Holy SH&@ that is a ton of weight! Congratulations! I'm 29 was sleeved on 11/20 and am only down around 40. What ever you are doing keep it up!!!!!

  2. Thank you! After reading other people's post I realize that any amount of weight loss is amazing. We have all made decisions to permanently change our lives and it's great that no matter the amount of weight that we have lost up until this point we are all making positive healthy decisions about what we are putting into our bodies. We were not doing this 6 months ago!

  3. I so feel like I'm not losing fast enough. Most of the time I'm not hungry but then time for bed and I grab some cheese cubes beef Jerky or almonds. Very hard to get all the liquids In and Proteins. It's 2 pm and I've had 25 GM Protein and 16 oz of liquids. Surgery on 11/20 severe complications that kept me in hospital 5 days then I got the flu so I'm just coming around to eating. I've lost 28 lbs I exercise at work each weekday walking and stair climbing usually for 20 to 30 mins. On weekends I try to go somewhere and walk. Just feeling defeated. Some of you have lost in the 50-60 range with close to the same surgery date. What are you doing that I'm not doing. I'm also obsessed with the scale

I swear I am going through the same THING! I'm eating anywhere from 300 to 600 calories a day and walking for at least 30 minutes a day during my lunch break and check the scale everyday. It moves so slowly!! I've lonely lost 30 pounds since 11/20. Congratulations to all those who have had tremendous success. Hopefully I will someday soon be where you are.

  4. DON'T I REPEAT DO NOT CHEAT! I went to Starbucks to treat myself to some camomile tea, for some reason it just tastes better when someone else makes it. Anyway I say the pretty picture of the holiday brownie cake ball and just had to try it. Never AGAIN with in 20 minutes my head was pounding, I began sweating, and felt like I was going to die! My stomach didn't enjoy the cake ball either and I basically threw my guts up for 10 minutes straight. Moral of the story please heed my advice and abstain from sweets!!!!

  5. I did. I lost 9 lbs the first week after surgery and then gained 4 lbs the next two weeks' date=' eating 600-800 calories per day. I was soooo frustrated.

Now in week four, it is finally coming off. I am back below my lowest post-op weight, and I am knocking on wood that it is going to continue for a while now![/quote']

Thank you for this! It is so encouraging to know that I am not alone in this and we are all going through the same thing.

  6. What's going on VSG family. I went to the doctor today and I'm down 43 pounds. It's crazy to think that in 20 day since surgery I have lost 43 pounds. The last few days have been the most difficult since surgery It has been hard keeping hydrated my doctor was a lil upset and wants to see me again in a few day and if its not better she will be readmitting me. All and all I feel ok when I get something down I'm find other times I feel a lil weak. I hope all of you are doing great.

43 pounds that is incredible! Please take care of yourself and force yourself to drink fluids!

  7. I am there with you. I am 4 days out and not feeling the best. Every time I take a drink of anything' date=' it hurts...no matter if its warm or cold, a shake or Water. I'm up at night and just hoping this temporary. I am not regretting this, but it has been different than I expected. I had to stay in hospital an extra day due to not keeping anything down and being nauseous. The amount of gas I feel inside seems insane. Hoping every day will be better :-)[/quote']

I completely understand. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. I hope it gets better for you. It helps me to stand and drink then walk around. It WILL GET BETTER!

  8. To all you newly sleeved hang in there! Things will get better' date=' the pain will go away. I'm 8 days out, had a rough time in the beginning but I feel awesome now! Just a little soreness left in my middle incision but I'm back to my old self and you'll get there too. It will get easier when you get to full liquids and then puréed (only a few more days for me! Yay) And when you step on the scale you'll realize this has ALL been worth it! Hang in there, we're all pulling for you![/quote']

This gives me so much hope! I am 5 days post op and still am feeling miserable. I'm up all hours of the night walking trying to make the gas pain stop. I also have gained 4 pounds???? here's to hoping day 8 is the magic day!

  9. My turn is on next Tuesday the 20th. I have to be there by 8:30 for my noon surgery. I'm also seeing my surgeon tomorrow for my preop appointment and on Friday I see my bariatric PCP last time preoperatively. Getting excited...not really nervous though. I've had a number of surgeries in my lifetime. S it's old hat to me...though I'm a little concerned about the anesthesia. I either wake up mean or all lovey dovey. And I tend to sing dirty ditties when it's preop med time. Lol. Oh well.

We are surgery twins! The anticipation is the hardest part. Just think in a few days we are going to be on the road to looking and feeling great for life????

  10. Hi All. I'm Kris and scheduled for this Thursday November 15 for the Vertical Sleeve. I have a big problem that is likely to postpone my surgery. I have hives from my chest to my knees. It started about a month ago about the time I was trying all of the Liquid Protein drinks in prep for my 2 week pre-op diet. I was able to see an Allergist who tested for cassein and whey which were negative. He smirkly told me that I had Dry Skin and should apply any kind of moisturizer. When I saw my surgeon' date=' my skin was fairly calm. However, in the past week, my whole body is one big itch. Being on the high Protein liquid diet limits what I can eat, and I don't know which ingredient may be causing the problem. perhaps soy??? I have a referral to Dermatology which may take a month to get my appointment. I've been in touch with the surgeon and will see her tomorrow. I just can't picture them cutting into a splotchy rashy belly, nor can I picture trying to heal with hives over the incisions.

So, after 6 months of preparing - I've lost 26 pounds - and planning and rescheduling to get ready for Thursday, I do not know what will happen. If I reschedule, it will not be in December.

My mind is spinning, from Benadryl and from the thought of not having the surgery this week. Everything was ready to go. All of my obligations were rearranged. The freezer is stocked.

I'm so sorry for all that you are going through. I hope everything turns out well for you.

  11. Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to see the positive support that is going on here! I will be having my surgery in Mexico on November the 20th and am unbelievably excited. I am a 29 year old teacher from New Orleans, Louisiana and can't wait to begin my new journey. I have struggled with my weight for the past 6 years, gaining close to 100 pounds. I am excellent at losing 40 pounds and gaining 60 back, this is a skill that I no longer want to be an expert at!

I look forward to seeing everyone's progress as we begin this new journey together!
