Do you drink with your food?

    I honestly can't tell either...but I'm only drinking a few sips.
  2. I have a problem with boiled eggs too. Which is odd because I can eat most other things.
  3. Nov. 2nd. surgery date weighed 212 (I'm 5'6). As of today I weigh 185, so 27 lbs loss. Thought I'd lose it faster but then again I'm not starving myself or on a really restrictive calorie diet either.I just try to stay aware of what I'm eating and not consume too many calories. I can pretty much eat anything. The only thing that really gives me a problem is boiled/deviled eggs...odd, but I think it's because the egg takes awhile to 'break down' in the stomach? Otherwise no problem with rice, shrimp, bread and other foods some people have mentioned. I haven't tried a steak yet but hamburger hasn't given me a problem.
  4. That just goes to show you that brands are different when it comes to sizes. I'm 5'6 weigh 188 and have 3 size 14's that fit great...but I have 2 other 14's that don't fit...all 5 are different brands.

    completely disgusted....

jsi1261 I had my surgery Nov. 2nd and feel the same way. I've lost 22lbs and of course happy about that, but I sure thought I would have lost more by now...of course Thanksgiving and Christmas didn't help matters!
  6. Until I get to the size I want to be I buy my jeans at thrift store/garage sales. I have 5 pairs of size 14 jeans and 3 pairs of 16's. Three pairs of the 14's fit (others too tight) and 1 pair of the 16 aren't too loose (rest too loose). It's the brand of jean I promise!
  7. I haven't actually measured my food (since those first few weeks) but I'd say that (3/4 cup) sounds like me depending on the food. Some days I seem to be able to eat more than other days..BUT my problem is sluggish metabolism. I really have to keep my calories low to lose...have always been that way My problem isn't sweets its more carbs like white rice, flour, pasta etc..

Do you drink with your food?

I'm going to try to do this religiously today and see if it makes a difference! I'm even setting the timer for 30min on my phone. Thanks for the help.

    *signs* Stall !

if it makes you feel any better I had my surgery Nov. 2nd and have lost 23lbs as of today. My height is 5'6 and I weighed 212 day of surgery 189 today. Your height/starting weight makes a difference . Sounds like your doing awesome..your body just probably needs to adjust for the rapid 19 lb. loss.

    You've lost 19lbs since Dec. 12th?
  13. UNJURY protein mix tasted the best to me of all the protein mixes, shakes, bars etc. that I tried and believe me I bet I spent $400 trying them! Honestly I still didn't get my required protein in after all that. I think most people struggle with getting the protein in at first. When you get to the stage that you can eat fish and other meats you won't have to worry about it.

Do you drink with your food?

Dr. said it wouldn't bother the sleeve it would just make me feel hungry sooner. I'm going to try not to drink when I eat but it seems when I do that my food feels all 'cloggy' in my stomach
  15. Surgery Nov. 2nd. Counting my weight from day of surgery (212lbs.) So as of today Dec. 4th .. I've lost 23lbs. I thought the weight would go faster but I'm not going to lie I don't exercise like I should...and I can eat pretty much anything...oddly enough deviled eggs/boiled eggs don't agree with my stomach.

Bmi 35 Need To Lose 75 Lbs

Hi I had my surgery Nov. 2nd.and was approx. 212lbs. I am now 190 and my goal is 150....although 145 would be wonderful! My metabolism/hormones and yo-yo dieting have made my weigh loss a little slow but I'm not a big 'exercizer' so that doesn't help either. I'm glad I had it done and haven't had any problems from it at all.
  17. I was groggy of course but otherwise I was fine. I didn't have any problems with pain . I asked the nurse to discontinue the morphine pump the second day because it was making me so groggy I couldn't get up and walk around. I was extremely surprised that I wasn't in any pain...of course I had some soreness at my incisions..but I didn't have what I consider to be pain. I was really worried my stomach would cause me pain but it didn't at all. Honestly that blood thinner shot hurt more than anything! LOL...it felt like a hornet stung me!

    :( Haven't Had Protein

I have a friend that had the sleeve done about 6mths. ago and she was having hair loss problems but said it got a lot better once she was able to eat meat and get enough Protein.

    :( Haven't Had Protein

krazynique I had those questions too, but what I realize is that without the sleeve if I were doing the 800 cal. a day I'd be miserable and hungry. Since I have the sleeve I can eat that amount and be satisfied and not hungry. Plus when I do get to my goal weight it will be easier to maintain since I have a smaller stomach. Don't get me wrong I still crave some foods sometimes, and I still have to exercize self control ..for example I love cheese flavored chex mix and could probably eat my 800 cal plus more throughout the day if I had a bag lying around. LOL.. So I know to either NOT buy it or if I want something I'm craving buy a small single serving of it. Unfortunately the surgery doesn't take away your self control issues BUT in my case it has made it easier.

    :( Haven't Had Protein

Good idea. I never thought about just alternating and doing the shakes every other day. Maybe that will help boost my metabolism a little!

    :( Haven't Had Protein

Doxie I had mine this month Nov. 2nd...and the odd thing is ever since I was in my teens I've always shed hair. It never thins, I just shed hair like crazy...oddly enough since the surgery I barely do that. Of course I believe its due to the vitamins I'm taking. I've really struggled to get the protein in, especially in the first week or 2, but now at least I can eat a piece of tender fish and that helps me get some. I unfortunately don't have to worry about losing the weight to fast, my weight loss is SLOOOW, or at least it seems to me it is!
