  1. i am in a stall right now as speak i was sleeve on 1\8\13 the day of surgery i was 302 now im 285 but the scale have stop moving do u think i will lose more weight. this is scary. i really dont eat that much i vomit almost everything i eat' date=' i dont get Protein if any. i know imma mess help me[/quote']

Just stick to your plan as closely as possible...the first few weeks will be tough. Especially getting in all your liquids and Protein ...but trust me...IT GETS BETTER. Don't trip off your numbers...YOU WILL LOSE! Just follow your doctor orders and dont slip back into bad eating habbits

  2. This is my PERSONAL OPIONON and has become my MANTRA for this JOURNEY. I was sleeved 11/14/12. Like many of us I was obsessed with the scale...elated with a loss and dissapointed when the numbers didn't change. I have personally decided not to weigh myself(only on follow up dr appts) I have been sticking to my eating plan and working out everyday. I hAve complete faith that I WILL REACH GOAL. I am no longer going to allow the numbers on the scale and these supposed "stalls" To EVER DISCOURAGE ME or make me think I'm going to fail. All I see ahead of me is victory! For those of you being discouraged by stalls....STOP IT. It's quite natural for our bodies to go through brief periods of "stalls". I cringe everytime I read a post about folks getting discouraged. In order for anyone to have 85% of their stomach removed they have had to have a lot of courage to begin with. So STAY ENCOURAGED...you WILL LOSE! :-) remember...this is not a race....it's a lifelong journey :-)

  3. Most websites have a "how to measure" section. Typically you use the size around your lower chest (where the bra circles you) then measure at your fullest point. If I remember right each inch is a different cup size but I'm not 100% on that.

It's worth treating yourself to a fitting at a place like Nordstroms. While they are expensive' date=' the value of one good bra is pretty amazing in your life.[/quote']

I agree with iggy! It's a MUST to get a good fitting. I have had big boobs since I was 9!!! I use to buy bras only at Nordstroms. Then u found a speciality boutique that carries the same brand as Nordstroms. Pre surgery(11/14/12) I was a size 46HH ...now I'm a 40N. My cup size actually increased, but my band size went down. I will never but bras from plus sized stores(lane Bryant, avenue ...etc) I rather spend the money and INVEST in good supportive bras that don't make me took like I have torpedo tits.. :-) lol and the only way to get a good fitting bra is to be properly fitted by a bra specialist

  4. You know what I find sooo funny and ironic is that we were all sleeved around the same time and have lost around the same amount of weight yet for some reason consider that slow...HELLO?!?! We are all loosing at about the same rate so I think we are right on track. I was sleeved 11/14 and down 35. I see ppl with around the same weightloss and timeframe . I take this is a positive. Remember to be encourage and the worse thing to do is to become a slave to the #s. follow your meal plans, get in your Protein and Water and exercise at least 30 min a day. YOU WILL LOSE!!! :-)

  5. I can't speak to shifting with Mirena being solely due to weight loss' date=' but mine did fall out. I can say (from experience) that the hormones in Mirena can cause issues with loss post VSG. There are a few old threads about this if you do a search.

I had to have mine removed. I used it solely to control endometriosis because surprise pregnancies aren't in the cards for us. Mine fell out while I was in the loss phase. I had it placed again a few weeks later. The only time I lost weight during that time frame was when the Mirena was out of my body! Now, many people use it and love it. In fact, I loved mine - nothing has ever worked better at controlling the endo. But it was definitely causing problems after my WLS, so keep that in mind IF you notice something isn't quite the same or working as well.

That said, I think that applies to all hormonal birth control. You'll find even more threads about this. Some women have no issues and some of us have real reactions to things that worked well previously. Just be aware of it and be prepared to address it if it comes up.

In any case, my post isn't to scare anyone or worry anyone needlessly. The fact is, it's better to directly ask your doctor about potential issues than to risk an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy that will cause you stress and unhappiness.

Hmm...now I'm wondering if my mirena is contributing to my slow loss. I was sleeved 11/14...had mirena inserted on 12/1 and since insertion I've lost about 10 lbs and now I'm in my second stall. I specifically asked my ob/gyn if it would cause weight gain or be counter productive to the VSG...she said "absolutely not!" and reassured me it should cause no fluctuation in weight

  6. I'm seven weeks out and I too have become obsessed with keeping up with the numbers ...I eat no more than 600 calories a day 60-90 grams of Protein ...5 grams of far per meal 10 grams of sugar per meal and 10-15 carbs per meal. I excersise daily and try to burn at least 600 calories per workout. When I don't hit these numbers I do feel a little dissappointed, but I try not to beat myself up. Everyday is a new day. Lifestyle changes don't happen over night...it's a process that happens daily. So don't be discouraged ...just do better the next day

  7. I will be 5 weeks out on Tuesday. Even though it gets a little bit boring' date=' I take two 11 oz. shakes (5.5 oz. at a time) from costco, and that gets my 60 grams of Protein in everyday. I also focus on getting in my 64 ounces of fluids. I do it this way, that way anything else I eat is bonus Protein. Right now I enjoy raw shrimp with a little lemon, tuna (no bread or crackers of any kind), canned and cooked chicken, and an over easy egg. The best snack I have found is a cheese stick. It's high in protein and only an ounce of food. I stay away from puddings, jellos, and popsicles, as they have no nutrition. I would rather use up that tummy space on foods that will help promote my weight loss. Plus, to me, those are Snacks that make me want more, so I choose to not even go there. Good luck to you![/quote']

    Raw shrimp?

  8. OMG I can't thank you enough! I cancelled my surgery after joining this site. Most posts are negative and ready to call in the lawyers. After your post I will reconsider.

Definetly reconsider!!!!! I too experienced a very easy recovery. ZERO complications...NO ISSUES whatsoever. I was sleeved on 11/14...I'm down 50 lbs. This has absolutely changed my life.

  9. I go to the gym about 3x a week. I only do cardio. Sometimes treadmill sometimes the bike sometimes the elliptical. I stay for about an hour. But I still feel like I haven't done enough. I want to hit the weights but do not know where to start. Any advice or sample regimen will be appreciated. I try to do what my husband dies but scared it night be to harsh on me right now. I have no money for a personal trainer so I desperately need help from you all!!

    Hugs' date='

I am in the same boat! I feel so lost and all the equipment intimidates me. I too only stick to cardio. But as my weight is dropping i know I need to start incorporating some strength training to tone up and combat saggy skin. I just asked my FB friends for workout suggestions since I have quite a few who are into working out. I hope I get some good advice. If I find out anything helpful I'll be sure to post in here
