    Usa Medical Ctr.

There was a little pain at first but I was able t o get up and around ok. I had a lot of pain on my third week around the major staples but was told that was normal. I never was nauseated. I took two weeks off of work but could have gone back after 10 days. I don't regret doing this at all. .

U should come to one of the support groups. That will answer some of your questions. This Dr. Only has a 5 day pre op diet which wasn't too hard. After the surgery it has been just a matter of me relearning how to eat correctly. It's not a picnic but it is certainly worth doing.

  6. I used Atkins protein drinks. Chocolate delight. I am still able to drink it. Word of warning. Don't stock up on anything .your taste and tolerance will change and you'll find yourself stuck with a pantry full of shakes, protein powder ,etc. I am 61 yrs old had my surgery on 3/4 and as of today lost 30 lbs. it is definitely a journey , but very much worth taking.

    Soooo much regret

I know exactly how you feel. Before surgery we are so excited that we tend not to pay much attention to the warning that we will feel this way. But I'm here to tell you that it will get better. I am 61 yrs old and had surgery 3/4. My life changed that day and for about 3 wks. I thought I had really messed up. The pain in my gut was horrible, I could hardly lift my arms because I was so exhausted , I couldn't get anything down, and I wanted to cry constantly. Then on day 26 everything turned around! The pain stopped just as if a switch was turned off and my body seem to settle into its own rhythm. And best of all I realized the I had lost 29 Lbs.. My suggestion to u is to just settle back and go with it even the bad , with the knowledge that soon u will be on the other side. Good luck
  8. Me too. Surgery on 3/4 . Down 27 lbs. but no movement in the las 7 days except I gained 1 lb then lost it the next day
  9. My dr. Warned me that the scales could be my worst enemy.Even though you're anxious to lose the weight probably not a good idea to do it the day after surgery
  10. YES the pain is bad ! I don't wear a compression garment now ,I did for the first few weeks but now I don't wear it because I feel as if it hinders my muscles from getting strong. I do have a little pillow that I hold over my stomach as I walk or try to bend. In order to sleep I have to position pillows around to get relief. Yesterday was my worst day. I was in tears almost all day. But having said that when I woke up this am I had a little more flexibility and a little less pain.
  11. Thank you for posting. I am 24 days out and I have the same pain. Mine didn't really start bothering me until about 2wks post op but now it's making up for lost time. Mine is I around my lower left stomach area. It feel as if my stomach is being cut from the inside. I was actually thinking about going to energy room but now think ill wait .
