yesterday, almost 2 weeks post op.

The only thing I can think of having caused it is sitting a little hunched over while getting a mani pedi yesterday afternoon. I tried varying my position here and there. Seems right after I left the salon it started hurting.

Anyone else as far out after surgery as me experience any of the same?

  8. 5 days post op and down 19 lbs since my surgery! I . Can't. Believe. It. I couldn't drop 19 lbs in a year and I just did it in less thAn a week.. Crazy! I'm battling head hunger' date=' and I think some true physical hunger. Will Prilosec help that?[/quote']

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question but head hunger is really bugging me as of the last few days. So I can def relate. Going on almost a month of liquids and starting to go a little batty!

I'm grateful for my sleeve...I'm grateful for my sleeve...

  9. So far' date=' the only issue I have is a serious pain on the right side w/ one incision. No major problems w/ gas or sleeping/lying on either side. I'm gonna try some soft food tonight to see what happens. But I slowly added some foods back and it hasn't bothered me at all eating and getting Protein in. Thankful for that! I've been diligent about getting fluids in so we'll see what happens tonight.

Did anyone else have a sharp pain on their right side from their incision/ There is no way you can turn or move that you don't feel that particular site. i don't think it's an infection since my temp has been the same for day's now and the incision itself isn't open, no Fluid of any kind coming out. Just curious as to what it is, if anyone else has had this and how long it lasted?[/quote']

Thats weird cause mine is on the left.

  10. Its true the only way is cold turkey! But you truly have to want to quit. I tried gum Patches chantex and went back to smoking. I finally was truly ready to quit and did. Be warned of the its OK ill have just one cigarrete with my friend thing because it is a trap! you will get sucked back into smoking and eventually by packs again. It took me a year to figure all this out so hopefully you wont have to go through it. I smoked a pack a day for 10 years and I quit 14 days pre op. As of today that's 2 months tomorrow. I have quit in the past for about a month then said oh just one puff and went back to smoking' date=' be careful of that Good luck[/quote']

Smoking is a lifelong struggle for most ex smokers...as I'm sure you've come to find out. :) I quit 4 years ago and up until a week before surgery I would bum the occasional cig from a friend. I was able to keep it under control to a point though (not being able to control around friends who were smokers isn't exactly completely in control right?) The surgery has been a godsend because I haven't touched one in a long time...even around friends. My sinuses are so much clearer and no more phlegm...blech! Even one a week screwed me up big time.

Good luck to all facing quitting...I know how hard it is...but quitting is a great feeling...literally.
