Here goes my journey...........
Me and my husband drove form Las Vegas to San Diego where we were picked up by Ricardo( alighterme me new driver). We had to wait an extra hour at the airport cause it took him a little longer then expected to get across the border( wasn't his faught tho). Ricardo is very nice and he drove us straight to the Marriott hotel and got us checked in. The Marriott is really nice and clean. After getting settled in we went to the restaurant to eat. I didn't like the broth but my husband loved his meal, he has steak:)
The next day Abraham pick us up at 8:00 sharp to take us to the hospital . Once there I was checked into my room to relax before the testing began. I was then visited by Dr Lopez and Eduardo . Dr Lopez sat with me and explain the whole procedure. He advise that I will be given a cd of my surgery and All my lap paperwork to take back to the states. . Eduardo asked if I had any concern and he answered all my question also ( p.s. he is fine ..... Lol). Then i meet Dr Ortiz very friendly man, who advise me that he will be helping with my surgery. Finally had my rest ran ( EKG and blood test ) went into surgery around 12:30 . All I remember was the lady giving me a shot saying it will make me dizzy and next thing you know I wake up and I'm all done. When I woke up all the way I was in PAiN. I walked a little and spent most of the day sleeping . They gave me pain meds to help he sleep through the night .
The next day I felt so much better !!!!!!! But I was starving. I had to drink the blue stuff( It was so nasty) then I drank this white stuff and did the X-ray to make sure no leaks . Then finally I was giving apple juice. The apple juice felt like heaven... Lol I'm now just relaxing in my room watching tv and drinking juice. Tomorrow going to the Marriott and I getting this IV taken out.

Had surgery August 9th with Lopez. I am his biggest fan

I had Dr. Lopez on the 3rd, it was a great experiience, I am healing wonderfully. Just got home last night. I just keep having to remind myself to drink drink drink so I don't get dehydrated. I have noticed hot and warm liquids go down and feel much better than cold liquids, and I have already noticed my tastes have changed. It is strange, but good! I also have zero hunger, and no desire to eat, which I honestly did not believe would happen. I could not say greater things about Dr. Lopez, A Lighter Me, Mi hospital, Abraham, or Eduardo. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Thank you Lilly!! That's exactly what I plan to do, Marriott with Garcia. I'd love to see more!!!!

Dr. Lopez was very nice and caring. Some of the nurses speak better English than others but they all are super nice and are there to make sure you have everything you need. You will stay on one floor the whole time. The 3rd floor is in the shape of an L and at the end is the recovery and operating rooms. You will be walking the hallway lots for recovery, walking is very important, even if you don't feel like you need to get up and walk. My husband had me up about 30 mins after I came back from surgery. You want to walk to help the gas in your belly. I didn't pack a lot just comfortable clothes and house shoes. Dr. Lopez or another dr will remove your drain the night before you leave. It feels weird but it you will feel better when it is gone. The hotel gives you 3 bowls of chicken broth, two Popsicles and 2 bottles of Water each day. At the hospital they have a cafe that closes at 4pm so if someone is going with you they will want to get there dinner before then. Also on the 4th floor there is some ladies that make food up there and Brian said it was really good. It was such a smooth process and I can not tell you again how nice and how good the nurses and doctors treated me. You will meet and internist, anesthesiologist and Dr. Lopez before surgery. They all are great. When I got back to hotel the chicken broth did taste different but I think it was my taste buds from surgery. I did eat Jello there and it was easy to get down. I have been counting down the days since March and it still feels unreal!

COOL!!!! 6months ago I felt the same way. But now November is pretty much gone n February is around the corner!!!

I'M SHOOTING FOR FEB AS WELL! I DON'T KNOW HOW I'M GONNA MAKE IT TILL THEN!

Just made it home tonight from surgery with lopez. He is super nice and all the nurses at hospital took really good care of me. Very pleased
