    Husband jealous

Mine has been very supportive. We talked at length prior to my surgery, and continue to have an open dialogue. I included him with a few support group meetings, he comes to my post op appts. My plan was to exercise together, but we both have fallen short in that one. So if your husband needs some reassurance, give it to him. Your marriage deserves the extra effort.

Am I A Success or Failure?

Please talk to your doctor or a counselor. Cross addiction is a huge threat to us. I pray that you get some help to work through this.

    hair loss

My hair is pretty thick. I'm about 4.5 months post op. when I started seeing more in my hands and bathroom sink, I cut my hair short. To me it was a lot. But, we had a patient that had surgery the same time that I did ( she had a partial colectomy). The day I noticed more hair in my hands, she came in with a complaint of hair loss. She pulled out a gallon size ziplock full of hair that she brushed out that morning. She had large bald spots. The doc told her and me, it's the stress of major surgery. Nothing will slow it or prevent it. I'm thankful that I'm not shedding like that.

    Decaffeinated Iced Tea!

Those are my favorite too! In a large glass, lots of crushed ice and a splash of lime juice.
  13. Hey everyone! My surgery weight was 275. This morning I weighed 209. I'm in a size 14 pant, just ordered a size 12 trouser jean. I feel great most of the time. My blood pressure used to run 110s/70s. Now I'm 100/50. When I stand or change positions, the room spins.

  15. I was really hoping to avoid a tummy tuck, but it looks like a body lift to me. I swore I wouldn't do my thighs or arms, but they crepe paper saggy skin grosses me out.

    Cauliflower Tots

To "rice" cauliflower, first grate it on a coarse grater. This is the method I used when making cauliflower pizza crust. Once I grated raw cauliflower I microwaved it.

    I cant eat T.T

I don't know branch your are joining, but you are required to provide full disclosure of your health/surgical history. If it is discovered after the fact, it is grounds for separation. In boot camp, you are allowed longer than 2 minutes to eat your meal. Navy feeds you very well. You are not allowed to stuff your pockets. If caught, you will be punished. Most likely, your entire division will be punished because of you.

I started it, but quit at week 7. I really want to run, just don't know how to psych myself up for it!

    High heels?

Yup. Walked around all last weekend in 4 inch heels. My calves ache some, but did fine. I have a thing for heels, so I'm excited with my loss so far-I can wear my sexy shoes.

    Pickle juice

Why would you drink pickle juice?
  21. Went to pick up my race packet the other day and asked for an XL tshirt, and the guy looked at me like I was crazy. He said no way I wore that size. So he gave me a large. Got home, pulled it out and thought no way in hell that it would fit, but it did. Later read others on Facebook complaining that the shirts for the race were running small. Yay me! I ran into a girl that I used to work with yesterday at my new job. I walked over and said hello, and I could see that she couldn't figure out why I was talking to her. I asked her, you don't recognize me? She said nope...I walked off. As she was leaving, it hit her ad she came back to tell me I looked great.

    celebrating small victories

Sleeved 12/17/12. Down 61 lbs from 275. Was wearing a tight 20 pants, 2xl scrub bottom, 22/24 tops, 3xl scrub top and knit shirts. I can comfortably fit in a size 14 pant, xl scrubs swallow me. Went tonight to pick up my packet for The Color Run and the guy asked me my shirt size and I told him and XL-he looked at me like I had two heads and said no way you wear an XL, you wear a large. So I took the large shirt home, told my hubby the story and pulled it out of the bag. After eyeing the shirt skeptically, I told the husband I was probably going to be SOL on race day...then I tried it on and it fit perfectly. And to my delight, other registrants were complaining on Facebook that the shirts were running on the small size!!

    My new water system

I drink with a straw sometimes. At one month post op my nutritionist encouraged a straw, so I wouldn't smell the protein drink.
