Suggestions for MVI and calcium that I don't have to take three times a day. I have a hard time remembering to take them all.

Pain, upper left abdomen
doreen70 replied to doreen70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I called the office and have an appt with him Monday morning. Also talked to his stupid PA, that kept saying "um, yeah, that's strange". The doctor that I work with thinks its an adhesion because its triggered by movement. -
I have some butterflies on my back, and I haven't noticed a difference. Well, maybe now I can turn my head and see them.

I mixed unflavored unjury to crystal light lemonade and it was disgusting.

How much time off before returning to work?
doreen70 replied to Linkin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took 2 weeks. I would have definitely taken 4 looking back. It was painful, I struggled getting my food and water in-barely got 24 ounces in daily. -
My surgeon didn't use one. Because if how I was intubated for anesthesia, they didn't want to risk extubating me.

My husband and I went there for our 19th anniversary, along with our best friends. Went to the Graceland Wedding Chapel. It was awesome, "Elvis" was amazing.

I weigh daily. Sometimes several times a day.

3 days Post-Op & Cold
doreen70 replied to salesking's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm always cold. Wearing polar fleece mat work when it's 90 degrees outside. -
I don't cook differently. Most of the time I eat what my family eats-except I skip the carbs. I will eat protein and veggies.

I posted a new pic on Facebook yesterday. Within 30 minutes, my oldest son who is stationed at Camp Lejuene texted me with a picture that we took at the Tennessee Aquarium before he left for boot camp. He then said that he would 100% not be Able to recognize me and was proud of my accomplishments.

Last time I tried refried beans, they hurt. That was nearly two months ago. Last week had a sesame grilled chicken salad at BJs Brewhouse. The napa cabbage sat like a brick in my stomach. I can eat coleslaw without a problem or any other raw salad. Pork is hit or miss. So is beef.

doreen70 replied to makemyownluck's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will be ok. My incisions didn't get glue because I'm allergic to adhesive. No staples or sutures either. They wrapped my abdomen with an elastic binder. -
No fashion sense...where do I get some?
doreen70 replied to Afrodite82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like to look at fashion mags. But I have zero fashion sense. I don't know how to accessorize. I'm not into trends. I tend to keep it super casual-jeans, tshirts, and my faithful clunky danskos. -
Ideas for what to tell people?
doreen70 replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My boss had this surgery about a year and a half ago. I had never heard of it until then. She was very frank about her surgery, her success and struggles. I decided to look into having the procedure after talking to her. My coworkers knew that I was having the surgery, along with my friends and family. Everyone has been so supportive. I chose to be honest when asked because if my boss hasn't shared her experience with me, I would probably still weigh 275lbs. -

Scale gave me five different numbers
doreen70 replied to bringiton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This morning I woke up, went to the bathroom, undressed and stood on the scale. Weight 207. Stepped off, turned scale on, and stepped on. Weight 208 two more times. -
I had mine in Baton Rouge Louisiana by Dr. Drake Bellenger. My cost was 14200, and included everything-his fees, hospital costs, tests, psych eval, nutritional consult(3 visits), one meeting with a trainer. Surgeon follow up for two years. He's one of the top in the country for this surgery.

Scale gave me five different numbers
doreen70 replied to bringiton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take the lowest weight. I hate stepping back on one and its a pound higher. I am nearly 5 months out and need to break the scale habit. I weigh at least twice a day. -
Size 12 skinny jeans.
