  1. I dream of a day I can have a slice of a bread a wk. Some of the restrictions are ridiculous. Im trying to keep a diet that I can maintain for the rest of my life. I could eat fruits 24/7 but now it's a no which sucks. Im mexican and im used to eating my meals with tortillas, bread, tostitos or something but I remind myself that none of those things will help with getting rid of my fat tummy and these arms that i refer to as cannons:-( Good luck to you too! I dont like to say mean things about anyone but NUT didnt do a very good job preparing me. So im going to have lots of questions. I will post after I meet with my NUT. I've learned a lot from ppl posting on here and im thankful for this site!!


  2. I hate running and walking. I prefer to do zumba or taebo (sp?). today I start wk 3 of c25k. It's been hard but I feel great after im done. I think im going to repeat wk 2 because I dont think I can do wk 3 yet. In between I was walking 30 min but im going to do my zumba videos instead. Idk maybe look into beginners bootcamp.


  3. I was hoping to find something that I could eat sometimes. I get so frustrated sometimes. For example the yogurt I eat I thought I was doing good then someone posted it's got too much sugar. Ugh it's just so hard! I count calories, carbs, and fat (40%, 30%, 30%). Calories I average about 500 a day (not good) but carbs add up quickly! Then I also read an article that said carbs are carbs even if they are net carbs. I've never heard of net carbs. I seriously need a long visit with my NUT! Lol


  4. Im hesitant to buy this bread. I read an article about low carb bread and the comments left. Blood glucose spikes and ppl gain weight. I would post the link but dont how to do it. Im curious as to everyone's opinion in this matter because I've also seen posts here about low carb tortillas...I guess for now I'll stay away from those types of foods:-(


  5. Hi we're close enough am 5'0 @214pd

    Sleeved on 5/11/12 weighing 178 for a total of 35 pds. Problems am having is terrible reflux;( I have never had this before. It gives me bad pains in my chest and choke me in my sleep. I tried so many meds it's depressing. It sadden me to no I did this to myself.

    Meds- inhibitor tums maalox( metoclopramide) Rx nw on Zantac 300mg

    I cnt wait to get over this cause eating is ridiculous. I can hardly eat! Drinking is almost close to impossible.

    I was on zantac once a day then twice a day. I still was getting heartburn until I started taking prilosec. It has worked great! Im 5'0" and weighed 212lbs at sx 11/20/12. Im 187lbs now. Weights coming off slowly but its coming off:-) I hope u find relief soon because even drinking Water was awful.

Would love to hear some more foods that your eating. ( Portion sizes too ) I'm tolerating just about everything ( small portions). I am happy that I lost 25, just wish it was more.. Any suggestions? I am aware that everybody is different.

    I was sleeved on 11/20 and have lost 25lbs since sx. I dont see my NUT for a few more wks and im curious too why im losing so slow. Im barely on my 3rd wk of working out because of some set backs. My calories are nowhere near 1100 and fluids are at most 40oz a day. Im losing so I guess I cant complain:-)

  8. Thank you ! Is egg whites better then just regular eggs ? Can you gimme like a sample of what your meal plan is looking like ? I feel like I live off Protein powder and yogurt right now

    I use egg beaters. I was eating cream of wheat, oatmeal, yogurt, beef Jerky (chew very well), chicken broth, mashed potatoes. ..Are you taking prilosec or zantac? I was started with 1 zantac a day then went to 2. I found that 1 prilosec in the morning works great because I haven't had anymore heartburn since. My dr wanted me on something gor at least 2 months.


  9. I also bought 4 oz containers to bring to work. I measure or weigh my food so I know exactly what im eating. So I eat 2-4 oz a meal. When I go to restaurants its harder but I have done ok so far. I stop at the slightest sign of feeling satisfied. Im 7 wks out.


  10. I use fitness pal and it helps keep me on track. chicken tamales? Those I would believe are too fattening so those are "no". I wasnt even eating half of what your eating at that stage plus my NUT said 1/4 cup was normal at that stage. Im 7 wks out and struggle with 1/4 cup a meal sometimes. Are you drinking plenty of Water? I try to drink as much as I can in between meals. I would call your NUT and start with sticking to their diet.


  11. I haven't started on solid food yet but I'm not sure I will be able to eat the amount of solid Protein a day to get me to 80 grams. Maybe I'm missing something but the math doesn't add up. Lets say you have an egg or two for breakfast' date=' thats 12g. For lunch you have 2 or 3oz of chicken, that's 21g. For dinner you have 3oz of steak, that's another 21g. That is only 54g, which I don't believe is enough. Down the road I'm guessing I will HAVE to rely on at least one Protein shake a day to ensure that I get enough.

    I struggle to get my protein but I always have 2 Snacks. Its usually greek yogurt I think it has 12 grams. I bought beneprotein and u can add it to food or drinks. I usually add it to swiss miss diet hot chocolate. If im still low on protein I will have a greek yogurt before bed. Thats with a shake in the morning. I dont think I could get close if it wasnt for the shake because im never hungry in the morning.

    I keep my eating separated from my exercise. And most machines are not that accurate about calories burned. I eat as well as I can and exercise as well as I can without tracking calories. For example I try and exercise for 45 minutes and switch between fat burning zone and cardio zone every other interval. I just track Protein and Water amounts. Additionally' date=' I try and limit carbs as much as possible but do not tend to stress too much about counting either because my food choices tend to be low carb. I tend to live by the KISS rule and pick strategies that I can maintain without much fuss while losing weight.[/quote']

  13. I hadnt thought about it but I went to the hospital website where NUT works and I found an updated list. I can have vegetables on Thursday!! I will be 7 wks then so I can have raw vegetables. Woohoo!! Thank God for the little things in life:-)
