Nope. You get a lot less self concious and pre occupied with food. I couldn't care less what other people are eating, or really what I'm eating to tell the truth. Going out now is more about being social and catching up with people and less about the food and what I can consume.
I order what I think will sit well (I'm 8 weeks post op). I eat my Protein first. I eat slowley and usually finish (eating, not my plate) about the same time as everyone else. I have never, for second, felt like I was missing out.

Hey , I wouldn't worry yourself . We all loose differently , I just had my 2nd office visit yesterday , I'm lost 25 lbs since surgery , that was on 11/14/ 12 .. I walk a lot as well it's important . My Doctor also said I could work out , I mean it's already been a month . Like I said dont worry it will come off

Hi , I just had surgery about a week an a half now , I'm a little sceard , noing that theirs staples in my stomach , my belly feels heavy evry time I drink my Protein Shakes or drink Water, why is that? Well I'm just happy to say that after one week after my first ck up I have lost 20 lbs .. ????

My surgery is also the 14th! Woohoo! I cannot wait. I am on day 4 of my pre-op diet. It consists of 3 Protein Shakes, 2 Protein Bars and 1 tiny meal for dinner. About 1000 calories. It's hard but is going well! I have lost 3lbs so far since starting it. 51lbs down... way too many to go LOL!

Hello. Mine is the 15th. After working on this for over a year and a half. I still am not believing it is going to happen until I check in.
I went yesterday for all of my pre op with the MD and the hospital. I am a nurse but good grief I had no idea I would be there 6 hours!! I am glad that is over.
This is a great site. It is great to see everyone on the same journey. My family and friends are supportive but they just don't "get" what all I am feeling right now. It helps to see I am not alone.

I'm scheduled for Nov 14th and this is also Day 3 of liquid diet. Boy, I just have to think "one day at a time" and then remind myself of all the years of overindulging, I cannot feel sorry for myself for being "deprived" for 14 days! I let myself have one cup of coffee each day with 1TB Creamer . . . I think that saves me!
