  1. Yes - Thanksgiving was hard! I had 1/4 cup of white turkey meat. lol I am in the process right this minute of baking all of my Christmas baked goodies. Hard not to be able to taste anything.
  2. Thank you! up to 75 lbs. down now - I'm 2 lbs. away from the goal my surgeon set for me for 6 months. 18 lbs. from a healthy bmi and 37 lbs. from my ideal weight of 150 (I'm 5'9). I imagine the fact that I am younger (not young but youngER... lol!) at 29 has something to do with it. I'm also working out quite a bit. Anyway, thanks guys.
  3. I started some walking at like 6 weeks but wasn't super consistent with it. I just joined a gym a couple weeks ago called Crossfit - They are working my tail of and I'm noticing huge losses since joining! Mood... hmmmm. I think so. I just started feeling more normal when I was able to eat food.
  4. I'm not! I am so lame! My phone is a regular ol' cell phone. If I ever come into the 20th Century and get a Smart Phone, I'd love to, though!
  5. Just wondering if this is something everyone experiences across the board or what. I keep track of my weight, daily, on a wall calendar so I can really pick up on patterns, etc. and here's what I've found... I lose weight consistently throughout the month. I continue to lose while I am on my period. As soon as my period has ended, my weight loss stops and I basically don't lose anything for 7 to 10 days, though I do absolutely nothing different. Then suddenly, it starts coming off again at a rapid pace. Anyone else experience this?
  6. Losing 65% of my excess weight would put me at 185. I am 3 months post-op and weighed 187 this morning. I am still losing 1 to 1 1/2 lbs EVERY day so I don't see it just suddenly coming to a halt!
  7. My first month - I was in a lot of pain the first week. I know that I didn't lose much weight during the first week or so but then it started falling off. As far as being normal - You're never going to be what you used to consider normal but you will find a 'new normal' if that makes sense. I would say it took me about 6 weeks to 2 months to stop feeling weird about everything. My tips would just be to really hit it hard, follow your doctor's prescribed diet, get in your exercise, DRINK YOUR Water (huge!!!) and you will see amazing results! If you have any more specific questions, don't hesitate to ask!
  8. I had a bite of my kid's chow mein tonight. One bite, but... yeah, definitely not perfect over here or I wouldn't be in the position to need weight loss surgery in the first place! Congrats to you on your losses - Keep on keepin' on!

Is it Possible to Lose too Quickly?

Thank you - And sorry, was totally not fishing for compliments, just trying to ease my husband's "fears"!

Is it Possible to Lose too Quickly?

I guess that is my question. I had expected my losses to slow by now as I am (as of today) down to a BMI of 27 so not all that overweight. I'm 20 lbs. away from "Normal" weight on the BMI chart but still losing 1 to 1 1/2 lbs per day.

Is it Possible to Lose too Quickly?

Thank you! It seems like the pace wouldn't really matter much and if so, only temporarily. Glad to hear your dr. says so!

    Able to eat an egg?

For the egg - Don't feel that you have to eat the entire egg. Don't let yourself get "stuffed." Stop when you are satisfied (When the hunger is gone but you do not yet feel full is the perfect time to put down the fork!) Water - I struggled, big-time, with this for the first month. Take a sip of water every 5 minutes. My dr. initially told me every 10 minutes but I Was showing signs of dehydration and he said to take a sip every 5 instead. Studies have shown that people drink more when they drink from a straw, so try that. Really make it a priority - It will help your weight loss, help alleviate constipation and being dehydrated is NO fun. When I was struggling with it in the beginning, my vision would darken and I would almost faint - Which has never happened to me before ever! It gets easier to drink. At around 2 months, I was able to take big gulps.

Is it Possible to Lose too Quickly?

I drink 100 ounces of water per day, so am definitely meeting the requirements for that! I'm 3 months post-op.
  14. But the doctors performing surgery are only human as well. I'd absoluuuuuuuuuuutely trust a robot over a human!!!

Is it Possible to Lose too Quickly?

I'm doing "Crossfit" if you've heard of that so toning a LOT. Also, the skin would end up the same whether you lose your weight in 6 months or 9 months, right? And then slowly will tighten up a bit?
