  1. Is it preventing Hair loss and are you able to swallow the small pills?

2013 is my year....Sleeved 11/19 Methodist Hosp in NY

I started taking Biotin months before the surgery...my hair was thinning way before surgery. I haven't noticed any unusual hair loss but I'm only about 3 weeks post op. My dr told me to continue crushing all pills..until week 6. I'm also using Garnier Fall Fight Shampoo. I read about it on another post and it help with hair loss. The shampoo and conditioner has biotin and caffein in it.

  2. I'm glad I found this thread. I to was sleeved on the 14th and am experiencing a lot of hunger. I'm just chalking it up to being only on liquids. The liquids seem to go down very easily...almost too easily. I've read one you progress to puréed a no soft foods, the "full" feeling will kick in. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this

  3. How r u doing?

I was sleeved on the 14th...went home on the 16th. Started full liquids on the 17th. First couple days it was hard to get in all my Protein and liquids...now I can. I actually feel like things are going down too easily. I actually get very hungry in the evening. I'm down 8lbs since day of surgery. I'm on liquids until the 30th then I can move to puréed foods. I'm looking forward to chewing again! I'm in no pain, been off pain meds since leaving the hospital. I do find if I don't get my Protein in I'm very fatigued . But So far no problems. :-)

  4. Well' date=' today is my first day back at work and I feel great. I've been drinking Water like crazy and I can't wait to advance to full liquids on Thursday. I'm still having a hard time sleeping in my bed so tonight it's back to the couch I go :( I've been adding like 1 Protein. shake per day since yesterday and I must say that I have way more energy. I'm not supposed to advance until Thursday but I was starting to feel really exhausted and the small shake really helped. I can only drink one and it takes all day to get in.....I'm down 12.6 still feels like a really low number and that gets me worried still....but I'm just ready to be back to life and finally enjoy this baby tummy :)[/quote']

Congrats on being back at work so soon. I was sleeved on the 14th and my surgeon won't release me back to work until December 10th. 12.6 lbs is a WONDERFUL loss! :-) don't get stuck on numbers . I'm on the full liquid diet for another 10 days...I can't WAIT to moved to puréed foods lol. All this drinking and sipping is tedious lol

  5. Ok...I'm not sure if I'm over thinking this. Or maybe I'm not that good with numbers. But I'm 5 days post op...on a full liquid diet and required/expected to get in 6 "meals" a day. 3 of them must be 8 oz Protein Shakes with 20-30 hm of Protein per serving. Now my calorie goal is 400-600 calories a day. But one 8 oz Protein Drink contains 210 calories...drinking that 3 times a day is about 630 calories. I've already exceeded my caloric intake with the shakes alone! This does not include the "breakfast, lunch and dinner" full liquid meals! Am I doing something wrong??

  6. I'm having a hard time with the Water and my Protein too. The thought of Protein Shakes makes me ill since I woke up the other day totally hating everything that was sweet. So it's a challenge. I only had about half of what I should have yesterday. Today if I follow my plan of foods I should have almost 60 which is a huge improvement. Water not so great still. Only gotten about half in today so far.

I actually bought some unflavored protein that I'm sprinkling on everything! I add it to the broths, creamed Soups and plain yogurt. I've actually created my own little "parfaits" using plain Greek yogurt and crystal light...they are super yummy! And packs protein!

  7. I agree with sissy Kay' date=' it would be as good as an immaculate conception to get pregnant dry humping with clothes on. I don't know how old you are, based on your "name" your may be in your twenties. Regardless, you need some serious sex education ASAP or you will be pregnant. Is there anyone you can talk to?[/quote']

Well said! I totally agree...sex education is needed ASAP!!!

  8. Since its fall/winter leggings are totally in! I say invest in a couple pairs (different colors) and 2-3 tunics and just mix and match them. Leggins will shrink as you shrink. Lane Bryant has great quALity leggings and usually the day after thanksgiving their entire store is 50% off. Also like others said...try thrift stores or ebay.

  9. I'm 5 days post up. I'm just wondering how much Soup should I be eating in a sitting? I'm afraid I can eat too much. I usually have half a cup and I'm fine. Not stuffed but just good. Tonight I had egg drop and had almost a cup! Is this normal or am doing something wrong? Hunger has been hitting me and I want to eat more then I did the first few days <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> I'm also able to get it down rather fast. I'm afraid this isn't the way things should be?

I was sleeved on the 14th and I've been feeling the same way with my full liquid diet. I can't wait to get to the puréed stage. I've read this is the stage when you "feel full" . This full liquid diet still leaves me kinda hungry

  10. Poor thang' date=' oh well at least you'll be a bad chick by summer <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

surgery date 12/3/12 with Dr Goreki NY[/quote']

Exactly! I'm willing to trade in tasty holiday family dinners for a healthier better looking body lol

  11. Hello...I'm new to the board and I was sleeved 5 days ago (11-14-12) im glad I found this thread. Most of my family questioned my decision to have the surgery right before the Holidays because I'd be missing out on all the good food lol. It made me really realize how important "soul food" is to our community. My first day home from the hospital, I came home to my mom cooking fried chicken, roast, fried cabbage, Mac n chesse and rice n gravy...and to wash it all down a nice tall pitcher of Kool aid. I felt like I was on an episode of punked...lol. Was she serious?!?!? So I sat in my room sipping on my Protein Shake while mourning all the delicious foods that were being prepared. Lol

  12. Hello...this is my first time posting. I was sleeved on 11/14/12 so I'm 5 days out. My weight on surgery day was 312. When I started the options classes at kaiser in June I weighed 336. My goal

Weight is 200lbs, but my batiatrician said I could go as low as 180. I really think being tall is a blessing. We seem to "carry" our weight better. Even being over 300lbs, people told me

They would have never guessed I was that heavy. Im looking forward to shedding this weight. My only concern is loose skin . I'm

32 so I'm hoping my age and elasticity will be my saving grace, but I'm also top

Heavy (46 H) and I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of deflation lol. I'm glad I found this site and look forward to joining others on their weightloss journey
