  1. Unfortunately I feel like some of us have unreal expectations of the sleeve (even me sometimes!)' date=' it's a tool-- not a miracle worker. Sure your weight moved up 4 lbs more than it was when you checked the scale yesterday... But isn't that still tons of lbs less than when you started? You should be proud of how far you've come so far!! I know it's hard, sometimes I feel like I see the same number on the scale for weeks at a time. I don't, it's just my brain in "I have the sleeve, I should be losing!" Mode. I have to remind myself to be grateful for any loss because the way I was going pre-sleeve was nothing but gain gain gain! So embrace your weight loss and lock that scale up!! You'll be surprised when you visit your dr and have much more loss than you thought :) you got this![/quote']

Im grateful for the loss so far, I guess I just start thinking its over. I go back for a three month follow up with my surgeon and I just dont want to disappoint.

  2. Your weight fluctuates daily, that's why its recommended to only weigh once a week. Wait till next Thursday and you'll see that its gone back down. Try not to be discouraged by the scales, are you doing measurements as well?

its really hard not to get discouraged when your weight was a big part of your life. I havent done any measurements yet. I have some new items that i got in a size smaller that fit, but I can also fit some of my older things too. I was just told on another forum to try Water pills.

  3. Lil vent session here...

I know that the gastric sleeve is a tool and not a cure. My surgery weight was 272, and as of yesterday i was a delightful 230. Today , yes today I stand at a whopping 234. On every scale in my house. I followed my diet to a t, upped my Water consumption, take my Vitamins, and exercise almost daily ( kickboxing, cardio). Nothing. I thought I was happier at first, now I find that all i do is stress, stress stress. Im 100% discouraged with this surgery. Im sure when I go back for a follow up next month my dr will be disappointed. I just dont know what to do anymore. My hair is thinning, i feel bloated i am just FED UP!!!!

  4. I'm getting close to 3 months out and I notice that I'm able to eat much more than I could at 6 weeks out. But "a lot more" is really relative. Maybe a difference between 500 calories as my average to 650 calories as my average.

Nice to know im not alone ! Maybe in my head it just seems like a lot because im used to two spoonfuls of something !

  5. I don't come anywhere close to what I ate pre-sleeve. I could go to the Chinese buffet and polish off three plates + desert and not even break a sweat. Now' date=' I feel like I spend a LOT of my day eating, but not eating much. I eat tiny bits about 5 times a day, 100-150 calories at a go. Today I've eaten 4 times for about 63g Protein and a little over 500 calories.[/quote']

I meant post sleeve.. I can eat far morw now than I did when I first startee eating solids after my sleeve. Good point lol, we do spend a lot of the day eating

  6. Im 2 months out.. now usually when im approaching that time of the month my appetite goes into overdrive. Today I was able to reach 600 calories, something I normally dont do. I know it becomes easier to tolerate more fluids, but does anyone else feel like that can eat more than normally post sleeve? I feel like I ate ENTIRELY too much today !!

  7. It needs to be sublingual B12 at this point' date=' and you also need to assess your food intake. You are early out and not getting enough Protein which means your body is not healing properly. You mentioned not enough calories....how many shy are you? You really have to concentrate on Protein, calories and liquids early out of the box or your body won't heal and you'll be tired constantly, no matter how much b12 you take.

And I sound like a lecturing fool....but honey I give myself that same lecture every day. I also was trying to avoid the shakes but finally after several weeks of being shy of my protein goal I have decided to add one a day to my routine so that I make goal (I'm in a stall as well). When I am able to eat more food due to less restriction I will cut the shakes back out, but they are a necessary evil for some of us....[/quote']

Great info. Will be upping my protein today!
