woo hoooo!!

Right now my house is a diet nightmare: I am on high protein, low carb post sleeve, my son is on high protein for body building (he lost about 60 pounds on his own and wants to keep it off) and we like whole grains BUT hubby has renal failure and is on the transplant list so NO whole grains, only white bread, pasta, etc. Thank God my daughter is healthy, no weight issues! I hate to even think about making a meal....I wish I had a cook.

Carbs are my problem....I love them!

I'm two months out and I've been eating ground meat for about two weeks. I make sure that is ground very fine and I chew the heck out of it. I just couldn't take the chicken, it was too dry. Of course, follow your doc's orders. I live overseas and the docs here don't give much advice lol

Good for you!! Today I was thinking that I need a belt, I've never worn a belt...pants were always too tight

all of you mention that your hair fall started 4-6 months post surgery....mine started almost immediately! now I'm worried that by month 6 I will be bald. I am taking a Biotin and Bepanthene injection, once a day for a month. these injections cost me about $100 for the whole dose, but i'm lucky that hubby's insurance covers it

I love the biscuit comment lol I'm almost 8 weeks out and these are my NSVs: knee and ankle pain is gone back doesn't hurt I sleep through the night without getting up to go to the bathroom two or three times jeans that I've had for a year, that used to fit like leggins, actually fit like jeans! I also can't wait to add new things to this list

Dave and SleeveNZ, I think foreigners are so honest (brutally honest at times).....but think about it, Americans (some) are polite to you and talk about you behind your back :/ I'm not sure which one is worse ??

HI Dave! I am an American living abroad too. I live in Lebanon. I have a similar experience, saw the doc one day and was scheduled for surgery within the same month. Things are different outside of the States, lol I am two months post surgery and I've lost 20 kilos. within ten days my knee and ankle didn't hurt anymore, and I didn't toss and turn all night due to my back pain. Surgery date was October 22nd and I'm down 44 lbs............I live in Lebanon

I was down 26 lbs at 10 days....so I guess it is normal

someone finally noticed that I have lost weight! and it only took a loss of 44 pounds! a patient that I haven't seen in several months came in today....she told me "you've lost weight, did you do surgery?" lol

I think that the date 12-12-12 must be a good sign! You can only do this successfully for yourself, not for others. Good luck and keep us updated.

don't know what to suggest. BUT, my sweet son (who lost about 64 pounds himself) always offers me food, and quickly realizes that it is something that I can't eat----Mom, do you want, oh sorry, I love you mom Lol
