    Surgery Day!

Thank you everyone for the positive words!! Back home and all is going well! Mwuah!
  4. Hey everybody. Was just sleeved Monday the 11th. Feeling better everyday. I think I've been one of the lucky ones as I haven't had much nausea no vomiting and able to keep everything down that I've attempted to try. I think the worst thing for me so far has been back pain and I've been having a lot of gas pain. Seems to hit me everytime I drink something. Experiencing no hunger whatsoever. I have to remind myself to eat. The sipping of Water throughout the day is one of the hardest things to do. I'm not sure how much I've lost since the day of surgery. I asked the hubby hide the scale so I don't become obsessed cuz lord knows I would!
  5. So my surgery was on Monday the 11th. Worked out most of the gas they pumped in during the hospital stay. I am now home and it seems every time I drink something whether it be Water or broth or Carnation Instant Breakfast... So much gas tends to build up. It either comes out in pockets up my esophagus or rumbles and churns in my tummy and builds up to the point my insides feel tender almost painful. Is this normal? I am sipping very very very slowly. Absolutely no gulping. No straws or chewing gum or carbonation. I really hope this isn't how it's going to be for the rest of my life. I've been lactose intolerant for most of my life and the feeling is very similar to drinking milk for me. Help! I do plan to discuss this with my doctor but just wondering if anyone has experienced the same.

    " Official Sleever"

Surgery on the 11th here and also had hernia repaired. Anyone having ongoing problems with gas?
  7. Wow mine too!! It's rolling around and churning like crazy. At least it isnt painful though.
  8. Hello loves! Had surgery on Monday the 11th. Heading home any minute now. I believe I'm truly one of the lucky ones. Slight nausea right after surgery but meds knocked it out. Passed the leak test yesterday and started the clear liquids. Feels weird going down...lots of little gas pockets going down and coming up but nothing horrible. Tolerated warm and cold just fine. Quite a bit of soreness at the main incision site on my left side and body aches and pains but all tolerable. Even giving myself the blood thinning shots isn't as bad as I was dreading it would be. About to enjoy my last hospital meal then off to home sweet home. Best wishes to everyone in recovery and soon facing surgery! So glad to be sleeved!! ♡

Shrinkingchef...personally, I would bring an overnight bag just in case plans change last minute? Maybe it's just the worry wart in me. Wish mine was outpatient!

  16. Aghhhh! So many emotions right now!!!
  17. Aw Shaye...I'm so sorry. You never know what your insurance rep could have to say.
  18. BMI over 40 with no comorbidities or BMI of 35 or more with comorbidities. Those are the guidelines I've seen pretty much everywhere.
  19. Good luck to you! Be sure to keep us updated!
  20. No one knew if the pictures would work in my case either. It took about 3 weeks or so. Talk about suspense! Especially when I kept hearing that folks were getting approved in a day..2 days... Personally, I don't think the pictures would hurt!! Build your case as strong as possible.
