I started at 248- I'm now at 173 so 75lbs gone forever! I was wearing a very tight size 20 and 2x top. I'm now in 10/12 bottoms and medium or large tops.

ashelaine got a reaction from scrapbasket in When do you start dropping sizes?
It took me 2 1/2 months and almost 60lbs to go down a size (I started stuffed into a 20)- in the next 42lbs and 7ish months- I have gone down 6 sizes. I've gone from a 2x top and 20/22 bottoms to 6/8 bottoms and a small or medium top. I posted in another thread earlier that I volunteer a lot at my girl's school- a lot of people haven't seen me since may. I have lost maybe 20lbs since may, but EVERYONE has commented on my weightloss- it's as if the other 80lbs never existed! It's crazy to realize that a 5lb loss now brings out bigger clothing and outside "audience" reactions than before! I'm also 4'11- so 5lbs on me is a little different than 5lbs on someone who is 6' or even 5'6!

trust me when the scale started going up I panicked a bit a few lbs isn't going to kill me. I've gained and lost over 1000 lbs in my life. This time I get a baby as a prize. I'm ok with putting in the work after baby comes to slim back down.

I just had my little dude 5/1. I basically threw up/felt nauseous from week 5-29. I still randomly threw up until the end of pregnancy (including in labor-awesome). I really didn't gain weight until my last few weeks because of all the throwing up. Emmett was born perfectly healthy at 37 weeks 7lb 2oz and 21".

I ate like a horse the whole time I was pregnant and I'm still eating more (I'm breastfeeding). Everyone says baby and I are both great. I'm also at my lowest weight. 128lbs.

Here's some pics- I started in Nov 2012- date of surgery I was 248. I got pregnant Sept 2013- 10 months post op. I was 20lbs from goal. 150lbs

Those "after" pics were taken right before I found out I was pregnant.
Just for comparison sake- this is me the day before I had my son and two weeks after. I'm currently 131. I'm currently in a size 4-6 and small (which are some times too big). I'm 4'11 and most of my weight is boobs and excess belly skin. (The flabby picture was taken 1 week after my son was born).

ashelaine got a reaction from butterfyeffect in What's the timeline for eating some of these typical foods?
I noticed a lot of the people who commented are freshly sleeved. I'm 19 months out- maintaining again after getting pregnant and having a baby 6 weeks ago.
There are two types of people: those that have to follow the total abstinence plan- if they take one bite of a not so healthy food it sends them straight down the rabbit hole and they continue to make those choices. So, those people can't do moderation.
Then there are people (I fall into this category) that had this surgery to eat like a normal human being. I have 4 kids- I have had a tiny piece of cake at their birthdays, I have eaten pizza, Mexican, bagels- etc etc. I have two girls and for me it was VERY important to be able to show them that being "healthy" isn't about depriving yourself. In my opinion- that was setting them up for failure in their own relationship with food. Being healthy is about realizing that bad foods are to be eaten in moderation (I'm talking rarely for the really bad ones). Eating 1 slice of pizza is not going to Sabotage my life because I will eat my one piece of thin crust and be happy and I won't eat it again for another month or two.
I eat Mexican food often- I can eat one street style taco this far out (even when I was pregnant and my sleeve let me eat more). Most of the time hubby and I split fajitas and I eat the beef on a small corn tortilla with sour cream, cheese, guac, and Beans. This was probably the first of your list of foods I tried (I'm from Texas- Mexican food is a staple here)
Lasagna- I tried Pasta for the first time maybe 4-5 months out. I still to this day can not eat much Pasta at all. I do however make lasagna often with zucchini slices instead of noodles.
Bagels- I eat Bagels probably once a week now- with peanut butter- when I was in weight loss not as often. I probably tried one for the first time 6 months out.
I can't remember what else was on your list specifically, but by 6 months I had tried almost everything again. My sleeve has no issues with certain foods- I just can't eat as much of certain things.
I'm also eating about 500calories more than normal currently because I am breastfeeding, so I can have a few more of the "bad" things on occasion

Congrats on your sweet boy . I just had my little one May 1. I hope you have a smooth rest of the way! I got pregnant 10 months out- I was 20lbs from goal. I lost a bunch of weight from hyperemesis (severe morning sickness). I'm now at goal (I sit between 128-133).

On the other hand, I had this surgery to regain control of my eating. Denying myself during diet after diet was a vicious cycle of denial followed by binge eating. I refuse to ever do that again. My restriction is a wonderful tool that has helped me get back on top of my weight and I refuse to live the rest of my life on a "diet".
I will always log. I will always exercise. I will always eat my protein first. I will *not* deny myself a bite or two of foods I love like I've done for the last few decades. That was my biggest downfall.

Don't stress . I didn't get pregnant that quickly after surgery, but I had hyperemesis with my 6 week old. I threw up everything I are for 23 weeks- and the second I quit throwing up pre-term labor started. I was not considered high risk by my OB. I had an 8 week, 20 week, 24 week and 30 week ultrasound. (The last two were to check on minor issues found at my 20 week ultrasound that resolved). Baby grew ahead the entire time. He was 21" and 7lb2oz. He's now 6 weeks old almost 23" and 9lband change.

Hi! I'm 28- I did have two kids before surgery, and just had baby number 3 May 1st. I'm 4'11. I was 248 before surgery (although I think I gained after that point, too.). I was a size 20/22. I was 131 this morning when I weighed. I'm currently in a size 6-ish? Sometimes 4 rarely an 8. I wear size small tops and smalls in most dresses/maxi skirts. I will attach a pic of me one week post baby. I haven't taken any more pics since, but I will. My belly is saggy(but that was there fat or now lol). It's easily hidden in clothes and I'm not looking to be a bikini model. I attached a pic of me in a sleeveless dress also. My arms have always been semi toned (I was pretty athletic through high school) and my thighs are decent, too. The very top is a little wrinkly, but it's not overly noticeable even in a bathing suit.
