    Hot Yoga kicked my butt!

I actually have no problem with hydration. Ill be 4 months in a few days and I drink just like I did pre-surgery. I was very worried that I wouldnt be able to workout hard and replenish my fluids but its not an issue. The day that I know Im going to do hot yoga I make sure to EXTRA hydrate that day so I dont become dehydrated with all of the sweating. I called my surgeon and asked if I could be cleared for hot yoga and I was told after 7 weeks that I was good but other surgeons may have different rules so just ask to be safe. I was more worried about the moves than the hydration, I didnt want to rip anything ya know. I have stuck with it. I go a couple of times a week and Im so in love with it. I find that Ill lose an extra pound or two that week. Im a slow loser so just one pound is a big deal for me I find that sometimes I dread going but once Im there I just take it one pose at a time and before I know it, Im done and very proud of myself. Plus I sleep like a ROCK that night lol. Let me know if you find a hot class and tell me how you liked it when you go

    closet shopping!

I too enjoy closet shopping. Ive had to get rid of the first round of sizes and am now going on the third round as my second round of sizes are getting wayyy too big. I can only cinch up jeans so much before it starts looking like Im wearing a denim sack. Just last night I was telling the hubby that my next goal was these green cargo pants that I loved and this morning I tried them on....they fit!!! So excited.

    Just Curious

Im a slow loser. Sleeved 12/5, down 57 pounds including pre-op diet. As long as the scale goes down, Im happy. My surgery weight was 222. Im glad I dont compare myself to others or else Id be very disappointed.

All i want is a salad

I just had my first salad last week and Im almost 4 months out. I had heard other stories about how salads made them run for the bathroom and honestly, thats what I was hoping for but no I had 2 salads that week (a 1/2 ounce of chopped turkey and a half an egg on it). I think I may have a sleeve of steal because nothing that Ive eaten has ever bothered me and Ive never thrown up. I can say that avocados make me run for the bowl though Sorry for the TMI but poop gets me excited lol.

Two weeks post op and eating nearly the "maximum"

At 2 weeks I could barely finish one mushed up hard boiled egg. I believe I was on pureed at that time but couldnt take in much at all. Now Im almost 4 months out and I can take in more but still have a very good restriction. For example, I can only eat about 5 cold shrimp or 2 wings from Buffalo Wild Wings or a small filet of tilapia or a half cup of cottage cheese. Some things obviously fill me up faster than others.

    This is hard for me

Congratulations! You look amazing and Im sure you feel it too. Ive always had a body dysmorphic thing going so I really never knew how big I was until I saw it in pictures. Therefore I dont have many because I was so ashamed. Im proud of you for putting it out there and especially seeing how far you have come. Awesome job!
  9. I can totally understand how you feel. Im only a little over half way to goal and have not yet started shopping for smaller clothes (except yoga clothes) because I feel like if I take small clothes into the dressing room that people will be like "whats the fat girl taking those smaller sizes in there for?" and then if they dont fit Ill feel so ashamed and secretly think that they are snickering saying "Ha ha, I knew that wouldnt fit you, what were you thinking?" So I continue to wear my really big clothes, cinched up jeans and super big shirts. I only feel worthy when Im at yoga and being in touch with my body. Oh and when my awesome hubby is chasing me around lol.
  10. I weigh every day when I wake up. Some days I have a and some days I have a but I try not to let it get to me. I just keep keepin' on.

    What about "the girls"?

Ive lost 2 sizes but not in the cup. I love it cause those puppies were choking me at night lol.

    Question post op

Yup, I had that too. I was worried but it went away before I even noticed.
  13. Good luck sweety, youll do great. Thank goodness for modern medicine
  14. I actually suffered more having my gall bladder out then my sleeve surgery. I had my gb out first and no one bothered to warn me about the horrific gas pains and I thought I was having a heart attack. Hubby rushed me to the hospital but by the time we got there it was gone. Not to mention it felt like I got mule kicked in the gut for quite a few days. Sleeve was a piece of cake compared to the gall bladder.

    Gross topic

Ive actually been able to tolerate everything so far (Im 3 1/2 months out) but I havent tried a salad yet cause it wasnt sleeve space worthy lol. But Im going to give a go this weekend and see what happens.

    Gross topic

Sh*t, Im gonna go have a salad right now!! LOL. At least youll know what to eat the next time you need a 'cleaning out'.
  17. I also asked if I could take a xanax the morning of surgery and they said it was perfectly fine. Im so glad I was able to because it took the edge off for me. Plus, while you are waiting to be wheeled in, they give you some of what I call 'calm down juice'. Its a shot they give you thru the IV to mellow you out even more. I was very excited for my surgery though. It was only till the day before that I started getting really anxious.

    Developing acid reflux after VSG

I never had acid problems prior to surgery but have needed to take a PPI every day since surgery. I was on a 30mg dosage and now am on only a 15mg dosage. Ive been told that this can occur after surgery because the body is used to producing so much stomach acid and even after surgery may still be producing the same amount which then blocks up into the esophagas causing the acid reflux. The PPI in a sense put out the fire and reduced the amount of acid. Have you talked to your surgeon about this? Im sure they can recommend a remedy or make suggestions for you. Im hoping one day not to have to take a PPI any longer but so far Ive been on them for 3 1/2 months.
  19. Whoa, I dont even have time for 3000 calories. I would have to make eating my full time job lol. If it would just warm up here (Chicago) then me and the hubby can start biking. But for now Im getting my workouts from hot yoga and other strength classes. While Id love to do a spinning class, Im not sure I could handle it lol.

    Heartburn!

Apparently everyone is different so before you try a prescription try an over the counter. I use Prevacid and KanesMom uses Prilosec. See if one of those do the trick. I take mine every morning and never have heartburn but you might need something stronger depending on how much acid your tummy is producing.

    Heartburn!

They didnt prescibe a PPI for you when you were released from the hospital? I was prescribed 30mg Prevacid for 3 months. When the prescription was over I started taking 15mg over the counter Prevacid and it controls my heartburn just fine. I was glad to be able to go down in milligrams. I would call your PCP or your surgeons office for a prescription maybe.
  22. Im 3 months out and had fallen asleep without my mask a few times (I was never a diligent cpap user as bad as it is, I hated it). Anyway, my husband will purposely stay in the bedroom and listen to me sleep. In the past he would tell me 'put your mask on, you arent breathing good' and he would tell me that I snored SO LOUD. But now 3 months out and 56 pounds lighter, I no longer stop breathing and I dont even snore any more. I have not gone for the actual sleep study but like gmanbat, I believe Im through with it. I sleep great, Im not tired during the day, I dont have headaches when I wake up, my throat doesnt hurt from snoring and no more thrush.

    Coffee?

I have a cup maybe every other day. For some reason though it really fills me up unlike tea that I can drink all day long. I actually like coffee for its taste and no so much the caffiene so for a dessert treat my hubby and I make decaf with our french press with some non-fat vanilla creamer. Nom nom nom coffee
  24. My hubby and I high-five after a healthy one (after hands are washed of course lol). I LIVE for an impressive BM!
  25. Yes they are and the devil sure knows his way around a creamy chocolate treat Damn you creme eggs {{shaking fist in air like an old man}} lol.
