I actually prefer the taste of the powder variety, but as you say - the premade is a lot easier - My job is a lot of driving, so its easier to just grab one out of the fridge on the way out.
I've not tried keeping the powder variety for longer than an hour or so, so can't comment on how well it keeps, sorry.

Hi Andy, there weren't any shakes recommended to me when I had my sleeve done, or anytime since - I've just found these on my own, so perhaps they are a bit high on the carb side. I just watch what else I eat. I also found a really nice tasting powder based shake on Amazon - Smartec Whey-fx Protein - its really nice in Strawberries and Cream.

Congratulations - that's great news! well done

I feel your pain, but you really need to just let your body heal at its own pace - don't rush it. You need to take care of you before you are able to take care of the babies, or anyone else. big hugs

I don't know if this will halt your surgery, but I truly hope not. Try not to stress until you know the outcome. Take care

I've done the low carb/no carb diet a few times (pre-sleeve) and in my experience, the first three days are always the worst - after that the serious craving are gone - try not to have even the slightest hint of too many carbs, or the whole cycle starts over again... Good luck, but after day three/four you will find it much easier

I've only lost 7lbs since Christmas, so understand your frustration at the stall. Can't say I've heard of Adipex - but good luck with it. Hope it goes well for you.

I know exactly what you mean! I am the same - think more about food in a conscious way than ever before.

Thanks, I will do that

I had a hernia repaired last week, so am off work for a few weeks.
I have achieved the goal the surgeon set for me, but I would so like to drop another 20lbs, that way I will be eligible for the skin surgery.
I've started to concentrate on my Protein intake, and once I'm well enough will be visiting the gym on a regular basis.
I'm 22 months out - has anyone else re-started at this point and been successful in dropping about 20lbs, or how much?

I'm 22 months out and haven't tried anything carbonated, I get all I need from crystal light

I grind up flax seeds in a coffee grinder and add them to my Protein shakes in the morning. I have been doing this for years.
Chia needs to be soaked in Water for about 5 min before adding to things. I've added them to Protein Shakes too, and to Greek Yogurt.
Hemp hearts are the best. They have all the benefits of both flax and chia but they taste great. They taste very nutty. I love adding them to Greek Yogurt.
Whereabouts do you get the hemp hearts? are they expensive?

I'm going in for a hernia repair, but they can't do keyhole because of the location of my hernia - under my ribs. Has anyone had an op like this - how was it painwise compared to the sleeve? How long to recover?

I burp too regularly after eating and I'm 20 months out.. I take it as a sign that I'm full/possibly eating one spoonful too much - I've had hiccups also - watch that he isn't eating/drinking too fast also.

I've been there, done that - weighed myself every day... I'm 20 month out now - just get weighed when I go to see the nurse for my diabetes check - about once every three month or so - sometimes I'll step on the scale, but I've only lost 7lbs since Christmas so its a bit disheartening to be honest - rather just live in my dream world
So Humiliated...

I'm so sorry that you have had to experience this. I'm glad that things went a lot smoother than the ticket attendant thought they might! They were so insensitive to do that to you. As others have said - think ahead. big hugs x
