Huntsville hospital Dr. Mailapur. My healing is great. No complications. My eating is still limited because meats and eggs make me throw up. I think that will get better I just need to wait a while and try them again.
As of this morning down 27# which I feel is pretty slow but I feel confident that I'm doing things right (except I could exercise more). So trying to be patient.
I get about 60-80 grams of Protein and 3 cups Water. Need more Water. Around 700 calories.
What about you?

Thank you so much for your help. Sounds like some good things to try. It seems like I have hit a "set point" and really struggling to get it right. I'll try these things.Hi Wendy! I'm going to guess that your body has hit it's first "set point". Some call this a plateau. Do a search for the science/theory behind it (I googled: breaking body weight Set Point). Some things that can help you push through: eat more - change the variety of foods you are eating.....and here's a rather strange one I've heard works wonders: swallow a tablespoon or two of olive oil a day. For exercise, do what is called HIIT, high intensity interval training 3 times during the next week. Sometimes the body needs a little nudge and you have trick it into thinking that it needs to lose more weight. Hope this helps you!!!

EXACTLY! WHY? Thats what I'm struggling with.

Ok thanks yall. I'm gonna find some faith in this process. Just to answer a few comments, no I have not measured and 24# in 6 weeks not less than a month. But thank you all it helps knowing I'm not the only one who has felt hopeless.
-
Honestly. I am not trying to whine or feel sorry for myself. Rather, I tend to think through things. So I'm trying to make sense of it. At some point someone scientifically developed this plan so if the plan is not working there should be a better plan.

Doing absolutely everything I have been told to do and failing. Sleeved oct 8th so six weeks ago at 280. Down to 256 but 17 of the 24 was the first 2 weeks. Getting 60-80 g Protein 50-60 Water. Calories 600-700 carbs under 20. Walking daily. I give up. If I cant loose doing everything they said to do why even try anymore?

Hi Mrs M. Well we are not too far apart. Most days I can still only tolerate Soups and Protein Shakes. Good luck and good to meet you.

Oh and my op date was Oct 8th. Would love to see what you all are eating and how you are doing. Personally I seem to be a slow looser. 6 weeks and only 25#.
-
I feel like all the Protein is making me gain weight or at the very least stall. I had problems with this pre op also while doing a trial run of Protein Shakes I gained 12#. Anyone know why?
-
Yes but when you say "stall often" how long is that? I am almost 6 weeks post op and except for the first 2 weeks I have stalled every 3 or 4 days. The scale will be lower one or two days in a row then the same for about 4 days. Frustrating.
-
I would be interested in that link if its not too much trouble.
-
My experience is that if you run a calorie deficit the weight will go down even if you are in starvation mode. Look at the people on Survivor.
-
I know brandy. It is so hard and frustrating. I felt embarrassed to tell my family I have stopped loosing. But please listen to me. It will start again. Im 5 weeks and stalled the last 2 weeks and just started loosing again. Lost 4# in 2 days. It's so hard to hang in there but it will start again. I promise. Hugs.
-
Starting weight 280. Lost 15# the first 2 weeks then NOTHING for the next 2 weeks. Now in 5th week and only lost 2#. IF and that's a big IF I can continue averaging 2# a week is that a good amount?
-
I am trying to be positive and work the plan but its disheartening sometimes. I have had my gall bladder removed so.....We are loosing at about the same pace. I feel your pain. I am impatient and want results to come more quickly. I think the good thing about slow and steady is no gallbladder issues, right? If you loose too fast that has the potential to become an issue.
Hopefully it all works out in the end!

So its been a while. Learned A LOT and still learning. Five and a half months down 59#. Several stalls, vomiting, low potassium etc. But at least on the right road.
