  3. I'm packing and getting nervous since my surgery is tomorrow. I have to be at the hospital at 7am. I wish everyone best if luck and I will try to post after surgery.
  4. I have been on liquid diet going on 9 days. While doing the liquid diet, i had 3 finals at school (make all A's), I have going to three Christmas party and have had wondering and delicious food around me, but I did eat nothing except my Slim Fast protein shake. I keep telling myself that I can't eat this food because i don't want to get to the surgery date and the doctor tells me "I'm sorry but we can't operate on you because you did not follow orders and your liver is too big" so I'm almost done with my liquid diet. Now is time to pack and get ready for the new me. I have to be at the hospital at 7am tomorrow. For all the people don't the liquid diet just hang in there. It will be worth it at the end.
  5. My surgery is also on Dec 17 and the liquid diet is very hard. I can't wait until I don't feel hungry. Best of luck to everyone being sleeve on this day. I have to be at the hospital at 7:00am
  6. I have BCBS and I got approved within a week. However, most insurance require different stuff. I would just plan for the best and always have an alternative plan in place your insurance denies you. You can always appeal. Best of luck!
  7. My surgery is 17th! I can't wait, super excited to be given a new opportunity to be healthy and to be able to enjoy my life again.
  8. I'm also schedule for 12/17. I'm very excited and a bit nervous. I'm married, and have two teens girls 12 and 13. This year for the first time ever they are traveling to Texas to be with their grandma for Christmas. My husband and I felt that his mom needed to be with them and since she can't travel during he winter time why not the send them to his family. They are going to be with all their cousins and aunts and their favorite grandma. I know I have been good, that is why Santa is bringing me a wish that I waited for so long. I wish all of you a happy new birthday and best wishes in your surgery!
  9. I would like to introduce myself to all the 12/17 sleevers. I'm 40 years old and happily married for 16 years. I have a wonderful husband and two teens girls 12 and 13 yrs. old. I live in Smyrna, TN close to Nashville, TN. I have been fighting my weight problems since I was 12 years old. I have done several diets and have lost weight and then gain it all back or more. My highest weight has been 255 in November, BMI of 41. Back in 2011, I decided to go back to school for a second degree. On October, I tought I was having a heart attack after having to climb the stairs as the elevator was broken. I knew then I had to do something about my weight. I talked to my doctor and she suggested the sleeve surgery. After researching it, and going to several support group meetings I decided to do it. Now, I can't believe in less than a week I will be having surgery. For Goodnurseg, I have been doing the pre-opt diet since December 3 and I'm down 10 lbs. I hope to lose 7 lbs more by 12/17. I noticed that if I stay on schedule and drink Protein drinks every 3 hours I don't seem to be hungry. The best Protein shake that I have tried is Pure Protein from Walmart. I just add cinnamon and a drop of nugmet and it taste delicious! I have also done it with just strawberries or blueberries and it taste wonderful. I have to do different Protein shakes throughout the date so I don't get burn of drinking the same thing. Best of luck to everyone that is having their sleeve on 12/17. We should keep intouch after surgery!
  10. I finally got my surgery. I'm excited yet a bit scare. Anyone else having surgery on this day?
  11. Best of luck. Tell us for did it go.
  12. Great job! You look great and totally happy. I can't wait to start my new life. Keep posting updates!
  13. Congratulations to everyone that got approved!!!!!!!! I know that I have been super excited since last Tuesday that I got approved. On Monday I go to the doctor for surgery date. I also have Blue Cross Blue Shield and it took them a week to approve me. I did have to meet all of there requirements they listed. It took me from my first consultation to turn in all of my paper work 3 weeks. Then one week of waiting for approval. I'm trying to have my surgery in between school break. Hopefully it works out!
  14. You are doing great! I can't way until I can say that I'm in my ones!
  15. Thanks to everyone for you support. I will be doing protein shakes and chicken brooth until surgery. I wouldn't want to mess anything up so no phentermine for me.
  16. I'm 40 yrs old and I just got approved for the sleeve surgery. The only people I have shared that I'm having surgery is my husband and my two teenager daughters, my mother in law which we have a very close relationship, and my friend Jennifer (who I met couple of months ago at my school). I don't plan to tell the rest of my family specially my sisters. I have two sisters and they have always been on my case of my weight. When we go shopping for clothes they try to make me feel better by picking out my outfits but they want to dress me like a skinny person. We are all very close family, we have always share everything but I know if I told them they would not approve of it. My oldest sister has lost 60 lbs doing the curve protein diet and she is almost at her goal weight, and my middle sister has always been slimmed. Also, where I work everyone is healthy and fit. Out of 30 Human Resources Managers I'm the biggest. I hate going to the summits every year and everyone looks great except me. I'm having mix feeling not telling my parents? They are overseas until June 2013 and I'm not sure what I'm going to tell them when I see them. I know my coworkers that love to eat out every day are going to wonder why I'm just drinking protein shakes and not eating. If any one have any advise please share!
  17. I will be starting my liquid diet on Monday. However, right now I'm doing a healthy diet that my NUT have issued. It consist of one protein shake in the morning, a handful of walnut or almonds, and half cut of berries. For lunch and dinner a lean protein such as chicken, fish or beef but it has to be the side of a deck card and veggies. I find myself starving. I have found some of my phentermine pills and I was thinking to take them while I'm doing my liquid diet. Any advice?
  18. Almost there! You will be in my prayers. Just remember it's a new beginning and we have to be grateful for his wonderful opportunity.
  19. Thanks Joan. My doctor appointment is on Monday at 2:45 and is when I would also find out my surgery date. Right now I'm working very hard on focusing on my healthy diet that my NUT put me on, along with working full time, taking college class (next week is finals), and taking care of my hubby and my girls. Thank God I have a very supporting husband that is learning all my new way of eating. I feel so happy that I got approve and that soon I will start a new journey. My goal is to lost 60 pounds by my birthday April 26 and to be close to my weight loss goal by August that is when I graduate. Best of luck in your journey and keep in touch.
  20. Congrats! You are almost there. Best of luck!!!!
  21. Keep positive. This is a life charging event!
  22. Food will no longer be your best friend. You will learn to love your new you and shopping will now be your new best friend. Hopefully your surgery went as expected. Keep us post it!
  23. Get your rest, keep walking, follow doctor orders and you are headed to your new life.
  24. You are doing great! Keep up the good work.
