    Tummy tuck scars.

Im with you on that.. I have no prob with a scar nor does my hubby.. but if that will get me into a one piece suit that looks great.. who cares.. I will be happy to weigh 150lbs.. not a problem and with all the extra skin and fat gone.. a small price to pay..and a reminder to not let that happen again.. skinny forever.

    Progress - 4 Months Out

wow you look amazing.. NOW thats what Im talking about.. great job.. I cant wait til I look that good. Im down also 53 lbs since dec20th.. and things are great.. way to go.. very beautiful.
  3. LOL I live on sugar free popsicles.. best thing ever made.. Im addicted.. But in all seriousness.. sip sip sip is the key..and if that bothers you.. some have said try your water at room temp.. not sure what that does.. but it helps some.. I had no issues other than my taste buds changed.. I didnt like anything other than broth and the popsicles.. but im on to other things now.. im post op from dec 20th.and it does get a whole lot better.. even tho my doc says im still healing and that takes like 12 weeks. I can pretty much tolerate most.. not chili tho.. my tummy didnt like it.. or scrambled eggs.. yuck.. which Im glad my stomach doesnt like alot of things.. makes eating easier.. but truely things will get better.. but make sure you get your fluids in .. you dont want to wind up in the hospital dehydrated.. not a good thing.. but Im here to tell you it gets better the further out you get.. just keep on sipping.. best of luck to you.. and welcome to the club.

    Weight loss goals

Im 5'8 and Im post op from dec 20th.. Never at anytime has my doc told me my goal was unrealistic.. My goal is 150 lbs too.. ive down 53.8 lbs.. and things are going well... My doc has been nothing but supportive.. so has my nurse and continue to tell me every visit how well Im doing.. Im also been asked to do a testimonial for their website..and speak at his seminar in March.. So I think Im doing great.. I dont like it when someone like that is a debbie downer.. everyone is different.. if you could never reach your goal then what is the point of surgery anyways.. I have a co-worker who tells me on a regular basis "Im not going to have surgery just to lose weight. Im going to do it the old fashion way".. and no wonder she is still over weight and not getting anywhere.. we will see I told her.. Im on my way to my goal.. and she will still be over weight. so dont let them get you down.. I dont.. best of luck to you.

    New Member - Annie :)

welcome Annie.. I too was not over weight as a child either.. my wt came from having children..and I never got rid of it.. I tried many diets as you have.. but failed terribly.. so glad I found the sleeve.. I had surgery in dec. on the 20th.. im down now 52.6lbs.. amazing.. never could do that with the other diets scams.. mine came so fast.. heard about it in nov and surgery in dec.. helped that the doctor I went to works at the hospital I work at..and the insurance I have thru the hospital accepted that surgery.. so everything went so fast.. I didnt have time to think or change my mind.. jumped thru all the hoops and quickly too.. so did my hubby.. he was sleeved one week after I was. and onward to our journey to skinny people lol.. im taking a cruise with my hubby in May..and I hope to be looking at least good by then.. Im sure I will be.. you will be pleased im sure how well things go.. I wish you all the best of luck..and please keep us up to date.. we do read this stuff lol.. least I do anyways.. I know what its like to be new to the site.. cant wait til I get to what we call onederland.. in the 100 and somethings.. tired of being in the twohundredland..for sure.. take care..
  6. not as of yet.. but then im only down 52.6 lbs.. not enough yet for the skin thing. my doc said it was going to be unavoidable.. so not looking forward to that.. but he did say my insurance would pay to fix some of that.. so that was a plus for me right there .

    6 days post op

yes had that the first week due to the diet.. then after that everything was ok.. I dont have a gallbladder so I dont normally have issues.. but all is well. and that is normal.. hope things are going well for you other than that small problem lol.. you are just starting your journey.. keep us all posted on your weight loss and troubles.. seems there is lots of advice here.. mostly keep in contact with your doctor.. I love mine.. he is great.. him and his nurse.. they are my life savers.. I do what im told to do.. and I eat what they tell me to lol.. not like before when food ruled my life.. now im in charge.. great feeling.. best of luck to you.

    Chinese food....yuck

I used to love chinese food.. but im scared to try it now.. so I think I will take note of all the other experiences..and stay away from it... might be because the sodium content is off the charts high too.. and to think I used to love that.. oh well.. stuff I love.. I hate now LOL. what a change.
  10. follow all instructions they give you.. walk walk walk.. sip sip sip.. do not gulp. Im post op 9weeks.. piece of cake.. other than some pain a few days down the road.. but get the pain meds they offer.. it will help.. and I dont like pain meds.. I dont take anything.. but this time I was glad I did.. helped me get comfy to sleep.. stick to the diet they provide you with.. I was up and in the chair 15 min after getting to my room..and walking 30 min later in the hall.. had to get moving... wanted to get out of there and start my journey..and oh by the way.. Im 52.6 lbs down already. ) welcome to our journey.. you will be great.. scary at first.. yes.. but it will be great.. best of luck
  11. keep carbs low but not that low.. 600-800 cal for now.. and I eat my 60g of protein.. and no carbonated anything.. no white rice.. no coconut.. ever.. just eat the protein first.. otherwise no real bad limitations.. just watch and eat right.. stay away from fast food..and I keep my sodium low.. I use mrs dash.. your diet is really strict.. I thought my doc was bad lol.. you will be a toothpick in no time.. ive lost 52lbs in 8weeks myself.. and im happy with that..
  12. NancyDec20

    starvation mode?

wow.. I dont go over 800 im told.. but most of that is protein.. the bars are 200 alone.. but I dont need to eat that if I get my 60g of protein in with meat and fish and cheese..and drink my water.. I think once im on track.. I can do under 1200.. but right now im required 800.. but im not ever hungry.. so eating is a hard thing for me.. never thought I would hear myself say that LOL. its all good.. im doing great my surgeon says.. other than over doing it with work..and having some pain as a result.. im great.. no issues.. and weight loss is going fabulous..

    Hello, Im VQ

why do you feel that you being skinny now is a bad thing? most of us here strive to be "skinny". I havent been heavy all my life.. started after having kids..and I too didnt care because I loved food and I loved eating it too. but being big.. people stare.. or refer to you as the big girl. and then the kids that say why are you so fat? I dont see how that can be a good thing.. what advantages of being big could there possibly be? I couldnt name one other that not being cold cuz I was well insulated. are you married or dating or what? Have a support system? Im sorry you feel the way that you do.. but first step in the right direction is to come here and get some answers.. I would like to understand why you feel like you do. you prolly look amazing now.
  14. NancyDec20

    Cheddar cheese

OMG you so eat what I eat LOL thats my fav.. but I eat the weight watchers cheese.. and I put meat with the cheese and its a wheat tortilla.. and I eat the egg white and turkey sausage for breakfast too... but I also buy the baby bel lite cheese and have that for a snack too.. but I do love my cheese.... glad I didnt have to give it up..
  15. I have found that after surgery... I no longer like all that stuff..none of it sounds good at all.. I have not tried any of my old favorites.. and I too was a mexican food junkie.. now im afraid to eat any of that stuff for fear of hurting my stomach.. so I guess all that stuff the doc drills in you makes you afraid of food LOL something I'd never thought I would hear myself say... Ive divorced food )
  16. Im 9 weeks out.. I dont go to the gym as of yet.. I have a 3 mo free membership from the hospital I work out.. also where I have my surgery.. I work 2 full time jobs.. both require a lot of walking.. one in a nursing home doing restorative therapy..and a tech at the hospital on the cardiac/cancer unit.. so im on the move a lot.. when im off work.. I do as little as possible lol. Im way tired from working so much.. I will go to the gym when Im ready.. but have had some pulling in my stomach where the port is and where the hernia was.. plus im getting major side aches.. went to the doc.. he said im doing too much over doing it.. thats why the pain.. if it persists for the rest of the week.. I have another appt on thurs. and he will scan me to see if I did some harm.. so im gonna hold off on the gym til after that.. but I will get there in my own time.. Ive never thought of myself as last.. just used to eat a lot is all.. I never had high blood pressure or diabetes or anything else.. but I too well get there when I get there.. im down 52lbs since the 20th of dec.. I dont thing im doing to badly...and my doc is very proud of me and my hubby..he has lost that much too.
  17. Mine was fairly routine.. but some of the same things you are going thru.. I sure didnt want to eat or drink.. and yes I was tired all the time.. slept off and on all day long.. I was extremely emotional.. but at that point I was told my son had been killed.. so I dont know if a lot of that was because of that..and some of it omg what have I done sort of response is all but gone now. .. but now Im 8 weeks out and all the worries and troubles I was experiencing have gotten lots better... and even a couple of weeks ago.. still not wanting to eat much cuz I was scared of weight gain.. but figured out thanks to my hubby that if I was eating the protein.. the weight would for sure come off..and he was right.. has it been easy.. no not by any means.. but I think the new journey that we are all on is a great one..timely yes.. but in the end.. omg the results are going to be fabulous.. a new you.. healthy and beautiful.. right now we are all like in our cocoons..and soon.. we will break out and be beautiful butterflies. this is a great site to come to for support.. there are a lot of us out there..and sometimes we need each other to lean on and help us thru rough spots.. and thats we are here for.. I have a great support system in my hubby he was sleeved 1 week after I was. He has been wonderful and so have my co-workers at both my jobs.. I still get emotional but for I think more for my son.. but Im better today than I have been.. I was never on meds or anything.. just being over weight was my issue . cant wait to get a new wardrobe LOL.. and not need a belt extension when I fly.. but by all means vent.. it helps.. and best of luck on your new journey.. join Us.. )

    Heaviness, tightness

Are you eating it too fast? or possibly drinking to fast too? hopefully not eating and drinking together. I cant eat scrambled eggs anymore. .they didnt make me feel so good.. didnt like the way my stomach felt.. can you have maybe like a boiled or soft cooked egg? maybe the scrambled egg is too dense.. I find if I eat something too dense I dont feel well.. and Im 2 months post op.. try small bites and chew chew chew..and small sips.. taking in too much at a time can cause you some pain..and so does "getting rid" of it.. not good to throw up on a new stomach. you may have to try a few things.. but my advice is to call you doctor and find out why you feel like that.. or your nurse.. my nurse always is helpful.. she is the best. keep us posted.. always like to hear from new people. best of luck with your journey.

    Smaller feet

Thats interesting.. I have not noticed that at all.. hmm I would love that.

    Crybaby right here!

wow so many tomorrow.. and all totally normal at that.. I was petrified.. lol.. so scared.. but all was good.. before I knew it.. poof it was over..and there I was on my way to a new me.. down 50lbs since dec 20th.. welcome all of you to the losers club.. on our ways to a better healthier life.. a new us.. new clothes.. so congrats to all of you.. keep us all updated.. best of luck to you all.
  21. I think that everyone of us has gone thru the "am I making the right decision?" talk with ourselves.. including me.. and let me tell you I have not regretted it one bit.. My surgery date was dec 20th.. Im down 50lbs.. and that is fantastic.. yes things have changed for me.. the way I eat and what I eat..and im more of a label reader than I was before.. as for work.. my husband and I own a construction company. he went back after 2 weeks.. but was still having some restrictions.. I work at the hospital and the nursing home.. Im still on restrictions.. mostly lift ones.. thats about it.. it all depends on how you feel and what your doctor says.. I follow whatever he tells me.. thats the key.. to follow all instructions and you will be successful... I plan on being skinny when I go on my cruise in May.. and so does my Hubby..he looks great now.. he has like 46 more lbs to go and he will be at his goal weight.. he was sleeved dec 27th.. I still have a ways to go.. but really they give you a tool..and its up to you to follow thru.. best thing ive ever done.. like most say..my only regret.. was not doing it sooner.. best of luck in your decision..
  22. NancyDec20

    boyfriend

dump the dude.. mom is always there for you. cant watch his own kids? ... then he shouldnt of helped make them if he didnt want the responsiblitly.. sorry just saying... its true this is about you.. he should be supportive.. not a debbie downer....onward to a new you and a new life.. you will be shocked and amazed at the results.. you get a do over.. take it and run lol.. best of luck to you.
  24. I think for me it too was what I ate.. but you know what.. my stomach does not like that food anymore.. chili hurts my stomach.. so Im gonna guess that other greasy not so good foods will do that too.. Im not taking the chance to hurt my stomach.. and you will learn too that your tastes will change.. things I liked before.. I can no longer tolerate.. I do however tolerate the good stuff.. proteins are great.. Ive done very well with the sleeve.. I gave up soda and my beloved mineral water.. which I dont miss really... I suddenly love water.. bottled water.. gotta have it all the time now.. so things will change for you.. but you are the one who has to make those choices.. not the sleeve.. I dont get hungry.. I dont crave any foods.. actually I really dont have a taste for many foods at all..but I know I have to eat and get in my protein.. the only thing I found difficult.. is shopping.. I have particular tastes.. so finding things to make me happy lol... and be an avid label reader... my hubby and I shop together and we look at other peoples carts and go.. OMG how can that eat that junk.. so my view about foods have changed..and so will yours.. with the help of your nut and dr... follow what they are telling you.. stick to the diets they provide..and you will do fantastic.. im just about 2 months out and have lost almost 50lbs... you will be great.. there are great things to come in your future.. mostly a new you and new attitude about food and yourself..and best of all........SHOPPING FOR NEW CLOTHES... YAY. best of luck to you
