  1. Leaving the hospital after a 2 week stay with an ulcer and abscess. My surgeon is sure he's got this one licked...I feel bad for him sometimes because we are on first name basis......

But with everything in life there is a price. And I am almost at goal and happy about that.

    Thanks for caring.. :)

Wow! We the upside is your on the mend! Sorry you had to go through all that! Did you have a sleeve? Usually those complications come with RnY.

  2. Never saw this post....I was sleeve on November the 6th 2012 as well. I am so glad to see that others did well that day and all was better and better along the way....Maybe it was my day for everything to go to h*ll. I don't know...

Nice thing is I am still alive..Getting better and glad I did this in spite of everything that did and is still going bad because of complications......

    :)

Hope there is a pile of successful WLS patients for this day in history

Awe, I hope things get better for you! Thinking of you and sending healing thoughts your way! ;)

  3. Hello, I was sleeved a little over a year ago and lost a good amount of weight in the first 6 months. After that it has been stall after stall. I came across the BeachBody programs( T25, P90x-P90x3, Hip Hop Abs, Brazilian Butt Lift). I have been doing the T25 with the Shakeology Protein Shakes and feel great. I have broke my stall and love that I can workout when I have time and it only takes 25min of my day! If you have any questions, I'd love to answer them!

  4. I have coffee early in the morning around 6:15- then I will have an egg with maybe some turkey bacon or sausage or cheese around 8. Then I eat beef Jerky or something around 10:30. For lunch I will have tuna or lunch meat or maybe an Atkins meal- today I had a 4 count grilled nuggets from chick fil a because I was out running around. Then I will have cheese and crackers later this afternoon and I am making Salisbury steak for dinner' date=' so I will eat that with mashed cauliflower tonight.[/quote']

Ok, so you don't really rely on Protein shakes/bars? My nut did tell me she wanted me to try getting Protein from foods... And how big are your portions? My meat is usually 3-4 oz but I feel like I don't get enough veggies or carbs. Are you still in a loosing phase or maintain?

  5. 3 oz of dense Protein or a full fage Greek yogurt. I'm 10 months out.

I'm also 10 months out. Can u tell me what your eating looks like right now. I'm trying to gauge my eating. I usually have 3 meals, which are mostly a Protein and then a small amount of veg. And 2 Snacks, usually a protein shack in the am and a half a Protein Bar or some crackers(carb) in the pm. Thanks for sharing!

  6. The worst part of coffee is not the caffeine' date=' it's the acid. Reflux is a present enemy of sleevers and too much coffee can aggravate it. What I've read says that the Water in coffee cancels out the diuretic effect of the caffeine. It doesn't hydrate you but doesn't dehydrate you either.

As we know, coffee has health benefits as well. A google search will yield the pertinent information.

My wife thinks coffee is a wonder drug. It makes her husband worth talking to in the morning.[/quote']

Thanks for the info. I drank coffee after being sleeved (cut it down to 1 cup/day) and around 6 months when I stopped the prescribed meds. I could no longer drink coffee with out it hurting/ burning my stomach. I eventually put two and two together and came to the same conclusion. I now Water down my coffee to almost tea like and I steer clear of Starbucks or Peers, as one sip will already make my stomach burn!

  7. Sleeved Nov. 14' date=' started @ 235, down to 152! I am in a size 8, even a 6 at times. NEVER been so happy. Loving life!! I really need something done to my boobs now, but the cost is 12K!!!!! Crazy Oh Well, i'll just buy some good push up bra's. I know I know TMI, but hey i guess if thats the worst thing that can happen, i'm fine with it! :-)

I hope everyone else is doing great![/quote']

Congrats to you too! Thanks for sharing your progress, you look amazing! I feel you on the upstairs issue! I have been in search of the perfect bra. Have yet to find one. Please let me know what you find!!!!;)

  8. I can't believe how much my life has changed since nov 12... Highest weight was 233. Today 154! Never thought I would see the day. This Summer has been so fun' date=' dating and wearing size 10 white jeans! Someone pinch me! :) The only real downside is the saggy skin and deflated boobs... But nothing a good bra can't fix! I'm not going to complain about that! :) cheers to all the success of my fellow November sleevers!! :)

Sent from my iPhone using VST[/quote']

Congrats to you! You look awesome!

  9. Victoria's Secret bras are poorly made in IMO I like Freya and Fanstasie of England the bras cost about the same as VS but are better quality you can by from Figleaves.com' date='Nordstrom and there are a few other stores that carry but I would look online Chantrele bras are also good.Good bras is what I have to do for my deflated Fs until it is time for plastics:)[/quote']

Good to know! Thanks, I'll look into these!!!:)

  10. I wanted to update:

    Surgery date: 11/7

    Surgery day: 230 lbs

    This morning:141.2 lbs

I am 5"6' and my initial goal first was 150' date=' then it became 145 because it was the best for me. I had a Tummy Tuck when i was 143 lbs 3 weeks ago and i gained up to 7 pounds Water weight. Now am back down to 141 3 weeks after the surgery and my goal changed to 135... I think i am addicted to seeing the scale move am still not ready to transition to maintenance. My question is: is 135lbs a far fetch and too much for me? :([/quote']

Congrats on your progress! How amazing! I was wondering how your recovery was from the tuck? Also, what does your diet look like now?

  11. Hello November 6th Sleevers

It seems like forever since I have been on this sight. So much has happened since my surgery that I do not know where to begin. Well first for all the new November 6th sleevers I hope all is well with you all. As for me its been almost 7 months since the surgery and I am doing quite well. I am down 59 lbs on this weight  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First' date=' its funny I just cant believe how small I have gotten along with not being able to eat so much anymore. I went out to a restaurant not so long ago, and felt so foolish because I could not hardly eat anything. I took more food home in the doggie bag than I ate. Also now that I have had to replace my wardrobe I still find myself going straight to the BIG girls clothes and forget that I don't wear that size anymore. I am now working out and trying to get rid of this flab that I seriously hate. If anyone has any suggestions about how to get rid of flab please feel free to offer the advice. I have noticed that since I have been seriously working out I have not lost anything in 2 weeks don't like that. This is truly truly a serious journey. I go back on Thursday for my 6 month checkup. I do notice the last couple of months I have had terrible gas and indigestion. Also they found a nodule on my thryroid so I have to get that checked on. It seems as though when you do good in one area some other area seems to start acting up. Well anyway I still have 30 more lbs to go. Does anyone have any suggesstions with this semi plateu and how to break it.

I hope everyone is doing well.[/quote']

Glad to hear everything is going so well with wls. Have you seen the posting about upping your Protein and Water. This person doubled the amounts and lost 11lbs in one week! I did this to break my stall but didn't get double in, just about 1 1/2 as much and I lost 5 in one week. Also, I stopped loosing when I upped my workout schedule and my nut said I needed more calories. I ended up putting full fat dressing on my salads, Peanut Butter in my Protein shakes and adding avocado to my salad or sandwiches. It worked for me. Good luck!

  12. I am so thankful for this forum and all your comments. I was interested to see if I had slower progress than others but it seems we are all chugging along together! So proud of everyone and their progress!!!

    240lbs @ surgery

    Surgery Nov. 6, 2012

    Current @ 179lbs

  13. Well I've been stuck at the same weight for so long I've lost count! Welcome to the sixth month people :(

Some days I am at a place of peace with my weight loss so far' date=' some days (like today) I am not![/quote']

You should read the forum about doubling the Water and Protein. I was in a 2 month stall and tried it and it worked!

  14. I was sleeved 11/12 I've lost 61 lbs so far I feel great. I've never been this comfortable in my own skin. I have about 20lbs to go! I've recently found out I had gallstones I will be having surgery next week. Good job everyone!!!

Did you take meds to prevent this? I recently finished a bottle of meds to prevent gallstones and I have been pretty sporadic in taking this. I was just wondering if this is something I should worry about?

  15. Im glad to say its been 6 months since surgery and time flew! I was 285 at highest and lost 20 pre op. Since surgery I've lost another 45 making it a 65 lb total loss and I feel great. It was a bumpy road at first cause I got sick with a stomach virus and had to go back to the hospital 2x in the first week but as soon as I got over that its been pretty easy. I can eat anything now in sm quantities ' date=' except I notice ice cream makes me sick, and I go to curves 3-4x a week. It's awesome to be able to enjoy shopping again and I love that I can get rid of my "fat" clothes. I'm do grateful for wonderful friends and family support and this forum has been so helpful!!

Congrats, you look awesome! Isn't it great to get rid of the fat clothes!!!!
