  1. I had my sleeve done Jan 9, 2013. I have been following all the rules, weighing and measuring all my foods. I do some exercise but need to work on that. I try to keep my carbs under 80 and my protein over 80. I use LoseIt and MyFitnessPal to track every bite. I have been losing steadilly since my prediet although I have really slowed down this summer as I am getting closer to my goal weight. So when my husband and I decided to go on a 2.5 week car trip out west I got very nervous! No scales, no computer, no gastric sleeve forum to read everyday to help keep me going. I was so happy when we returned yesterday to find I had lost 2lbs! This is the first vacation I have ever gone on that I didn't gain weight!!! I didn't track my food, or weigh it on the whole trip. I did share most of my meals with my husband, or I ate the leftover protein for the next days breakfast. I had a little ice cream almost everyday and a half a small bag of chips everyday. I tried to keep track of my protein in my head and most days I got it all in. I am back on track again today and will keep working to get the rest of the weight off. I have now lost 64lbs! I thought my pants were a little loose today so I went to a store and bought my first pair of size 10 in over 40 years. Thank you my sleeve!
  2. I started with bananas in the mushy stage. You can also put them in a protein shake.
  3. I was 6 months out on Tuesday and down 62lbs only 18 slow ones to go!
  4. Try hot tea, it was the only thing I could drink for a long time.
  5. I had TKR 3 years ago, before my sleeve. Make sure you do all the pre-exercises they give you to strenthen your legs, it will really help after surgery.
  6. I really don't like the Quest bars but love the Pure Protein bars. I have one every night for a snack. If I don't I wake up hungery in the middle of the night.
  7. I am 6 months out and my hair has been falling out for 2 months now. I wish it would stop soon! I have done everything right, it just happens to most of us. I will be so happy when it starts growing back in I don't care if its straight or curly as long as it comes back.
  8. I have BCBS MI with a BMI of 37 and after I did all their requirments I was approved right away! Down 60lbs now!
  9. I am almost 6 months out and I have had a rash like this off and on for the last two months. I have been to my family doctor and my dermotogist twice. Both can't figure out what it is or what is causing it. Neither thought it was caused by the sleeve. I was put on a stroid and I sure didn't like that as I didn't lose a pound the whole time I was on it. I am going for another opinion next week.
  10. I started using a straw at 3 months out with no problems. It really helps get my liquids in.
  11. I know lots of ladies who have had breast reductions with great results, a little pain for much relief later.
  12. I just got this cute little scale yesterday at Harbor Freight. It's about the size of a cell phone so you can carry it in your purse. You weight your food on the plastic cover. It was $10.99. I can't wait to use it.
  13. Excuse my spelling and grammer!
  14. 63 here. I got my sleeve on Jan 9 and have lost 55lbs so far. I'm doing great. My knee don't hurt anymore and that make waking a lot easier! I am having a big problem with hives that keep coming and going? My doctor doesn't think its related to the sleeve but maybe stress? Anyone have any ideas about this? I just started predisone today and I hope it doesn't make me gain weight! I am going to be watching every mouthful of food.
  15. I have Blue Cross of MI and I had to do the 6 month diet. I am also a low BMI and was approved first time submitted.
  16. I have a card but I haven't used it yet. I just order what I want and take most of it home or share something with someone. I wrote about the NGT tube on the back of my drivers license with a marker not to insert.
  17. My problem this week is a large thrumbosed hemorrhoid which I had to have the blood clots removed. I am in even more pain than before and bleeding most of the day. I was regular but not getting enough liquids in. I think this makes you strain more than you should. So everyone make sure you take a stool softener everyday and somekind of fiber and drink lots of water and you won't get an impacted bowel or a thrombosed hemorrhoid.
  18. It seems like I spend all day either eating or drinking. By 8:00 at night I still haven't eaten enough protein or calories so I am stuffing in another protein drink or bar maybe a piece of cheese before I go to bed. If I don't eat at lease 900 calories I wake up in the middle of the night hungery.
  19. I had a rash like this after surgey. It lasted 7-10 days and then went away. My doctors weren't concerned about it.
  20. I take one potassium pill everyday and my levels are perfect according to my blood work.
  21. At 4 months out I am eating about 2-3 dense protein at a time. I try to get in about 900 calories a day and 80 proteins.
  22. I am 4 months out and I will wake up in the middle of the night hungry if I don't eat dense protein before I go to bed. This seems to help as I don't want to start getting up and eating in the middle of the night!
