If you could go back....what would you do differently? I'm always seeing people talk about this honeymoon period right after surgery and taking advantage of the beginning. So here I am, 5 weeks and 5 days post op, wondering how to make the very best of this time. Share your thoughts

For all the nurses, doctors, and medical students!
I'm a nursing supervisor so I'm moving around a lot! I try to carry water or crystal lite with me at all times.v I was very open about my surgery with coworkers so they understand the importance of me having fluids all the time. I also make sure that if I'm at my desk or on break I'm taking very frequent sips.

Holy sodium!
Soooo I was looking at nutrition labels last night and realized I'm consuming a lot of sodium....no wonder I'm in a stall!! Ill be preparing everything on my own now.....can't even trust lean deli meat!

How to break a stall?
Thanks for the help everyone! I'm going to add a protein shake, and fluids. I'm starting Zumba again Saturday and that is going to eat up all my calories! Eating more is not really an option right now, I'm lucky I can finish the food I do. I couldn't even finish a one egg omelette this morning....

Alright....day 13 at the same weight and I'm 22 days post op! How do we break these stalls??? I'm currently having in a day: 8 ounces of decaf tea 1 egg 1 string cheese 1/3 cup fat free refried Beans 8 ounces of skim milk in carnation shake 20 ounces about of clear fluids I already know that I need more fluids, this is soooo hard when I'm full so fast. Any tricks getting more fluids in? Or desirable fluids?

Sipping liquids causing cramps and burping?
It goes away give it a few more days to a week. That was the hardest part for me.

When were your staples removed?
No staples, no drain! Just internal sutures with steri strips.

Craved foods post op...
I'm 13 days post op, 32 pounds down and I feel fantastic. However, today is the first day I'm actually craving food. I think it's because I'm feeling more normal and it doesn't hurt anymore to drink fluids. So with that said....I'm craving veggie pizza from a local pizza place, and sushi

Nausea H-E-double hockey sticks
I was like this until today!! I was able to drink a whole cup very slowly of decaf green tea!! I was also afraid since I was getting barely any fluids and no protein. I've tried every protein drink, and it makes me want to puke. Vitamins are out of the question right now! Made my stomach bubble, I wanted to die. Like you, Im dropping 1-2 pounds a day, but at what price?? I'm only 13 days post op, but I can't wait for this to all go away. The cup of tea I had today was very encouraging, give it a try

Getting in fluids...

Getting in fluids...
- Getting in fluids...
I'm 12 days post op and still on a full liquid diet. The first week I was getting in a protein shake a day and a pudding or jello and some clear fluids. For the past three days I can't even stand my protein shake, it disgusts me. I'm also not taking in nearly the amount of fluids I should be. Ay tips?? Will my hate for the shakes go away? I'm trying to force one down today because nutritionally I need it.- What is sliming?
Sorry fyre, I was so sure it was connected to nickelodeon, thanks for confirming my suspicions- What is sliming?
I see people talk about it on here but I'm not sure exactly what it is......thanks!- January Newbies ! Progress ?
Sleeved the 22nd. Down 16 pounds since surgery, including preop diet down 28.- General post op questions...
Hey everyone! I'm 8 days post surgery today! I feel great and I'm dropping weight fast, yahoo! My incisions are still sore but I'm able to get around fine and I'm totally functional. For those who had steri strips how long we're these on for? I'm also sipping constantly and my new tummy lets me know when a sip was too big! I'm going to be moving from full liquids to the next stage, probably puréed foods? On Wednesday. Any good tips for puréed foods? I'm excited to have more than clear fluids, Jello, pudding, and Protein shakes! Thanks! - Getting in fluids...
