  1. She seems very insecure and selfish. She can go on about how healthy she is but you can't magically take away the stress on your joints. She might be young and it doesn't bother her yet but some day it will. It sounds like she is still recovering from her eating disorder and isn't stable enough to be a good friend. I'm sorry but maybe you are better off without her in your life.

    So excited!

    I'm now down 60 pounds from consult in February. I can fit into my little black dress again! I still have a ways to go to goal. But I'm feeling good! The sundresses I took on my honeymoon in 2011 fit me again! Now I just need to find a place to go that calls for a little black dress!

    dr. nowzaradan anyone?

    If that's the guy from the TV show then he wants to see if you are so addicted to food that the surgery wouldn't help. I would guess if you do a liquid diet for a week with high Protein you could probably lose at least five if not more. Some people he asks to lose weight just can't or don't. And one woman was being so enabled by her family he had her in the hospital for a month to see if she could lose away from them. Good luck to you. I hope he helps.
  5. It might be the speed that it's coming off. It might be they wonder if you had WLS and they are trying to get you to say it. I'm sorry they are bothering you so much.

    private FB groups?

    I did change my screen name but if they had links saved or something they can still follow what I'm posting. Whatever, I guess I should take it as a compliment that I'm that interesting. Personally I would think all of the minutia of WLS would be so boring to other people. Like Omg I ate nuts today! I lost another four pounds, whoop Dee doo.....stop the presses.

    private FB groups?

    Well hopefully they won't try to join. Apparently my weight loss and what I eat is fascinating. Maybe I should sell tickets to the show.
  13. The noises are so annoying at first. Two months out I tried eating half a sandwhich thin for the first time. I hadn't had anything bread like yet. My sleeve would not shut up for an hour. Thank God I was at home. It sounded like I was hiccupung kind of but I wasn't.

    if iam not hungry should i still eat ?

    I track everything I eat and make sure I get 60 gm of protein a day. So I do eat even if I'm not hungry to hit my protein goal. If I dont I just don't feel right.

    Took the decision

    Everyone is different. When you are on liquid and purees, yes you are going to miss food. I couldn't watch people eat and for some reason the smell of ham made me want to cry. Which seems funny now. Once you get to the solid phase you probably won't miss much. Sometimes I miss sushi but I'm afraid to eat it yet. I also don't know how the rice will go down. Maybe when I'm further out or I can just have sashimi without the rice. I go to fast food places and I really have no desire to eat anything there. I have salad and can barely eat any of it. I would say the first few months are very hard but some people just seem to have no issues. I think I miss having a drink on the weekends more but even that is going away. I just love losing weight more than food or alcohol.
  16. He has been supportive from the beginning. He was concerned about the safety but after going with to the surgeon consult and reading about it he knew I was making the right choice. He has helped me so much and I feel lucky to be with him. He stayed home with me for a few days after I got out, he took care of cooking and went out and bought a lot of different protein powder when I was sick to death of what I had at home. He is right there saying way to go when I lose another five pounds and we plan what fun things we are going to do when I hit goal. I know he wants me to be happy and healthy.

    Also I bought a big box of upcal, calcium that you put into a drink. I can't stand it but that could be because anything I had the first week after surgery reminds me of being sick, so I can't have any of it anymore. I'll bring the box and you guys are free to take as much as you want. I also have three fourths of a bottle of sugar free hazelnut Torani syrup. I don't know if that's gross but I swear I haven't put anything in it! I just hate to waste it but I don't like it. I have some nice work clothes that I just bought before surgery. I could probably sell them but it is a hassle and I'd rather give them away to people I know are going to appreciate them and pass them on when they can't use them anymore!
  18. Can you buy Vitamins with food stamps? I have been there, and I have been on WIC. I had to supplement with food from a food pantry. Can you maybe do that too?

    Major NSVs!

    I'm 7 weeks out. I'm down 56 pounds but more exciting to me is I have lost 5 inches in my waist and my hips. I'm down from 24 pants to 18; and some 18s are getting loose! I bought a shirt at the store last weekend. It was in the regular section so I didn't know if it would fit. I held up the XL and thought it fit. Got home and I was swimming in it! Went back and tried on the medium. It fit well but the bust area looked odd the way it was cut because I'm still a D. So I got the L and it looks good even though its a bit big. Unbelievable! I also lost three inches under my bust and I'm having to use the inner clasp. I'm putting off getting new bras as long as I can. Also I talked to my daughter who is 9. I was talking to her about eating habits and told her I don't want her to end up over weight like me. She said she didn't think I was overweight. If only we could see ourselves through their eyes! I'm able to walk up the stairs at work which are huge without grabbing the rail or feeling tired. I have a lot more energy too!

  23. What the hell? She's not a mental health expert. I think it's normal to cry. I think it shows how much it bothers you abd that you have a lot of motivation to lose weight!
