  1. I am self-pay. My insurance would not pay due to lower BMI. I have read some people had good results with Mexico/Trip-but I preferred to stay local.
  2. I'm 60 and BMI 31. My surgery is scheduled for next month. Your posting is very encouraging. How are you doing now?
  3. Any current low BMIs? I'm at 31 but have tried to loose for the past 10 years. B/P and cholesterol issues. Knees etc. Scheduled for March.
  4. So glad to hear this! My BMI is 31-and I have been nervous too! Scheduled for 1/28.
  5. I am 60. My BMI is 31. I did not have a weight problem until the past 10 years. But, I am now on cholesterol and blood pressure meds. I am scheduled for Jan 28th. I go back and forth and think about the possible complications. But, I have tried all types of the dieting programs including HCG, Medifast, etc nothing works. I have friends that had this procedure with much success.
  6. Sorry to hear this, it sounds painful. I hope it can be easily healed. Keep us updated.
  7. 61--and count down to January 28th
  8. Kinda down. I first was scheduled Jan 18th-got scheduled earlier on the 14th----real excited about that- got work arranged around it-got my cardiace clearance and PCP visits scheduled---then I got rescheduled for Jan 28th.I just need to rearrange my work scheduled. But-I am attempting to be discreet-a few choice few wiil actually know my journey. I'm self pay. So I can keep it a little more 'undercover." BMI 31 with several comordities. Borderline diabetic, on HP pills, on Crestor. and 60 years. I guess tonight I am cleansing my soul. And body attempting to keep your surgery--your business and not everyone esle? I'm heavy on privacy..
  9. Congrats Asherje! You sound great! Thanks for your update.
  10. Mine is scheduled14th too! We will have to stay in contact!
  11. Tallysfunny, Not stockpiling the protein drinks prior surgery -makes a lot of sense! Thank you. And to reply to another poster regarding soy vs whey. Soy protein upsets my stomach too.
  12. I'm 60. Surgery scheduled Jan 14. Preop diet starts Jan 1. After reading your postings-I'm even feeling better about getting this done! Thanks
  13. SerendipityHappens thank you for the supportive words. Infact thank Barry77 for starting this conversation. I start my preop Jan 1-scheduled surgery the 14th. I am working on getting my head "right" regarding the preop and immediate postop diet. Thank you!
  14. I don't start my preop diet until Jan 1. But, I'm already nervous about it.
  15. I agree with above---Nectar. Nectar mixes easily and doesn't have that "chalky" texture. I like the strawberry and fuzzy naval. The vanilla is good too.
  16. Mine is scheduled Jan. 14th!
