I'm also going to Dr. Alvarez. I am scheduled for January 18th. I told my mom in sort of a tricky way. I then explained that he is in MX and everyone just raves about him, but I didn't know about going to MX. I then threw in that not only is he better and more experienced, but he's also less expensive than this local doc I was considering. She said, she'd go to MX to the better doctor. I couldn't believe it! Never in a million years did I think my mother would be supportive. She is very afraid of me becoming a diabetic and having to have shots the rest of my life.
At first she thought I was rushing into it, but when I told her I was looking into the lapband 5 years ago, but after researching it, I decided against it because of the complications, she realized how long I have been struggling and researching this. She was adamently opposed to the lapband. I read lots of posts to her from people on this board (and reviews of Dr. Alvarez) and it seemed to convince her. I feel incredibly lucky to have her support!

That's great news! I'm around the same weight that you started out as, and my surgery is in 11 days..I can't wait and will be so happy to see the 150's again too!! Size 10? that's amazing, I don't even remember what a size 10 looks like, so you've given me lots of encouragement, thank you and good luck on your continued success!

Mine slowed down cause I had some poo problems...in fact up until last weds I was up 2lbs and then my digestive system kicked in again and that helped.

Hang in there and stick with it. Your weight gain could be attributed to several factors, including the replacement of glycogen stores. Many people on here say your body stores 4oz or water for each 1 oz of glycongen stored.
If you stick to your 450-700 calories a day, your body may fight to hang onto every calorie it can. But eventually it will have to burn those calories for fuel.
I was stuck for about 8 days during my 3rd week. Weight wouldn't come off at all, then I had a MASSIVE POOP and was down over a pound that day. :-P
Since then, I know that I've had at least one other week where I was stuck at a certain weight for the week, then the weight just started falling again.

First of all, you look fantastic! I love the boots.
I'm so sorry that you are having some family issues. I think the mother/daughter relationship is incredibly complex and difficult. I hope it improves for you.
