  3. I'm still at the same weight! no loss for well over a month. probably going on two months. but right now i just can't exercise and eating right has kind of gone out the window. i just need to graduate college and get back home to get back on track!
  4. I'm 4 mos post op and I can eat about 3/4 cup of food depending on what it is.
  5. I haven't updated in a long time. I'm up a few pounds and I haven't exercised in three weeks. I probably won't get back on the wagon until May :[ Next three weeks are so horrible and busy there's no way I can get my butt moving.

    hair loss

I'm 15 weeks post op and the hair has been falling out within the last week. I think part of it is my fault because I wasn't diligent enough with my vitamins. I have very very curly hair, so no one can really tell. It's just nerve wracking when I see it all come out on my fingers in the shower and when I run my hands through it. I've thought about cutting it short, but I think I'm just going to try and deal with it for as long as I can until it gets really noticeable. I would totally be fine with wearing a lace wig. I'm already looking at some on the internet lol

    Loose skin?

you might need more high intensity workouts to build muscles. things like squats and wall pushups or regular pushups on the floor since you can't afford a gym membership. have you checked out youtube? they have lots of great workouts you can do at home. can you purchase weights? what i've been doing is just buying 1 weight and using it for both arms, and when i need to increase the weight, buy 1 again at a higher weight (that way you save a little bit of money)
  10. I have PCOS as well, and I went 9 months without my period prior to surgery. 2 days later, it came! It was really light though. Then the next two months, I bled and bled. It was awful. I wasn't on BC, or doing anything for my PCOS. I'm just hoping weightloss will help with the symptoms and regulating my cycle.
  11. My sleep schedule was and still is a mess. And I'm 3.5 months post op. I was only able to sleep in 4 hour increments, I couldn't stay asleep. I felt like a zombie. Couldn't focus, cried a lot, couldn't even fall asleep to take a nap. I've been on ambien, but now I'm such a light sleeper, even muffled talking wakes me up. I used to sleep like a log! But it's gotten a little better even in the last 3 weeks for me.
  12. hair loss has started :

  13. Hi Everyone, So this week I'm on pureed food. I'm finding it SO difficult not to drink while eating food. I've done it a few times, and then I can't eat as much, making me feel full super fast. I know that I'm not supposed to because it makes the food slide through faster, so I'm trying very hard not do it. I've always been a huge drinker of beverages while eating. After eating, my mouth just feels so dry and I want to reach for a nice glass of cold Water. I was thinking maybe gum might be a good option? I can pop it in my mouth, and boom, saliva to help with thirst. (My nut says gum is okay to chew and mints). What do you after you eat to help stop the urge to drink something? Was this something easy for you to overcome or do you still struggle with it? Any tips would be great!

    Biggest loser conspiracy!

I remember listening to a podcast of a former contestant (I'm gonna search for the link now) and she said she didn't care if she wasn't supposed to talk about it, but they literally dehydrate themselves and are terrified to drink water and exercise with layers and layers stuff and just sweat it out. they're even afraid to eat. everything they show on camera is a sham, and the crew treats the contestants like **** (cattle as she called it). so i don't think i'd ever want to be on that show because some of them leave with even worse disordered eating than they started with.
  19. ugh the scale is back up 4 pounds. saw a counselor on campus, and I don't think I'm going back.

    how's your pcos/ periods

I went 9 months without having my period pre-op. Only had hair loss when I was first diagnosed at 15. Had surgery 12/17/12. Then a two days after surgery I got my period very lightly for a few days. It's been regular ever since then (always off by a two days or so). First 2 times were really heavy. Then this month it was only heavy the first 2 days and light the rest! Part of the reason I got this surgery was to help my PCOS. However, even 10 weeks post op I'm noticing my hair is coming out a little more.
  21. I'm 10 weeks post-op and I eat about 1,000 calories. Sometimes a lot less. Yesterday I ate a lot of carbs, so that took me out of ketosis (I could smell the difference). But it does take our body some time to get used to our diet change. Are you exercising at all? That might help the scale move a little faster.

    plateaued?!?!

Yup! I had this problem too. It lasted for a few weeks, but now the scale is slowly moving again. I'll take a pound or two a week loss than nothing. It will move again! Are you exercising/walking?

Healthy, I am Healthy.....how can this be healthy?

That's great to hear you're in great health! Fat doesn't always equal unhealthy! There are plenty of healthy fat people out there. Are you familiar with the Health at Every Size movement? It's something to look into as well as the Body Positivity movement. Focuses more on healthy eating and exercise rather than just the numbers on the scale. There are plenty of unhealthy thin people out there too! I look at this surgery as a tool to force me to eat better because without it, I probably wouldn't have, and when I got older my health would've been in bad shape. Congrats to you!
