  1. Well, i'm not hispanic but my in-laws are Nicaraguan and I could swear I was Hispanic in another life. I absolutely love lechon asado and arroz con gandules, and my husbands sister owns a cuban restaurant so those cuban sandwiches have been freeflowing.......when we go to his moms house its always pasteles and café being put in front of me.....so, i have changed how i prepare these. I use brown rice and always cook the beans seperately, i season the meats the same way and just bake then instead. Not quite the same, but it works, i have seriously cut back on the cuban sandwiches though.....
  2. if the liquid is hotter than 140 degrees it can break down the protein, kinda like gum that has been chewed one time too many times and just desentigrates in your mouth. As long as it isnt much hotter than than this it should be fine, but Click has a really good line of coffee protein drinks.
  3. i would call and ask, be prepared to pay up front beause it is an elective procedure.
  4. Yeah, he definately has some jealousy and insecurity issues, with all that attention hes afraid you're going to get. he wilol definately be OK, do this for you and your son and keep it pushin....
  5. OMG, I am so looking forward to wearing smaller shoes, my feet are an 11, but i have t buy a 12 due to width, hard to find cute shoes in a 12.......
  6. I have heard a lot of good things about this workout, and if you can get past the throwing up stage it has great results. i guess its kinda like those people on the Biggest Loser, they are just not used to the physical activity, but once they get past those first few workouts their good. i just recently bought one called Supreme 90 Day off ebay, its supposedly like P90x and so far its a great workout.
  7. Nothing like having a supportive pcp, mine was supportive from day one, love her...... Sent from my iPhone using VST
  8. Well, I told just about everyone that I work with.....I work in healthcare and there is a lot of support out there. As far as family, I haven't been phoning up everyone and telling them, but it's no big secret either....in the end it's whats best for me and my health and I will be having the surgery regardless of anyone elses opinions. my immediate family is supportive and thats all that matters.
  9. two a day should do ya, I like the grape frost. they have more flavors in GNC, but thy cost about a dollar less in vitamin shoppe.
  10. Unfortunately I haven't tried Isopure powder, have not been willing to buy it because they don't offer samples. I do know that Syntrax Nectar has a Double Stuffed Cookie that is awesome with soy milk.
  11. You have to buy it in stores like GNC & Vitamin Shoppe, or online; luckyvitamin.com is the cheapest i've seen, and they ship pretty fast too. vitamin shoppe tends to have lower prices than GNC.
  12. chapstick, comb and brush, of course a toothbrush, and toothpaste, and i would wear pajamas to the hospital so i could wear the same ones back home. And your tablet or ipad and charger and your cell phone and charger.....
  13. try liquid vitamins, Centrum has one that you can find in walmart and alive has one that you can find in GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, but its more expensive than centrum, i use it now, its not too bad, i chase it with water
  14. well that kind of protein is a "last resort" type of protein, but you can buy New Whey in WalMart for like 2.50 a piece, and they also have it in 6 packs. It also comes in several different flavors. If you are absolutely struggling to get in your protein, its a good way to catch up. But i would not use it as my only source of protein.
  15. well itnis really no ones business when you think about it; as for telling your supervisor, as far as i know, you dont have to tell them what tupe of surgery, just that you are having surgery, if you dont think they will support you, why tell them anyway...
  16. you can buy it at GNC and vitamin shoppe, after you try individual bottles, if you like it luckyvitamin.com has the cheapest price per case, i use tht site a lot
  17. try isopure zero carb fruit drinks in the glass bottle..
  18. use what you can afford, six star elite is good, walmart has it for less than $20, whey tech is good frim vitamin shoppe, but it costs more
  19. take prevacid or prilosec, you can buy both of them over th counter....dont eat for two hours before bedtime, if you feel like you have to throw up just go ahead and get it over with; it gets rid of the extra acid and resolves the problem for the time being
  20. welcome, look forward to following your journey...????
