  1. Can I just contribute and say that I cried when I got my flu shot yesterday. Wtf? Yes hormones are ruling the universe!!
  2. Is anyone else tired on their preop diet? Any suggestions?
  3. Day one of pre op diet and I am already looking at how I can make it exciting. I just wanted to share that if u like flavored syrup for adding to shakes or drinks the Torani website has about 30 different sugar free flavored syrups. I was so excited!!
  4. So today was the first day of my pre op diet. I found that pinterest was really helpful to take my mind off of food stuff when I got home from work. There are so many cute holiday crafts that don't include food. I could try and make something nice for friends and family. It's a cool distraction.
  5. Getting sleeved on the 10th. Starting my pre op diet tomorrow. So happy it's moving quickly!!
  6. I feel the exact same way. I don't know if it's different for me because I actually do surgery for a living or because I am used to be in control in the operating room. Last week my therapist asked I she had told me about her complication- she had a RNY- and then proceeded to tell me this horror story. I really could have done without that. I just think that people like to relate on whatever level. They think they are helping I am sure. I just need to remember that everyone has their own experience.
  7. Call the drs office on Monday. Until then cover it with dry gauze everyday and tape. Don't use band aids. It could be dehissing and if so ur doc may want u to be on antibiotics. Also use a light dab of neosporin.
  8. You are an inspiration!! I hope that I do as well as you after I get sleeved in December. Remember that this is for the long haul!!
  9. Feel better! Now you will need to focus on how to take care of yourself without food. Hot bath, menthol vapor, tea, heating pad, magazines or just allowing yourself to chill out. Take care of yourself and give yourself the princess treatment!!
  10. Go to the er. You need an egd. You may have an ulcer.
  11. You look amazing!! I'll be joining you on the losers bench 12/10!!!
  12. Newgm I hope you feel better!! That sounds aweful. And to have it happen during the holidays. Let us know how you are. Take care!
  13. Congrats!! I hope to have such great results. Keep us updated on your progress.
  14. Just think that by Christmas we will be new people!!
  15. Oh I feel so at home! I do feel kind of yucky and I will be happy to start the liquid diet on Monday. I'm also tryin to use this time to remember what "before" feels like. I don't want to be here again. So thankful for my sleeve and all of you! Have a great day tomorrow !
  16. So it's officially one week until I start my pre op Diet and I have been eating like crap! Even though I am obviously over weight I don't normally eat drive through food or sugar in large amounts like I have been for the past week. I guess I just needed to vent or hope that someone could relate. I am really just feeling so impatient that I h e to wait three more weeks until surgery! I have never been good at waiting for what I want. I guess it's good that I can identify what I'm feeling.
  17. I will be by myself at the hospital but I know that I have the phone. Also from what I have read the time flies because u r busy walking and sleeping. I don't know if I would be a great hostess or want to have anyone see me except for some really nice nurses with medication!!
  18. Congrats!! You are consistent and have shown that this journey works. Thank u for being inspiring.
  19. Mine is the 10th too! It feels Like its seeking up quickly.
  20. I'm always so excited when I see people post that they are hours away!! Relax and think good thoughts. Remember that this is just one more step towards becoming as beautiful and strong outside as you are inside!! Enjoy this victory.
  21. Just remember ladies, you can't go on a diet and get a personality!! These stupid skinny ladies making comments are stuck with rocks for brains. At least we all can think in our feet. We have had the gift as many have said of experiencing these two lives. One heavy and one healthier. Amen!
