    Having a hard time...

you need to revamp everything... what you eat.. the way you eat it.. you have overcome the first hurdle.. having the surgery.. dont blow that now.. you have been given an important tool.. that tool cannot work on its own.. you have to help it to be successful. did your doc give you list of foods to eat? and you already know fast food is not a good choice.. hence throwing up or dumping syndrome... you need to quit that. you are harming your stomach.. throwing up is not good for it either.. get back on track.. healty foods only.. you need a hobby or join the gym.. go for a walk.. how far are you out? could be head hunger still.. I dont get hungry.. I have to remember to eat is my problem.. when Im home I eat more lil meals.. some nuts here.. a sugar free popsicle here and there.. and I make sure i drink all my liquids.. like crystal light.. and there are some powerades you can drink too that are ok... you dont have to eat those foods.. you choose to.. you can choose not to. Get up and get a job or a 2nd job if you are working.. keep your mind off of things.. go see a therapist about the emotional eating.. get a bike a go for a ride.. please dont harm your stomach by eating wrong.. you will wind up back in the hospital for sure.. with worse problems.. you can do this.. if I can.. you can too. its time to take back your life and not let food rule you.. you are in control.. you can do this..

    Feeling extremely accomplished

good for you.. now is the time to make those changes and you will be prepared for what lies ahead of you after surgery.. great things are in store for you.. best of luck to you on your new journey.. keep us posted.
  3. lol I noticed a lot of things changed.. that too.. I was not an inny.. but I noticed mine is deeper.. I can bend over easier.. I can squat down now.. not doing the golfer pose.. things are easier for me.. stairs are.. I dont get winded like I used to after a couple of flights..so that is great.. I may start wearing necklaces cuz my neck is not as big. it shrank..as did my feet.. almost 2 sizes.. go figure.. odd things I tell you.
  4. wow you have done fabulous.. hope I get that far in the next 3 months.. im at 71lbs and 3 months post op.. was hoping to look great for my cruise in May.. great job.. keep up the work.. you WILL scale that wall for sure.. no doubt about it. thank you for being an inspiration to us.
  5. I have no gain at all.. there was not an option for that choice.. Im post op dec 20th and have not had a stall or wt gain at all.

    New to site

welcome to the site. This is probably the single most important life changing decision ive made.. and not one day has gone by that ive regretted this. just that I didnt do it sooner... Im not as far out as some.. but still farther out than many... its been life changing and I knew that going into this and was ready for that change.. The journey is a life long one.. but the end result is fabulous.. im post op since dec20 and Ive lost 71lbs.. 71lbs of me that I will never see back again.. (thank goodness). If I can do it anyone can.. just remember to follow all the docs and nuts instructions.. and you will be a success... best of luck to you in your new journey.. keep us posted

Did something I probably shouldn't have

Ive done the cheat thing also.. but not that much lol.. I felt bad too and then weighed and was also down in wt.. so it was ok.. didnt do it again cuz it made my stomach hurt so bad.. I buy water at the theater and bring my cyrstal light and put it in the water.. and sip on that thru out the show.. it fills me up..and really I dont miss the popcorn.. I just bring some nuts along.. which are good for you.. but hey we all need a cheat day as long as we dont go overboard on that.. or maybe not getting into the habit of cheating.. im still well on my way.. no probs or issues as of yet... down 71lbs since dec 20.. and im very happy about that.. best of luck to you and your journey..
  10. Im not that far out depending on what you consider far out.. Im post op dec 20 im down 71lbs.. right now im not on any diet.. but I do watch what I eat.. making sure I eat my protein first before anything else.. still losing.. I take in about 800 calories or try to.. some days I dont get that much.. my doc wants me up to 1000 to 1100 but I cant see eating that much food.. I dunno.. im good where im at.. I eat healthy things vs fast food stuff.. I dont weigh my food except for the meat protein..cuz you need a specific amt to get that protein in.. cant eat much more than 3oz of meat anyways.and thats all.. just watch what you eat.. and be an avid label reader..watching for carbs and whatnot... best of luck to you..

    2 new findings this week!

cake and ice cream really? did your nut not tell you thats not a food you should be eating? mine is very specific. sugar free popsicles.. yes.. Im doing so well on my journey.. I would hate to mess it up.. you really should read more about what you can and cannot eat.. Maybe your doc and nut are not as informative as mine are.. but check out what people are eating.. and I can bet money on the fact its not cake and ice cream... or slider foods... Im down 71lbs..and I didnt get there by eating that sort of stuff. I work hard at this tool the doc has given me.. im post op since dec 20th... get back on track and keep on it.. you are off to a great start.. im not saying that everyone of us eats something we arent suppose to.. but I find that when I did.. it wasnt very good at all..my stomach cant handle all that sugary stuff.. but my downfall is the sugar free popsicles.. man are they great stuff lol.. hang in there and make better choices for yourself.. you deserve this.. dont set yourself up for a fall.. be strong.. good luck.

    Just approved and new here!

Good for the both of you.. My hubby and I had surgery 1 week apart. Its been fabulous. He is my biggest supporter and I am his.. we wanted to be healthy.. he was on medication for high blood pressure and diabetes.. he is now off both.. I was not on any.. we are both down 70lbs since dec 20th for me and dec 27th for him.. best thing Ive ever done.. and I too was scared to death.. Im like what the heck did I just do? and after surgery.. Im like ok I know what I did.. I just made things better for myself and my hubby... we are older too.. so not an easy thing for us to do.. we are both early 50s.. very early.. but we are doing great and we are happy.. so welcome to the site and keep us updated on yours and your hubbys journey.. you will learn lots of things here on this site.. helpful things and recipes.. and others experiences.. congrats on your surgery.
  14. That feeling is all normal.. I cried right before they took me in.. I was really scared and nervous but yet happy that im gonna get this done.. when I woke up I was so relieved... thats all I asked of them.. was to make sure I woke up lol.. and its been a ride since then.. so many emotions... but in the ,long run.. so very good.. Only one regret.. I didnt do it sooner.. and Im not down 70lbs from dec20.. so great things on the way for you.. best of luck to you.. and congrats..

    Low iron & vitamin D

I just had my 3 month check up and labs.. mine were excellent.. not low in anything.. good clean bill of health.. and im so very happy bout that.. didnt want to be low in anything. and I wasnt I love my doc and nurse..
  16. I too had the hiatal hernia repair.. never really affected me in anyway...

    Hard to imagine being thin

I have the same problem.. even tho im down 68lbs.. I still dont see it.. even tho everyone says Im getting so thin looking.. I look in the mirror and still see the same me.. I dont get it.
  18. well for one I think the band was too easy to cheat on.. and the sleeve.. well you can only take in so much... if you go over that amt.. you will get sick.. and thats not a fun thing throwing up.. ive read enough on here for that alone to freak me out.. I dont do the throw up thing at all..I too work in a hospital that I had my surgery in..so it was ok.. just wanted to wake up was my only request... thats what I told them.. make sure I wake up lol. the thing about the sleeve is it too is a tool..and like any tool you need to help make it work.. follow the rules.. follow the game plan..follow the doctors orders... its harder to cheat on.. follow your nuts advise on foods to eat.. choose your foods wisely.. walk often... sip sip sip.. and the weight will fall off.. Im post op dec 20th and Ive lost 68lbs..and just started at the gym doing cardio.. and I was never a gym sort of person.. but now I see how important things are..and how food does not rule my life at all.. I work 2 full time jobs and go to the gym.. I figure if I can do it..anyone can..and im not easily motivated at times.. but I do it cuz Im beginning to see a new me.. still cant see what others see and that is hard for me.. I still see the old me.. but I guess one day I will see what they see.. so Im trusting them that I look good.. my labs came back today after a 3 mo check up and they were great.. no loss in any vitamins.. cuz I take them every day faithfully.. so .. get on the band wagon here.. join us in our journeys..share your story and we will help you along the way.. thats what we are here for.. advice and to help each other and be a positive support system.. thats what you need.. positive support.. we are here for you.. good luck
  19. welcome to the club.. it is a great place to get advice and meet new people in the same boat as you are and completely understand what you are going thru.. great recipes.. great advice.. great stories of success.. .im post op dec 20th and down 68lbs.. and feeling great... glad you came out of lurk mode and are sharing your story and introducing yourself.. and again welcome.

    One Year Surgiversary

I sure hope that in a years time I reach my goal.. im down 68lbs in 3 mons and I know im gonna slow down some that eating is almost at a norm now.. even tho im not good at eating yet.. when Im home I do well.. but when im working so much.. I forget to eat and there is no time.. I do get my drinks in most of the time.. so far the doc thinks im great.. went to a support group meeting and there were lots there with the sleeve and the band and the bypass.. and by far ive lost the most in the least amt of time.. which blew me away cuz I thought wow... they had surgery way before me and Ive lost a lot more than all of them... made me feel great that im doing the right thing and working out when I can 3 days a week doing cardo per my trainer.. I have the most fantastic support group in both my jobs and my hubby who also had the surgery a week after I did.. Ive had a huge down fall and was afraid I would not stick to the program and turn back to old ways.. but I didnt... I lost my son. before I would of turned to food.. I was so depressed.. thank goodness for my hubby... he has been my rock thru this all... and he has done so well.. he looks like omg fab.. I may have to start beating women off with a stick LOL. but just you wait.. cuz here I come... feeling good about myself and im in charge of my life now.. not the food.. my life is no longer about food.. taking a cruise in May to congratulate ourselves on how well we have done..and the best part about that.. is not having to ask for an extra seatbelt so I can buckle in.. cant wait.. think I will just cry.. others will not understand.. but I know everyone here will for sure... cant wait for my year anniversary and see where im at there.. I will be in onederland for sure.. and hello new clothes.. my hubby says I can get new clothes for the cruise.. so im so excited about that... of course he gets new ones too.. but I love reading about all the people who are further out than I am.. then I get to know what is in store for me.. no stalls yet or plateaus.... or hair loss for that matter.. but its still early in the game.. so all you year people keep posting so I can see what is coming in the next few months of my journey.. who knows.. maybe I might need a bathing suit.. lol... thanks for all the input.. love it..

    Overate and Feel Lousy

Yes you need to be careful there in the beginning.. it does get better tho.. Im post op 3 mon and things are a lot easier.. yes I do have times where I try something new..and my tummy says oh no you dont.. then I learn that I dont like that.. and I dont over eat cuz I dont like that feeling of overly full... so you learn along the way how much at one time you can eat.. sometimes a cup is just too much.. and I cannot believe im saying that where as before if I were to look at a cup of food and think.. thats not nearly enough lol.. Im loving this new journey and the new me.. have a great day and welcome to the losers club.. cant wait to be in onderland.

    Negative Boyfriend

This is just my opinion ok... Keep the bathing suit cuz you look fab. lose the boyfriend. you deserve someone better than that.. you need someone positive.. and keep up the great work... he is just jealous cuz you are fabulous.
  23. Prayers on the way.. may you be safe on your journey.
  24. I guess I too have been lucky.. have not hit a stall yet... im post op since dec 20.. and wow good for you on your wt loss.. wish mine was that much.. but then again..we all go at our own rate.. I can eat just about 1 cup of food.. depends on what it is.. some I cant.. like walnuts..cant eat many of them at all.. but Im doing great.. best of luck on your stall. .dont worry it will start back up again.. its just your body making some adjustments.. and you will be on your way.

    eating too soon?

I was on clear liq for a week..then on to mushy for 2 weeks.. then finally some added foods like string cheese and strained soups . every doc is different and every nut is different.. I was told cuz my stomach was still healing not to eat reg foods yet. and to follow the phases he has designed.
