    muscle soreness

Hello Active Sleevers! I just recently really stepped up my workouts by joining Crossfit. I was never an athlete, so it's a whole new world. I am getting a great workout, but I am also getting my butt kicked. I have such sore legs after leg day, it's ridiculous. I know it is temporary, I'll work past it, but I am looking for your insider athletic secret tricks for recovery. Anything you do to sooth the aches and maybe even prevent them??

    Huge ass boil ! Ouch ! ?

I used to get these. They are awful! Once you have one it is hot rag and wait it out time. You can help prevent them, I have not had one in over a year, by scrubbing the areas you usually get them with a loofah and, believe it or not, Summer's Eve "body" wash. It works because the wash helps to keep around the good bacteria, that you need to heal the boil and prevent new ones. They also make a powder that I apply to keep dry, also prevention. Like others have said, if this one does not go away in a couple of days go see the Dr. Hope you feel better soon!
  3. I think everyone is different, but I am about six weeks out now and I had considerable pain on my right side until a few days ago. I over did it a few times and I am sure I extended the healing period. My advice, looking back, take it easy. And one day you will wake up and it will be gone. Take it ready that day too.
  4. hey all, I wanted to fill you all in. I stayed with my plan. I increased my Protein and I got "regular" and today I stepped on the scale and came in at 299 (under 300!!)! I am so excited and I want to thank all of you for the encouragement and advice. It made a world of difference! I have lost 27 lbs in five weeks and I feel good about that. thank you.
  5. Ok, I really appreciate it. Thank you all. I am going to just keep on keepin on. I like the idea of the zen of weight loss. And I am monitoring more closely my ummm, bathroom activity. You are all invaluable. When you say low fat/ low carb. What should be the targets? I heard under 40g carb (I have been near 20g) and under 30g fat. That sound about right?

    Pain In My Leg/hip?

Thank you all. Sounds like you have reached a consensus. I will just keep trucking along. Crossing my fingers that I will drop weight and it will ease up. *sigh*
  7. Hey all. I have been keeping up on the conversations here finding them so helpful. Thank you all for the inspiration. I had a dud of a phone conversation with my NUT today and I would love to have your opinion. I was sleeved on 10/15 starting weight of 326 day of surgery. On 10/23, I weighed in at 305 and I was so excited! On that day my doctor allows patients to start real foods, chicken, steamed vegetables nothing over the top. I have been drinking at least 64oz of Water, and getting in about 60-70 grams of Protein (thanks to the shakes), and eating only about 400-600 calories a day. I am adding walking in at least 20 min a day. I was feeling really great, proud of doing it all like I was told. I got on the scale this morning and weighed in at 308. I gained 3 lbs! I'm so disappointed. I used myfitnesspal and showed my NUT and she said I should switch to low fat cheese (I ate a half a mozzarella stick twice). Really? That was the best she had. What am I doing wrong?

    Pain In My Leg/hip?

Thanks for the tips. I am on it. I thought about going to a chiropractor, but being so fresh out of surgery, I am a but afraid. I don't get why this started up after surgery. It's so unfortunate.
  9. Ok, I need some advice. I am about two and a half weeks out of surgery. I am healing up great and feeling good. Except, I have this mind numbing pain that starts at my hip and radiates down to my knee on my left side. Sometimes it feels numb, and other times it is like something hooked me up to a car battery with jumper cables! Anyone else experience this? And better yet, anything work to make it go away? It's worst when I lay down to sleep and I am desperate for a pain free night. Thanks!
