  1. Does your program have live support group meetings? Go to them. I would suggest getting a therapist who specializes in bariatrics too. I'm sorry he doesn't support you. What are his reasons?
  2. 25 pounds is wonderful! Talk to your NUT if you are worried though. I think with soft foods they just empty your stomach faster so you can eat more.
  3. That is so disappointing! If I were you I would look into seeing if you can get an exception. If not, keep losing and then look into changing insurance next year.
  4. You lost 25 pounds since surgery or overall?
  5. I love turkey bacon. It tastes like bacon without the grease.
  6. Are you drinking while eating? I had surgery on the 25th and my feeling of fullness varies from day to day. But I can eat five ounces of Greek yogurt at a time. I think with slider foods we are able to eat more. It should be that when you go to solid foods you are going to feel fuller a lot faster. How'd your weight loss going?
  7. How are you mixing them? My husband bought me a little blender that is made just for shakes and smoothies. Somehow they taste better when they are blended really well and the texture is better. If you are allowed I would try putting in sugar free syrups too or even fruit. Also the nurse told me most protein products taste better when they are very cold or frozen. You could try that and see if you like it. If you have a support group in person you might see if you can sell the rest of it to someone too.
  8. Hi! I had Dr. Morales too. He is excellent! Just to warn you I found out in the hospital that 95% of his patients spend two nights in the hospital. So be prepared. He is very conservative and careful but I think that's good.
  9. Good for you! You look tiny!
  10. Every surgeon is different. Some of them want you to only do an Atkin's type diet, some want you on liquids, and the length time varies too. Some base it on your BMI. I are some chicken for lunch every other day during my first week. I just did liquid the second. I lost 8 pounds in two weeks. One of the nurses told me that the people who stick to the pre op diet and lose weight have a better outcome than those who don't.
  11. Ok I'll say it....are they real? Because so many women lose their girls when they lose weight. Did you have plastics before or after WLS? Sorry if that's rude.
  12. I am with you. I am ok today but damn some days I get so sick of the puréed food! I just want something crispy or crunchy! Just try to keep in mind that one day you will be able to eat a wider variety of foods. I think we crave variety in flavor and texture. And when we don't have it, anyone is going to just think about it a lot. Good luck to you, you can do it!
  13. Oh also do you have pressure incontinence?
  14. She just hates homework!
  15. Oh that sucks! We did it! I felt kind of like it was the first time I was nervous and felt subconscious. Ha.
  16. All of the percolating, bubbling, burping, and growling in my stomach.
  17. A mr. coffee A Water cooler A humidifier tupperware
  18. Like right now she's throwing a fit about her homework and it's time for dinner. She's nine but it seems like she knows when I'm upset and she has to throw tantrums.
  19. That sounds very sane actually. For me the problem is when my actual daughter and my inner child both need me at the same time.
  20. I still haven't felt up to it. I'm just not in the mood. I am so tired and emotional, and I can tell my period is coming. Blech!
  21. If anyone has Trader Joe's in their area, they carry Gourmet protein powder. It is excellent.
  22. What kinds of things are you doing for her?
  23. Well I know I shouldn't have done it. I'm not offended. It didn't hurt my sleeve at all, it hurt my esophagus. I had it with Soup and Water and dipped it in the soup so it wasn't completely dry. I don't even know why I did that. It's the first time I have eaten something I shouldn't have since the week before surgery. I felt like it was just sitting there in my esophagus forever. I think I just got scared that my sleeve was already huge and I got soup at a restaurant that came with bread. I tore out the inside and had the soft part too. Well I can say my sleeve is really small and now I'm going to tell them to keep their bread.
  24. I don't know. Just being stupid.
