    I also really hate pushups. I am still modifying it by using a bar setup and we do go lower each time, but damn..I am struggling by like that 7th or 8th rep.
    However, I noticed the other day that I am getting that like nice bump of muscle on the top of my arm. Now if the bottom bat wing would just drop off it would look like Fiddle's arms

    I always wake up with this tightness in my back..so I did that stripper stretch you were referencing Fiddle..and oh man felt so good. Trainer thought I pre stretched before I got into the training session because he is used to having stretch me before we get started.

    I definitely won't be popular with this response..but why the hell would you cut 85% of your stomach out to be healthy only to die of Lung Cancer because you can't quit smoking..
    And yes I am a reformed smoker so I can say that. I quit smoking on December 3rd, 2012 at 6pm and have NEVER looked back. I wish you luck in not continuing to smoking but if you are looking for validation to continue from this gal..you aren't gonna get it. I am sure there will be others who will say they continued to smoke etc., but to me it just makes no sense.

    Last week was such a crappy week for me workout wise. I lost like 3 pounds but I had SH*TTY training sessions..like to the point I felt like I let my trainer down. He even asked me if I felt okay because I wasn't my usual self. So I am going to bounce back this week and remove the words "I can't" from my vocabulary!
    I am also needing to increase my calories, which is a bit of a scary thought for me..I am around 1,200 a day now at 6 months out. According to my TDEE which I adjusted for having less lean body mass I need to be somewhere around 1,500 calories a day to lose weight.
    Furthermore, I need more sleep. According to my UP band..I am only averaging like 6 hours of sleep a night.
    Anyway..that is my confession!

    Sleeved 2/12/13..down 56 pounds..been in a bit of weird stall the last three weeks..I bounce up and down the same two pounds. But the clothes I bought a month ago are too big now so there is that.
    I am also changing my diet up to incorporate more calories as well as fruits and vegetables too.

    So I have been looking around researching different information sources on lifting specifically relating women and what are some of the goals, timeline, workout plan etc., that I can aspire to.
    Holy Crap there is a lot of information out there and everyone and their mom seems to have a differing opinion. So I thought I would ask you guys! What are some of the forums/blogs/website you follow?
    I honestly am not sure what I am looking for. All I know is that I love lifting weights and I never thought I would and want to learn more!

    You know I don't know whether to send you a hug or throttle you! How many times have you given the advice to take things slow and steady, work the sleeve and it will work for you? How may newbies have you smacked over the head for getting discouraged and wanting to give up or convinced they broke their sleeve? How many others have you helped believe in themselves and that the struggle and sweat and tears are all worth it?
    No one will believe in you until you believe in yourself. Now take some of that advice that you so freely dish out! I may not always agree with everything you say, but I do respect you enough to know that you genuinely care and now you need to point all that good advice inwards. Forgive yourself, heal yourself, love yourself...that's all I got.
    Oh and the scale is JUST A NUMBER..I swear to god I am going to get that tattoed on my ass.

    I would agree with the strength training! I never thought I would be one of those girls who like to "lift weights" but I am FAST falling in love with it.
    Check your local rec center or your YMCA, they often will have programs that include strength training and cardio combined. If you can afford it hire a trainer for a few sessions or there are a number of videos on proper form etc.
    I also think you need to get out of your own head with what someone has arbitrarily defined as "enough". You are moving and losing weight and that seems pretty darn fine to me.

    I quit smoking 4 1/2 weeks ago - I was one of those people that was going to smoke on my deathbed. No one else thought I would quit either. My motivation is wanting this sleeve to heal up tight. I didn't want to do anything that interfered with the process.

    Wow, sitting here and reading this thread has my crying as I want for all the things I wish to do. My life has been so limited by size. I have weighed over 400 lbs for 30 years.
    Here are some fitness goals in no order of desire and not taking into account whether my hips and knees will even be able to support me in them:
    Martial arts- I have always wanted to learn
    Hiking, biking, rowing, kayaking
    My biggest one really, the one that has haunted my mind since I watched some documentary, when i was 19, on people who did it is to hike the entire international Appalachian trail. I'm from Canada so I feel the need to add the part that enters my home land.
    My family were never outdoors people. I have never camped, never hiked, never walked more than 3 miles(and that hurt my body so bad I couldn't walk for days afterwards)
    Well you asked my goals, but i gave you my dream.
    For now a small goal: just bloody go outside and walk everyday while the weather is still good. Might not seem like much, but for someone who has been sedentary her entire life and spent 10 solid years as a shut-in, and the last 10 digging out from that life it is a big thing to make and keep that commitment.
    Thankyou all for sharing your goals, I appreciate that others will talk about what the want for a life besides losing weight.
