  1. I need to get some fiber into my diet. This is my first week post op and uh..it's been difficult.
  2. DAAAAANG! Looking great! These are the kind of results I am hoping for.... my birthday is at the end of March. Hoping to be in Onederland by then. Only 40 lbs to go!
  3. No problem! I would avoid anything super sweet and frothy and full of cream like Starbucks. Confirm with them but I am guessing that's what they mean.
  4. This would not be a reason to convert to an open surgery. Only if you had multiple previous surgeries and lots of scar tissue.
  5. Since you're only on liquids, that seems fine to me. It's no sugar added so you're already cutting down on sugar and calories. Plus you might be able to get down what... 8 oz all day? By high calorie they might mean something super sweet like.. I don't know like an Orange Julius or something like that. I was told to not avoid full sugar products the first few weeks out because our bodies need the calories.
  6. Yes, I'm afraid for my boobs and my thighs. UGH. She has no boobage and was never all that big. I have G cups right now. :/

239.2 It;s been forever since I saw a number that started in 23- that stayed for very long. I hit it very briefly in June but my weight bounced right back up as soon as I came off of the restrictive Whole 30 plan. It never went back down there. The lowest I've seen in recent years is about 235. Once I get past that point, it will be like breaking new ground. In 2007 I was able to get down to 218... once I see 217, I might do backflips.
  8. The real reason is because its loaded with sugar and calories and chemicals and a lot of Sleeves react adversely to it....violent cramps and vomiting.
  9. I have to agree that 15 lbs in less than a month is not a slow loss. Thats pretty dang good considering 8 lbs a month is considered really good and you've lost twice that in less the time. Yes, people with more to lose drop more in the beginning. The closer you are to goal the slower the loss is.
  10. I didn't but you will want to contact your surgeon. Chances are they will tell you that you need to be on Clear liquids until your surgery. The point of the pre op diet is to shrink the liver and prep your body for post op. S/he should know that you have been eating so s/he can determine what you need to do before surgery.
  11. Before you get a date, you fill out a patient history and get approved when you send that in. There are certain patients a doc might not feel comfortable taking. They need to know something about you. I did a blood test and an X-ray upon arrival for my Sleeve. I was not required to do anything before. Without Insurance companies calling the shots, the process is streamlined and moved quickly. You will work with a coordinator who will arrange everything but your airfare. Airfare is never included. I felt more pampered in MX than I've ever felt at a city hospital. They're there for you. They're all about you.
  12. Just take a break between different pills. Don't stack them up in your sleeve.
  13. Man I couldn't handle those Pre sleeve. I dunno what's in that stuff but no go for launch.
  14. My friend named hers Evilene. Because her sleeve can be evil. Jelly is a good girl.
  15. Day 2 is the worst. Tomorrow should be better. The hearing pad should help a lot.
  16. Or am I the only weirdo? I've heard so many people say the Sleeve has a mind of its own and it's own personality, So much that they call it by a name... SleevieWonder is popular. Mine is named Jelly. What's yours?
  17. Yep if I could go to the same surgeon.
  18. Been sleeping on either side since day 3!
  19. Take your pain meds, get your walking in and concentrate on healing! Also an anti acid and Tums Chewables are great for gas and swelling.
  20. You won't break anything. It just pills your muscles.
  21. See if you can get some halls or Mucinex to thin the mucous. I've had the cough as well -from the trach tube-- and yes it hurts. The pillow helps!
