My doctor told me no alcohol or caffeine for 6 months because they are both stomach irritants and we are still healing.

I was told not to have chocolate (caffeine) for 3 months. I can have as many sugar free Popsicles as I want.

I'm almost 3 weeks post op. I'm never really "hungry" but the "head hunger" is killing me. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to overcome them? Does it get any easier with time?

Mine was initially denied also. We appealed it and about 6 weeks later they approved it. Had my surgery on November 5th. Hang in there!

My surgeon told me to wait 6 months before consuming caffeine. As saddie said, it irritates the stomach so you should probably wait until you are completely healed.

Thank you Bajanqueen70, that makes me feel so much better.Dianaw I was sleeved on 11/19 and am experiencing the same thing; I was told that it's because our sleeve is still swollen so it would give us that tight feeling...I also had a hiatal hernia repair so that makes it a little worse...I think you''ll be fine...it''ll take some time for that swelling to go away...obviously if you''re still uncomfortable, go ahead and make contact with your surgeon....

Thanks, I will. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.Ask your surgeon, that is what he should be aware of.

I had my sleeve done on November 5th. My concern is from day one of my surgery, I've experienced a "tightness" in my throat. At first I thought it was from drinking too fast but I wake up in the morning with the same feeling. I also had a hiatal hernia repair with my sleeve. I'm beginning to get concerned as to what is causing this and whether or not it will go away.
10 weeks out and I should know better! Geez.
