    11 month update

I haven't been on here in a very long time. I thought I'd stop in and share my progress. I am a shortie at 5'2". My highest weight was around 210. I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but I had been struggling with my weight for 20+ years. My surgery weight was 181. I have lost slowly and consistently for the past 14 months. I started really working on my weight loss several months prior to surgery. Today I weigh 114. I am past my original goal. I do not want to lose anymore. Typically I wear a size 2. I don't feel like a thin person, though. It is so hard mentally, because I still feel like I think like a fat person. Unfortunately, I have reintroduced some bad habits. I am drinking diet soda again. I am not getting the Water I should. I also don't always make the healthiest food choices. I just don't eat as much as I used to. I do get hungry and I do have cravings. I do exercise, but I go in phases with it. I love being able to wear fashionable clothes. I feel so much better in my own skin. I am really glad I made the decision I did. I couldn't have even have come close to getting this far without surgery.

    11 month update

I have never posted pics before. If you want to pm me and give me your #, I'll text more pics. Just not comfortable sharing pics online. I have attached 1 before and 1 after. They aren't great, but hopefully it gives you an idea.

    Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?

I have an update too! This morning I was 123.6. I have been hovering around 125 for the last several weeks. I am very happy with my weight now. I don't think I want to go as low as 115 anymore. 120 would be perfect I think. My bmi is 22.6. I feel great. I feel like I am more myself now and the person I am supposed to be. Best. Decision. Ever.

    Does it just stop?

I am wondering the same thing. I have lost 50lbs since surgery too. I had lost over 20 in the months leading up to surgery, but was a low bmi at the time of surgery. You can see my stats and monthly loss in y signature. . I am 6 1/2 months out and have done great so far, but I haven't lost in the last month either. In fact, I've gained a couple of pounds. I have definitely not been as good as I should be on the Protein and Water intake. I do weigh every day and that helps me stay on track. For me, if I ignore the scale, I will tend to slack off and go into denial mode and start gaining. I am very pleased with my current weight, but I'd like to lose 9 more pounds. This morning I am at 129. But would love to hit 120. I am only 5'2". Is my weight loss likely to sop at this point since I am over 6 months out and since I am in the "normal" bmi range? Nicki, my hunch is that you are in a stall and will keep losing.
  5. 5 and 1/2 months. I am still losing.
  6. HW 205 SW 179 CW 130 Surgery date was 1/18. I am in the normal bmi range.
  7. Surgery was 1/18. I weighed 179 but had been dieting for several months. I had gotten up around 205-210. My bmi was 37.5. Today I weigh 134.2. So I have lost 45lbs since surgery and over 70lbs overall. I am a normal bmi and feel great. Loving my sleeve. I feel like I eat normally now. It is so nice to no longer have to fight the food battle!
  8. So great to hear from you. I am not comfortable posting pics on here, but if u send me a private message I'd be happy to share individually with people. I'm excited for you getting your surgery soon. I am sure you will be thrilled. Just be patient with the results.
  9. I thought I'd chime in here. I am 5'2" and my highest weight was between 205 and 210. I have struggled with my weight for all of my adult life (and some as a teenager). Anyway, I would always lose weight, but I'd regain what I'd lost plus more. I lost over 20 lbs prior to surgery on 1/18/13 and I am happy to say that today, barely 5 months after surgery, I weigh 134.2. I am at a healthy bmi for the first time in over 15 years. When I did hit a healthy bmi 15 years ago it was a huge struggle to get there and I didn't stay there long. I am really happy with the outcome of my surgery. I am losing really slowly now, but can't complain about it. I am in size 6s and don't really have too much more to lose. Ultimately, I think I'd like to end up between 120-125, but we'll see. I have all of my stats in my signature, but I know everyone can't see them if you are using the app, so I am reposting it in the body of this. Highest weight: 205 Weight on DOS 1/18/2013: 179 (-26) 1 month 2/18/13: 161.4 (-17.6) (-43.6 total) 2 months 3/18/13: 154.4 (-7). Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?

I was 4 months out yesterday and wanted to post an update. Yesterday I was 141.8, but today I woke up and was in the 139.8. I had made it to 139.6 a couple of weeks ago and then gained for a few days. I am so glad to be back in the 130s. It has been a very long time!! I have noticed when I have a big drop, my body will gain some back for a few days and then start dropping a bit again. I chart my weight loss, so it's interesting to see the patterns. I am feeling "normal" now and am soooo close to a normal bmi. I am wearing size small tops and dresses and size 8 pants/shorts/jeans. I am pear shaped. You can see my monthly weightloss in my signature below. I hope my fellow low bmi'ers are all doing well. Keep the updates coming!

Facial features change after weight loss?

I'm right there with you. I love how I am looking, but not loving the new wrinkles. I am seriously considering Botox.

    Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?

You are doing great. It is crazy how differently our bodies react to the sleeve. I have had all the foods you mentioned with no real problems. How tall are you?

    Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?

I am impressed by your bmi. Still waiting to get into the "normal" range here.

    Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?

Just wanted to give an update. I am just over 3 months out. I was sleeved 1/18. You can see my monthly loss in my signature. I am so excited because I've been losing a pound a day for the last few days-- very unusual for me. As of this morning I weigh 144.8. I feel great. I am looking pretty good in clothes (not so great out of them ), I am wearing mediums and size 8s in bith tops and pants. I am even less than 10lbs away from a normal bmi-- which I haven't been in 15+ years. I am very happy with my decision to get sleeved!!

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

Ummm. I hate to break it to you, but you are NOT a slow loser. I am amazed at how fast you have lost!!

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

I am 5'2". I am losing pretty slowly but consistently. On the day of surgery- 1/18- I weighed 179. Today I weigh 148.6! Starting to feel "normal" and less like a fat girl. My highest weight was 205, so I've come a long way.

    Week #s 8 & 9

Highest known weight: 205 1/18 DOS 179 Week #1 171 (-8) Week #2 167.4 (-3.6) 11.6 total Week #3 165.8 (-1.6) 13.2 total Week #4 163.8 (-2.0) 15.2 total 1 month 2/18 161.4 17.6 total Week #5 161.4 (-2.4) 17.6 total Week #6 159.6 (-1.8) 19.4 total Week #7 157.4 (-2.2) 21.6 total Week #8 155.2 (-2.2) 23.8 total 2 months 3/18 154.4 (-7lbs from month 1 and -24.6 total) Week #9 152.8 (-2.4) 26.2 total Total weight lost from highest: 52.2 Bmi: 27.9 I am pretty happy with my numbers so far. I don't feel like the "fat girl" so much anymore. I have decided that when I hit 150, I am going to clean out my closet. I tried on some clothes the other day and I am thrilled. As far as shorts go, the 12s are a little big and the 10s are fitting well. I am also able to fit in 1 pair of size 10 jeans, so I'm thrilled about that. I am not going to miss all the 16s and 18s that I have! I also take measurements once a month, and I have lost 5.5" at my waist, 3.5" from my chest, 5.25" from my hips, 4.5" from my abdomen, 2" from my calf, 1" from my arm, and 2.75" from my thigh. I have even lost 1" in my neck. I still feel like my lower stomach is my worst problem area. Also, my legs are still huge. Of course, my boobs are shriking faster than I'd like. :-( I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I can eat pretty much anything without a problem (maybe that isn't such a good thing after all. lol). I feel really good. I just haven't really had any problems. Even my scars are really looking great! I am getting tons of compliments from people saying how good I look, which is so great to hear. As far as future weight loss goes, I am trying to tell myself I will be happy with 5 lbs a month. I am sure it will start to slow down now. I am actually quite surprised that I am still losing over 2lbs a week. I think I'd like to stabalize between 120-125, so that is really only about 33 more pounds to go. I would love to reach that goal at 6 months out, but that may be unrealistic. A normal bmi for me is 136, so I'll be thrilled to get there. I feel pretty confidant that I'll be there by 6 months post op. I am really excited for each phase of this. I am now it the low 150s and I can't wait to hit the 140s. It has been a VERY long time since I have been there and I'm only 3 lbs away!! As far as working out goes, I have been doing okay, but I really need to step it up again. I have kind of slacked over the last few days. I'd really like to get at least 3 really intense workouts in a week. That's all for now.

    Week #s 8 & 9

Good luck to you on your upcoming surgery. I can't tell you how thrilled I am at how things are going. I'm not going to say it has all been easy. Even though it doesn't look like I have had stalled, I have had lot of times where the scale will stay the same for 4 straight days in spite of me exercising and eating right. Just remember to think big picture. You will do great!
  19. What was your starting weight and bmi? Are you getting all your Water and Protein in? I am only down about 26 lbs. but I had a lower bmi (32) on surgery day and am now at a 28 bmi. Even though I haven't lost as many lbs as others, I am thrilled with the percentage of my excess weight that I've lost.
  20. Surgery was on January 18th. Highest weight was 205. Day of surgery 179. Today I'm 153.8. So I'm down 25.2 since surgery. I'm very happy even though most have lost lots more than me. I am even wearing size 10 jeans right now!

    Who is this person...

I think you meant to say you weighed 145.5 NOT 245.5 this morning. Otherwise, your the skinniest 245 lb person I've ever seen. Congrats with your weight loss! Very inspirational!

    How many people....

Just curious as to why you are reconsidering your goal weight? You and I have very similar stats. For me picking a goal weight is really hard, because I have no idea what that weight will look like on me. In my adult life I have never been below 133. I definitely want to get there again, but beyond that I really have no idea. Congrats on your success so far!

    Scar therapy

Thanks! I wish I knew how much of it is genetics and just normal healing and how much is from the merderma/bio oil. I guess it is better to use it as it can't hurt. I have one closer to my side that you can't really see in the pic. I am starting to have a hard time finding it to put the merderma on it. I am thrilled at how small and faint that one is. I wish the other 4 were like that!

Ha! The pic is upside down. Oops.

    Scar therapy

This is the first time I've attempted to add a picture. I hope it works. Anyway, I am happy with how my scars are healing, but have nothing to compare them to. I am right at 2 months out. You can see 4 of my 5 scars in the picture. I use bio oil right out if the shower everyday and I also use merderma every day. The one above my belly button is the worst, but I think the others are looking pretty good.
