  1. I am 5 months out and I remember feeling just like you. Fast forward 4 months and its a whole different ball game. No regrets! Down 75 pounds, eating more reasonable portions and able to drink an entire water bottle within an hour. I remember sipping thinking I can live like this! Rest assured it gets easier with time. Things are very swollen and your main focus right now is healing. The rest will come in time, you'll see...each day you'll start to feel a little bit better. I have so much energy now, going to the gym and feeling better than my previous self. Best wishes to the both of you! You'll be surprised how fast time will go by, you're going to do great!
  2. I'm 3 1/2 mos out and had a great experience. Best wishes!

    Tummy tuck/thigh lift photos

You look amazing. It's amazing how youthful it makes your skin look. Are there scars for the thigh lift, not familiar with how that works.
  4. Checking in 221 this morning which means I need to lose 11 this month to make goal. Going to try hard!

    All of my December sleevers...

I'm eight weeks out tomorrow and down 32# I tried a small tenderloin steak yesterday for the first time, what a relief that my tummy liked it. Just in time as I was getting burned out on shakes to get in my protein. My routine is a protein shake blended with 1.5 cups of spinach, 1/4 banana and pb2 for breakfast, fish, yogurt or cottage cheese for lunch, cheese stick, am salad or PB cracker snack, and various dinner. I've been averaging 60 grams protein but yesterday got 91. Still finding it difficult to get in all my water though.

    My fitness pal question

On the computer I was able to change the automatic distribution of calories to reflect the high protein low carb settings I needed. Otherwise it wanted to keep changing the carb amounts to a higher amount. I'm 6 weeks out with a calorie limit of 800 aiming for 60-80 grams of protein, less than 40 of carbs.

    My fitness pal question

Not sure about your phone capabilities, but I have an iPhone and could only change the food goal settings on my actual computer.

    carbs

I have been curious if we are meant to count all carbs or just net carbs. I've noticed some atkinds items for example say 4 net carbs but on the back label it shows 21 total. I was given percentages 40% protein (60+gms). 30% carbs and no more that 30% fat. Following the rules of protein first, veggies second, no drinking 30/30 etc.

    eggs

I am just past 2 weeks and not allowed eggs yet, but I have a great non stick pan that I use a tiny spray of Pam, put egg in, when almost set I add a little water and cover. I like the texture of a basted egg, similar to poached but easier.
  12. I enjoyed the packets of egg drop soup, I just didn't add the egg. I was on clear liquids for first week and this was my favorite! SF jello and Popsicles were nice too, I was able to chew and feel satisfied. I find that warm liquids go down easier so I love my camomile tea too. For week 2 I am using the unflavored protein in just about everything. I didn't get much protein first week on clears, stomach couldn't handle acidity of isopure. I know a lot of people use the unjury broth. I was told not to worry to much about anything other than hydration and resting to insure healing. Some items I was suggested to have at home from Dr were gas x strips, dial soap, gauze, gentle tape and heating pad. I'm 2.5 weeks out and it gets easier every day!
  13. I am 9 days post op today. Last night at about 11:30 I woke up with pressure in my chest, I could taste a off taste just by breathing. I had an urge to cough, when I did I felt the need to spit up. It was yellow stomach acid, small amount. I walked around a bit coughed and a bit more came up but was relieving the best pressure. I made a cup of peppermint tea and got back into bed, nauseated feeling subsided and I slept at a 45 degree incline til4:30 when
  14. I woke up not near as bad as before but slightly nauseated. Tis time it just felt like a little heartburn. I took my Prilosec. I had posted what was going on with me last night on my fitness pal and had 2 people communicate to see Dr for possible leak. What other symptoms might I have with a leak? I have never had acid reflux, what are those symptoms? I have been feeling great til now, no pain meds, great energy level, no fever. I plan to call Dr this morning after office opens but would be grateful for your feedback.
  15. No pain. Fluids get easier each day. Jello and popsicles are a nice change from the broth. Nice to chew something!
  16. Got home last night. Doing well. I had some pretty bad heartburn, I think as a result of isopure. I'm settling in well and looking forward to see progress. Thanks!
  17. I just got home yesterday from having sleve done with Aceves. I can't say enough good things. There was another lady there who had just had a revision and was doing amazingly well. I had the pleasure if talking with her and she is highly educated, spent a lot of time researching and was thrilled with her results. If you private message me I will see if she fill vontact you hirectly if interested. I know that during my research he has been praised for being the best at revisions. He's cautious and gives you extra home at thd hospital to recover. He has performed a lot of revisions and that's why you read so much, many doctors refuse to mess with it. Do your research and it will give you the piece of mind you need.
  18. After delayed fights and having to change airlines to get home we are finally home!! I feel I over did it a bit yesterday, so I'm feeling a little uncomfortable today. How soon did you all start your ppi after surgery?
  19. I am feeling well. Tonight is my last night here. I have no pain other than a little pressure ( mostly gas) the heating pad, gas x and WALKING bring relief. I have had a very pleasant experience. The staff if wonderful and I've been relaxed through it all. Each day you feel remarkably better and better, so I am so grateful to have the luxury of staying a whole 3 nights before heading home. It's given me plenty of time to feel confident about going home and get questions answered. There are new people arriving daily and it's nice to visit while walking in the halls and encouraging each other. The drain has come out, (didn't hurt) all 3 leaks tests were good, so I'm pretty happy! The soup really is tasty, goes down pretty smooth. They are nice enough to reheat it for me because I am taking my time. The apple juice was pretty easy to get down too! The doctors and nurses are all so very nice. Some speak a little English others not do much but they give you s list of phrases, I also downloaded a translator app that was super handy. I'm heading home first thing tomorrow morning, looking forward to being in my own bed but will miss all the great staff and friends I've met here.
