Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Just got back from going out to dinner. First time since surgery. Went to a Peruvian restaurant in West End. I ordered a chicken curry. It had potatoes in it and rice on the side. I just ate the chicken. I'd estimate I ate less than 100g. That's not the cool bit. I can't believe the almost disregard I had for the food. It was really liberating. I felt more engaged with the people I was with and I enjoyed what I ate, but to be honest it was probably the first time ever that socialising was the top priority for me in a situation like that and not what I could consume. It felt good. Deano

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
If it were me when I RSVP'd I say 'I've had surgery recently, so I'm not eating very much, but I'd love to come' No need to feel guilty then.

If he's paying who cares! Seriously, I think it'd quite empowering to go and eat a planned amount of food and nothing else. Why should you miss out?

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
I can't wait to get back into training as well. Looking forward to what it feels like much lighter. I'm expecting to lose a lot of strength, but what can you do. I've lost 18kgs as well. I told everyone at work what I was doing. I was a little concerned about what the reaction from some would be like, but everyone's been really supportive. I in a Detective with the Queensland Police, so as you can imagine I have some pretty strong personalities in the office - pretty hard for them to say anything when I say things like "can't eat that since I've been gutted like a fish". Mind you they've all seen my weight yo-yo by about 20kgs over the years, training like a madman and my weight slowly creeping up. I appreciate the support. But if anyone did have a negative opinion, they're just ignorant. Good to hear your travelling well, Deano

Only Down 9 Lbs
Nice one. That's a much better headspace. I really value this forum, but the one thing that's not so great is comparing losses to each other. We're all different and will lose weight differently. Good luck! Deano

There would be someone on the GC that would specialise in WLS surely. I'm in Brisneyland. I see Marg Brooke. She was great. I see her in the Surgeons rooms at Chermside, but she's at Red Hill.

Hey, just a suggestion but where do you live? Maybe someone on here can recommend a dietician that they're seeing that might be better / cheaper. Hope you're feeling well soon. Deano

After Surgery What Can I Take For Energy?
I'm 20 days out and have better and more consistant energey now than I have a years. I suspect I was carb loading before, so having ups and downs all day. Now my energy is constant all day and at night I'm tired and ready for bed, instead of buzzing from the night time carbs. I love it. Maybe find a chewable multi with a dose of B Vitamins, but I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck! Deano

Self-Pay & Feeling Guilty
You can't put a price on your health ladies. Your partners' aren't worrying about it, so you should treat it a bit like a compliment - thank them for their support

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Had a cruskit this morning with some cottage cheese. How good is it eating something that crunches after weeks and weeks on Fluid and puree that makes your mouth feel fury. I was brushing my teeth 5 times a day at one stage ....

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
I'm still early days as you know, so I don't really have a lot of insight. It's definitely not about what your eating ie changes to your 'regular' diet? Deano

Ex Issues- Please Help!
Good luck Fallen angel. You sound very switched on, I'm sure you'll make a decision that's good for you!
-
Ex Issues- Please Help!
I think the words he used that everyone picked up on is that he didn't think he'd be attracted to Fallenangel even at 250 pounds. That would seem to indicate he's exclusively attracted to very very large women. I'm sure if you found a dark haired person that you were attracted to, including the dark hair, there would be still some attraction if there hair was now brown. I really think to tell someone at 380 that you wouldn't be attracted to them at 250 is a hurtful and manipulative thing to say.

Day 18: I Am Just Not Feeling The Sleeve Today!
My surgery date was the 7th Nov, so I think we're at about the same stage. I haven't felt anything as overt as you, but it sounds like your just experiencing a bit of grief for your old relationship with food. Eating was obviously a big part of all our lives! This feeling will pass, as you develop a healthy relationship with food and know your new limitations you'll value that food is nurturing you and not abusing you. You have done the right thing. Deano

Ex Issues- Please Help!
Tell him about the surgery. Tell him it's inevitable that you are going to be a proportionate build and there's nothing you can do about it. He's being bluntly honest with you. If he's not still interested when he knows the truth, maybe it is a fetish and you are better off without him?
