  1. Nov. 2nd @ surgery 212 lbs. I now weigh 167. I am 5'6. I on average lose 7-8lbs. a month. I have a low BMI so I have to remind myself it's going to be slower for me. I try to keep my calories at 800-1000...I succeed in that most days but not always. I ate what I wanted to around the holidays and ate some chocolate covered strawberries on Valentines. I also stray a few days out of the month and eat something I've been craving. I want to weigh 150-155lbs.

  2. Hi everyone, I am new. I was sleeved on feb. 26, 2013, preop weight 212 and I am 5' 6". My goal is 150 lbs and my current weight is 205. I have lost nothing in the second week and am very discouraged. I have Pcos and very hig cholesterol, etc. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Ejmai! Our weight, height and goal weights are exactly the same! First let me say don't be discouraged. I had surgery Nov. 2nd and weighed 212. I weigh 167 today. I feel and look SO much better! I average 6-8 pounds a month. However everyone is different and I also had 3 holidays to tempt me. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentines (I LOVE chocolate covered strawberries! LOL) I think because we have a lower BMI it doesn't come off as fast. However I am not a big exerciser and don't exercise like should. so you may very well lose it a lot faster than I have. I have a app on my phone that I use sometimes to keep up with calories. I highly recommend it. Its called MY FITNESS PAL. I will be happy to answer any questions can :)

  3. Nov. 2nd. surgery date weighed 212 (I'm 5'6). As of today I weigh 185, so 27 lbs loss. Thought I'd lose it faster but then again I'm not starving myself or on a really restrictive calorie diet either.I just try to stay aware of what I'm eating and not consume too many calories. I can pretty much eat anything. The only thing that really gives me a problem is boiled/deviled eggs...odd, but I think it's because the egg takes awhile to 'break down' in the stomach? Otherwise no problem with rice, shrimp, bread and other foods some people have mentioned. I haven't tried a steak yet but hamburger hasn't given me a problem.

  4. I too have had a few disgusting moments. I just thought that my weight would come off easier than it is. I lost 25 pounds before I even had my surgery on November 14th, but I seem to be struggling to lose the 8 pounds that I lost last month. I've always heard that on a regular diet, for most eople, a 1-2 pound weight loss a week is perfectly normal. But with the sleeve, I feel that 1-2 pounds a week is not enough--especially when I see posts where people lose 60 pounds in 3 months. That's my rant. I just thought it would go faster.....

I had my surgery Nov. 2nd and feel the same way. I've lost 22lbs and of course happy about that, but I sure thought I would have lost more by now...of course Thanksgiving and Christmas didn't help matters!

  5. I was sleeved 11/14/12 lost 21lbs so far, hit a couple of stalls too, have to keep working on my Water and Protein. Haven't started exercising yet, but I also thought it would go faster. And can also eat anything, sometimes up to 3/4 cup of food.< /p>

I haven't actually measured my food (since those first few weeks) but I'd say that (3/4 cup) sounds like me depending on the food. Some days I seem to be able to eat more than other days..BUT my problem is sluggish metabolism. I really have to keep my calories low to lose...have always been that way :(

My problem isn't sweets its more carbs like white rice, flour, pasta etc..

  6. I am a bad girl. Yes I drink when I eat sometimes. Definitely within those 30 minutes. But I am almost 2 1/2 years out. Things are back to normal. I can eat more than I should. So, I am warning you not to follow me. Bad habits can slip back in.

What happens when you eat & drink together? The pyloric value can allow food to slip through more easily, so you do not get the "full" feeling and in the end eat more

    Be wise and don't start.

Have you done ok with maintaining your weight?

  7. well my story outa make you feel better about yourself. sleeved on 11/12/12 weight day of surgery about 222. Today I am only at 209. you do the math - 13lbs. That's it! over christmas weeks I lost nothing. I ate a little less mindfully and had a few Lindt candies, but still nothing. So this week I hit everything on target - 72oz Water, Protein Protein protein. little to no carbs - what do you know? I stepped on the scale this morning and it is STILL 209. I'm gonna continue and then weigh myself in a few more days, and if still nothing - I'm going back for a refund! LOL. Could I possibly be the only sleeved patient that never loses any more weight? Dear god I hope not...

LOL...I keep thinking they're going to call me to be on Good Morning America as the slowest weight loss after having had gastric sleeve!

  8. if it makes you feel any better I had my surgery Nov. 2nd and have lost 23lbs as of today. My height is 5'6 and I weighed 212 day of surgery 189 today. Your height/starting weight makes a difference . Sounds like your doing awesome..your body just probably needs to adjust for the rapid 19 lb. loss.
