  1. Hw:294 Dos:260 Current:249 Total:45lbs Post Surg: 11lbs 18 days out from surgery. I'm a slow loser, but completely happy loser. Not going to complain.
  2. I was sleeved the same day I had a full week of the scale not moving but lost 2 inches off my waist. And if your not having bowel movements that could be why you gained. I didn't have one for almost 9 days, then had 5 in 2 days and lost a pound lol I don't worry about it, it will start moving again mine did
  3. They did the my leak test while i was under. They shoot air into your stomach and wait for little bubbles to seep out if there is a leak if no bubbles come out your good to go! Maybe every hospital should do that.
  4. Maybe the title should say you guys not just women I'm sure everybody struggled with this. I apologize to the men
  5. Ok I know this is probably bordering TMI. My highest weight was 294 but mostly lingered about 280 since 2004. My sex life consisted of the ceiling view. But just recently I got the birds eye view lol. I was on top the whole time. Not out of breath, not hurting from shifting weight. No hurting my husband! I have been waiting for this for a very long time(so has my husband). I'm now almost 3 weeks post op at 250, dos 264? I'm pretty sure. But I just wanted to share my excitement about conquering another area in my life that I've so longed to have control of. And feel good about myself in the bedroom again! )
  6. I seem to be exactly that, except its not like I get crazy bm's. But I experience pain and nausea when eaten. Milk, powder milk, yogurt, hurt! But cheese is ok.....i was sleeved 12/10. Is it LI?
  7. Here's the truth for me. After surgery I wasn't hungry the first day. Second day I was but it was very painstakingly hard to force myself to eat. I had a hard time eating for a week and half. Finally forced myself to get down more fluids and more of start o wad suppose to. I've been experimenting with soft pureed foods. I've vomited from not pacing my bites. I find I have mental hunger, but I can separate physical hunger and mental. I absolutely cannot over eat or I vomit. So I'm very careful to recognize which hunger I'm trying to feed. So even now I can go without eating, but its very important to keep schedule with eating, because you need to boost your metabolism. Good luck!
  8. Mine is the pain in the sternum...... I burp with every bite... Is that weird?
  9. I don't know but I get the same. Then it leads to vomiting. I'm just now 16 days out I'm struggling with certain foods. And knowing I'm full until its too late. I think I'm going to space out my bites by minutes. Good luck.
  10. Ok if I don't consume enough protein and fluid I won't lose weight, right? I am at 254 been there for a week and 2 days and I'm only just two weeks post op.... I'm frustrated help!
  11. No problem guys. I'm trying to reach 700 calories today lol its funny I have to try, I just have to get out of my stall. I hope you all are doing excellent )
  12. I'm in metro detroit had my surgery 12/10 /12 henry ford hospital. Glad to see I'm not the only one from here
  13. My nut said to use dry powder milk to double protien during first couple of weeks use in soups, cerials, and anything like yogurt. I only have to do one protien shake And I found out why I stalled...to few calories lol never been told in my life I wasn't eating enough lol
  14. Ok surgery monday 12/10/12 and I've been during at 254 since thursday. I'm quite frustrated.....Help.
  15. I'm day 5 & still not where you are. Good job!
  16. I get pain in my stomach and chest, first I thought I was putting too much in. Then I realized when it was happening. At some point we should be able to handle it better )
  17. No room temp isnt any easier. I would have thought so too. Ty for your suggestion. I figure its a small price to pay to have my life back.
  18. So I was worried about taking too much in being 3 days post op. But now that I'm 5 days I realized the pain I have with water is normal. I'm just going to bare through it. The only thing that goes down without pain is warm soup. And I can fill myself up on soup all day so I started to just evaluate the situation and I'm going to listen to my body. I am glad I'm understanding this a lot better. I have more confidence today )
  19. Its normal if they intubated you during surgery. Keep coughing you don't want to let it build up. They had me doing deep breathing in order to get it moving in the hospital.
  20. Hi everybody, Highest weight:294 june of 2012 Bariatric meeting:286 oct 12 Day before surgery:261 dec 9th 5 days post op: 255 I have been heavy since age 8. I'm only 5'3. Currently 24 pant and 3x shirt.
  21. Thank you I thought that was gas pain from swallowing air. Ok I know now. How are you getting your protein in? I always want water.
  22. I dont know how to tell that I've eaten enough or if I haven't. I also have a thirst urge I have learned to drink slower because air bubbles HURT! I have a hard time with protein bcuz it makes me want to vomit. But I'm try I get about 15-30 but they said it would take a couple of days to get there. But I feel I can get quite a bit in so my question is what does it feel like to be full, I don't want to over eat...
  23. I understand the gas pain, my doctor doesn't use drains. So I don't have one. I was sleeved on monday, I'm finally passing gas just started this morning, but I still have a ton of has in my abdomen, it will get better, hang in there. Give it a couple more days.
  24. So everything went great surgery was perfect, and I had no complications (praise God!). Let me be very honest. The first day was horrible, even into the first night. I had so much chest pain from the gas and acid reflux, its extremely painful, but would rather see you prepared. My only incision that hurt was the one where they took out my stomach. It burned but by day two I was fine. I'm excited to go home today. Yesterday I had 14oz of liquid and today I've already had 4 yes I'm tired. But walking gives me energy and it helps with moving my food and gas so very much do as much walking as you can. I wish you all the best of luck on your journies. And remember you make this tool work for you, but you must exercise abs use it the right way. I'm glad I made this decision, one of the best choices I made )
